if you think the Extreme Court still holds to the principle of Stare Decisis, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn you might be interested in buying.
I've been saying this for years, "Justice" Sam Alito has never had any regard for Stare Decisis. It interferes with his ability to legislate from teh bench.

It was overturned as far back in history as Dred Scott and in the over 300 times the SCOTUS has overruled itself.

Alito is in good company. Potter Stewart, Hugo Black, Earl Warren, and other justices have done the same. According the the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court has overturned its own prior decisions 232 times as of 2020. Don‘t sell your bridge. Jump off it.

You know what, I'll actually agree with you to a point. Some of the guys you named did on occasion find a rationale to abrogate stare decisis.
None of them, however, used their power as relentlessly as "Justice" Alito has done over his career. Alito disregards stare decisis regularly.

I don’t care if you agree or disagree with the Library of Congress. The Supreme Court overturns itself often. The Warren Court didn’t give a shit about stare decisis. And btw, Alito ranks #3 on the current court in terms of votes that don’t adhere to stare decisis.
