Pendant of Bast (closed for Asa)

As her form rippled again one of the priestess quickly picked her up carrying her to him. They were all confused by his shrinking but Kahi knew her Goddess needed something they could not give but he could. carrying her carefully to him she looked to him.

Help her... you are Noble Lord you would not be here if you were not. Help her...

She nodded to him backing away only after he took Bast from her. The others simply watched knowing she was right in her actions but still could one who had changed so much in their eyes really still be the same being they knew before?

Bast purred weakly as she was moved around and handed between them. Eyes cracking open in more of a what is disturbing my rest than anything else.

He frowned and cradled the limp form of the goddess,

"I can remember my lives, but you have me stumped there. I can not remember being of noble birth. Nor do I know what to help."

You became so when you became Our Bast's so long ago.

She watched him for a moment were there gaps in those memories or did Khonsu keep things from him.

Long ago you loved her as mate wife whatever you wish to call your union then. Does that still exist? Then... Help her.

Luke McAllister

He shook his head,

"Still don't know what you are talking about."

Without conscious thought his hand started to stroke over her fur, he looked down at her and his hand started to caress all the spots he knows all cats love, the love he carries inside him for cats and now for Bastet flows from his warm hands and into her, allowing her to feel all the love and care that he ever had for her and her servants.

Her strength began to return as she seemed to move around a little more in his hands purring her eyes opening as she nuzzled against his hands. Slowly her own powers began to help her transform back into her human form slowly feeling more "solid" and herself.

Love...

She watched his eyes unsure what she saw there or what to do. Standing slowly with the priestess help she smiled to him...

Thank you My love. SO what plans have you for regaining the gem?

Luke McAllister

He ran his eyes over her form and got to his feet,

"The only plan is to find if she has the gem and then steal it back."

He gave her a grin,

"Perhaps even kill her for the insolence of stealing from my beloved."

She smiled listening to him.

Stealing it back I am sure will be fine but speak with Konshu about killing her.

Glancing over as armor and other items are brought in for him for his journey. She straightened up more knowing the time was close that she must bless his mission and send him on his way.

He readied himself, packing food into their prepared bags, getting his gear ready and then started to strap on the armor. It wasn't the lightest of armor, but it would help against arrows. At last he stood before his goddess, in armor, with his weapons on hand, he smiled gently at her,

"Well my love, do I look at least presentable?"

If they are wise they will remember and fear you my love...

She smiled reaching a tentative hand to his cheek doing all she could to believe that he would return to her once more and they will finally have the life they lost before.

You look most imposing even if they do not remember you My love.

He smiled back at her,

"Right now I look like one of your cats love, small and sleek. I think it will help me in the days to come and if they do not fear me..."

He grinned,

"Then they will find out that I have learned more in the future and they will die with fear in their hearts."

She smiled at his words drawing more strength from his confidence and moving closer she leaned in to kiss him tenderly. Her lips pressing to his... feeling him so close so tenderly she purred softly her eyes closed her hand on his chest and the other on his cheek.

He kissed her back, it came naturally, his hand slid to the back of her head, his fingers tangling gently with her hair. The kiss lasted long, longer than a blessing from a goddess would be.

Finally withdrawing from the kiss she lingered there in his embrace her eyes lost in his her arms slithering around his waist as she lingered there. The priestesses and felines began shooing people away from them and giving their Goddess and her love time before he must leave to hunt and fight.

Her lips parted as if to speak but no words were found as she just smiled lost in his eyes.

He smiled back at her, no words were needed in this moment, just being close to one another was all that they both needed. He held her close to him, brushing through her hair with his fingers.

You... you will have to begin your task soon... we can not put off what must be done or there will be nothing left to bring us such closeness and warmth

A tear clung to long lashes as she stared into his eyes. She did not wish to release him from her arms but knew she had little choice the gem had to be found and returned she could feel herself falling ever slowly into nothing.

leaning up to kiss him once more she whispered in the ancient language of her own sacred people blessing him and warding him from darkness and danger.

He bowed his head, taking the blessing from her and just to surprise her, he answered her in the same language,

"I thank you love for your blessing and will return to you."

I gave her a smile and kissed her cheeks,

"Stay strong, I will make haste."

She smiled hearing him answer in the language of their home reaching a hand to his cheek she nodded...

Yes love Haste and care... be safe...

Slipping from his arms she watched him till he left before moving to her chambers to attempt to eat just a little.

