perfect pincurls and fantastic finger waves

RUBY!!

Your hair would be adorable that way! pin curls are easy. just get some curl pins, wash your hair, towel dry, then take small section of hair, pinch the between two fingers and twist your hair all the way up. Then just slip the pin in place. you want it to roll up but not twist. make sense? think of the way a belt looks when you roll it up. that's what you want. Then just wait for it to dry.

I used to love pinning my hair up. Now it's too damned long. I just recently did this and it took me over an hour to pin up and more than 14 hours to dry. no thanks. maybe if I work up the nerve to cut more than an inch of hair off.

Finger waves are fairly easy too. it's all about setting it when wet.

Now if you’re talking about rolls and snoods and the junk I’m your girl too. PM me the style you’re interested in doing and I can give you a pretty basic run down.

Another thought is to visit a Kut N Kurl or a Beauty Box or some such institution of old lady hairdos (and don'ts!). I'll bet the farm there are some serious pincurls going on behind closed doors!

lol, i bet you're right, miss rose. :rose: that reminds me that i have gone to a salon here that is all retro, bet they have all the resources. good to see you, babe.

LOL
After all them margaritas?? You’re kidding.

you know.... I'm going to set my hair tonight... oh shoot no curl pins... *sigh*

jb, thanks for the tip. i was doing it all wrong.... twisting and twirling, which, given enough time and heat can look remarkably like dredlocks, which wasn't exactly the look i was going for. :)

what about that silky, smooth, veronica lake finger wave look..... think i could do it?

Oh yeah. For those you need the longer pins. You know the ones I’m talking about? The ones that are about the length of your palm? You get a few of those and when your hair is still damp from the shower add some gel (or anything that’ll help it set and not frizz), then you sort of … pin your hair back you know the way you do when you want to pull a strand of hair back from your face? You start at the top and have a row of then pulling your hair one way, then back again pulling the opposite way. I’ve always love that look.

Well my fave are the rolls. Man I love those. But what a time to get it down at the end of the day!

getting the right product balance will be key..... don't want the greasy look.

i think i may need your help up close and personal, jb.

Ruby, I think you'd look great with any of those styles.

I've always wanted to finger wave my hair, but I'm so spastic trying to do fancy things to my hair all by myself.
It's difficult for me to even blow my hair straight.

The reason their are pigtails dangling from my head is that I HATE to fix my hair.

Although all those links (and hairdos contained therein) seem cute and I wouldn't mind testing them out...I just don't have the patience.

I'm just awaiting the day when my hair is all one length again (read: long) and I can let it dry with my head out the car window on the way to work.

My beauty regimen is truly a sight to behold. ;)

And, yeah, Zam...that's me. Truly, I've found that most men aren't interested in the fact that I know more about most cars, guns and sports than them. It's a little offputting to them it seems. *shrugs* Everything they can do, I can fdo better (including their wives/girlfriends)

You are a caution. Still smart, clever and hip. The lack of interest in cosmetics makes it work even better.

What does that mean exactly?

Thank you...I think. :)

It means your not going to get run over by anybody. And that's cool.
