I know this has been talked to death, but my late entry for One Night In XXX has been pending...and pending...and yes still pending...

I submitted it on April 24th, and it sat until the 27th. I decided to edit it and take off the tag for one night in xxx since it was going to be posted so late.
I know once I edited it to take out that tag it got sent to the back of the queue and that's fine, but now it's still sitting there pending since the 27th.
And yes I know that's not unusually long...but it seems like it's not ever going to move to posted.
I've never waited more than 3 days even when I was brand new. Most of the time it's less than 24 hours.

Maybe it's a sign that it shouldn't be posted?

Don't say that! By the sound of it, you're not the only one playing the waiting game.

Just hang in there!

It's especially weird since, if you look at the New List, there's a late One Night story that's posted up top.

If you count from the 27th, that's six days. I waited ten days once - I think that was last November. In may case it was a story already posted a while and then I submitted an edited version in November.

For a completely new submission, I've waited at least seven days more than once, although that was in the spring of 2018.

One Night in Belleville is there now and has been added to the One Night in CXX page.

Reading what others have said and from my own experience a week isn’t a long time for Lit submissions even though it might be in the big world.

If your stories have all beeen published in three days you’ve done okay. “Most of the time it’s less than 24 hours.” That’s incredible taking into account what others say about submission to publishing times. Particularly if it’s been happening regularly.

2 - 4 days is typical for established authors, 4 - 7 days for new authors. Occasionally it runs longer, depending on contests and, one assumes, Laurel's health. Contests might cause a day or two's delay for a story not in the contest, but contest entries can go up in 24 hours.

I’m rusty, almost all my stories for the last little while have been for events or competitions but 2-4 days seems about right.

Mine too.

So, it looks like I'm not alone. I resubmitted a story on the 27th and it's still pending. This is troublesome.

Your story is no longer pending :) Just finished reading it and enjoyed the memories and the awkwardness of first loves and such. I'm glad you persevered and put the story out into the world.

Thanks so much for all the help and suggestions, I wanted to send it to you for one last read over when I was finished with it, but since I was running so late already I decided to just submit it.

And I'm happy I did decide to go ahead and submit it, I've gotten about 5 comments and emails from local people who enjoyed seeing our small towns written about in a story. So that's nice.
And yes I've had people say they want more chapters written about the towns here and have listed landmarks I could include.

Thanks Chloe :D for organizing this event and for the help getting it posted.
