PC or MAC ?

I'm a compu-slut. I have a macbook, and a few windows pcs that either dual boot in Unbuntu / RedHat / OpenBSD or with a swappable harddrive for whatever I am working on at the moment.

Honestly, either is as good as the next, depending on what I want to do. Most of my writing is done in Google docs, so I can get to it wherever on whatever. I've opened and repaired all kinds of macs, and they are a pain to get inside, but if you are not replacing logic boards or optical drives, its not rocket surgery.

Now if Apple will get off their asses and actually make with a dual multi-touch netbook platform, I would be a fan boy of epic proportions.
:D

My PC is a dual boot :D
Win XP (highly tweaked) for games
Suse 10.1 for serious work :D

Windows is not, and never will be secure. IE is the source of 70% or more of the problems. M$ should start overwith a clean blank screen.

I agree Pirate

I'm a PC user...I have a tower, a laptop and an XPSONE stand alone...all Dell's. I use all three for writing, web surfing, photo editing, creating greeting cards and posters, etc. I just had a new hard drive installed in my tower and upgraded the memory. I've used a Mac a few times...I like PC's better. ;)

The new netbooks from Asus, Samsung and some otehrs have multitouch.

Their multitouch sucks though. But it's a step in the right direction.

But yeah a Mac netbook would be nice. The only problem is that it will be pretty hard for Apple to do their usual "once again, we revolutionize the world" marketing on it.

They could do it with the Ipod and the Iphone even though they weren't first with those kind of products, because the early competition was pretty unknown and not very good.

Netbooks are everywhere, and are beginning to get pretty neat. And the good folks at Apple would rather chew off their own feet than be seen as trend followers instead of trend setters.

BTW, I use logitech mouse for my Mac. I hate mighty mouse.
Is there any of you who feels the same?

I generally use PC's, but a friend has a Mac that I record music on. The Garageband program that comes on a Mac is actually a pretty damn good recording tool. I recorded the song for my wedding on it in under an hour with layered guitars and two lines of vocals. And a cool sound effect track. My next computer will be a Mac just for that. I can get Word put on it, so I don't need anything else. I do like the PC two button mouse better, though.

I like it, although it takes some getting used to, it does so many things!

oh sorry..
i think that's the one I have....
I understand that he older version, you can't right click it. Mine, we can do right click.

but still, I don't like it :(

Mine is new, she likes one, two, three, and four fingers on her, you can right click it, but you have to buy her dinner first. ;)

Macbook 2Ghz Intel core Duo.

My first Apple was an Apple II with 64k memory and a 5" floppy drive :D Not much you could do with that these days.

I started on a Pdp 11, and used various computers throughout high school and college. never fond of big blue. turned down a 5 yr work study program with them that would have put me through college and all because I would have had to wear a white coat, heels, stockings and a bra ;)

Mac since 1984, it changed my life. The first developers conference and MacWorld expo was a blast!

I will work on PC's if there are no Macs. I used to do software testing on a mac running virtual pc.

In the early days, I had access to mac software that was never released(<-thanks to ms) I used Mac only software, and try to stay away from pc software ported to Macs.

I really like the Mac software and the one piece frame construction, by the way you can come work for me, and you don't have to wear all those silly clothes! ;)

I do wish uSoft would stop messing about with all those stupid peripheral stuff (Are you sure you want to do this?) and concentrate on making a good system.

True, true they could make a killer system too.

Yeah I know..... but dual touch screens! I keep thinking that the lower screen could be completely customizable, keyboard lay out or sliders for mixing, or stylus input, the sky would be the limit. THAT would change the land scape of netbooks.

I spent the better half of the morning working with a Promethean board, making sure it worked and was actually right. It was so easy using a stylus instead of a mouse. I was in Nerdvana.

I have both, a Mac Mini and a HP/Compaq laptop. I've had 3 Compaq laptops, 1 desktop and so far just one Mac. My preference is to PC, only because half the time my Mac doesn't recognize my keyboard so doing anything on it is a real pain, so right now I'm mainly using it for entertainment dvd/music, and back up if I'm having an issue with the laptop. I get a new keyboard that very well could change. :D

I must say as time goes by I see how much more *user friendly* my mac is, but like Salvor, I really like the idea of a stylus input.
