Penthouse Letters & Forum

I use to read those stories many years ago and loved them. Some of them changed me more than most of the photos did.
Agree @MerWilh. While the pictures were hot I was always drawn to the stories. The stories triggered images and scenes in my mind that the pictures could never do. Thats why i eventually ended up on Literotica looking for similar escapes and fantasies.

I found one once when I was in my early to mid 20's(mid 90's) around the time I started to become curious. I don't remember if the letters in the Forum started me on the path or not, but I do know that only two stories in the book had gay/bi males in them. I remember them pretty well probably cause I read those two many times.

Nothing wrong with that šŸ˜‰

I wrote for Penthouse Letters and others back in my early years of writing. Today we call it Ghost Writing but back in that era it did not have such a name. For the most part the Letters they received were from non-commercial writers, but when they needed content, or needed more content of a certain type of story, they would ask a few of us writers to help out. It worked well because they paid really well and it got my writing career established.

After the internet came out things changed. With so many internet sites needing to be relevant with constantly changing content, ghost writing for all the websites needing content became more profitable and quicker and easier to do. The pay was also better.

But while I had a much different perspective than many of you, writing all those stories really shaped what I became. I seldom write erotic stories anymore, but have still been on this Lit Site since almost the beginning (under a different username) and writing convincing erotica is so challenging to get right, that it really helped with my non-erotic published works of today. I certainly look back at those types of magazines with true nostalgia.