He left the temple, the guards on duty saluted him as he left and as he exited the city gates, the guards saluted him again. It was strange how fast stories spread, he just hoped that he could out run these stories, he didn’t want them to know what he looked like. Not yet. He moved along the Western routes, buying and if needed, stealing food as he went forth, he made sure that he left as little traces as he could and made sure that no news of him travelling went out before him. It was turning cold as he reached the foot hills, the unspoken border of the Hittite people. He was glad that the clothes that have been given to him, was not only sturdy, but warm as well. He moved through the hills, taking the untraveled paths or if he could find them, he used livestock trials. It was one evening during his cold meal that a thought came to him, why did he sneak around? He could just say that he is one of the Northern Soldiers, the Europeans of this time did not seem that much different from himself and the Hittite army did use foreign soldiers.

It took him a bit of scouting and some patience, but before the end of the third day he had relieved a Hittite soldier of his horse and gear. Of course the soldier did not need it or any compensation as he was a corpse, felled by bandits. Luke grinned as he surveyed his handiwork, it would definitely look like a bandit attack. He got onto the horse and moved out, the first real challenge came when he wandered past a guard post, the guard and his officer came rushing out of the hut, spears thrust out towards Luke.

“Halt, you are not of us, why are you wearing our gear?”

Luke kept his hands in plain sight,

“I come from the Northland, I have been sent to join a command post, but have lost my way. I am not familiar with this country.”

The officer grunted and mumbled to the guard,

“They allow all sort of scum in these days.”

To Luke he said,

“You, continue with this road, you will come to a City, you can be redistributed from there.”

Luke could feel the magic at work to make his story seem plausible, he nodded and thanked the two soldiers before going on his way. He was not sure who to thanked, so he thanked his love. Bast.

She watched from the scrying pool from time to time to see how he was faring... the priestesses watched over him as well. She rested quite a bit as well feeling so weak and helpless angered her which was even more taxing on her system. The healers gave her things to help her sleep from time to time to just ease the strain on her system and her sacred felines remained sealed to her sides refusing to leave even at the request of the healers.

His journey went considerably faster with the horse, though he met fewer troops the deeper he travelled into his enemy's country. Of course they had to ptrol their borders and it made his journey to the Holy City easier as nobody thought that there would come a direct strike against them. It was late afternoon when he stopped and looked down on the city. He dismounted and hitched the horse to a tree, if somebody found it he had to return the hard way, if not he could move faster. He slipped out of the bulky armor and slipped on the black clothing that fitted his form. He sat down in silent meditation, tje question was...should he kill a godess or not.

Sekmet appeared in his mind as he meditated.

She stole from an aspect of Me... Your precious Bast. Bast would not wish you kill but I will condone it. Though perhaps you should seek out Anubis or Khonsu in his darker form...

The lion headed being grinned...

Payment must be made for harming a Fellow Goddess... be it at your hands or ours...

With that the blood hungry one was gone.

Luke McAllister

He opened his eyes and looked down at the city, first he would have to seek out Anubis or Khoshu before he could strike. He got to his feet, stashed his gear and kept just the khopesh on his back and daggers all well concealed. He knew that within this city, there was some religions of others civilizations present, he just had to find out if those he seek was there as well. He slipped silently away, using shadows to conceal him, by nightfall he slipped in over a wall and started his search.

The night brought the dark side of Khonsu to the hunt. Guiding another being through their death fights to regain a chance at rebirth. His eyes spotted the transformed young Lord. His ward busy in a battle Khonsu stood over the dark clad one.

What do you seek here? Are you not the now human beloved of Bastet?

Luke McAllister

The sudden appearance of the god took him by surprise, two daggers was in his hands as the being spoke to him. He grinned behind the dark cloth covering his face, the daggers were made of iron, enchanted iron that could kill a deity. He slid the daggers back into their sheaths, and nodded,

"That I am, the last reincarnation of Akhma Ramu. My lady told me that you are the one to thank for bringing me back now that I am needed the most..."

He bowed slightly,

"I thank you lord Koshu, but I have to know. Apart from the theological and mythological impacts...is it acceptable for me to deal out punishment to the goddess who took my beloved's jewel?"

Khonsu paused for a moment as if listening to something.

Steal back what is Bast's My brethren and I will deal with the youngling Goddess and her attempt to end an ancient one. If you wield no other choice summon us and We will aid you in dealing with her.

He watched him for a moment.

You are lucky There are few of my brethren I would make such an arrangement for. Remember that.

With that he turned and resumed aiding his ward in this crossing and ripping the heart from the latest target and devouring it.
