Did you really think that was funny? It’s damned deplorable, even for you.She probably upped his insurance.

Because such a thing would be used against her in opponent’s campaigns. What puzzles me though is why a private security firm wasn't being retained by the residents given their welt and political prominence.
Point. But given her husband's DUI I'd think that having a "chauffeur/body minder" wouldn't have been a bad idea.Because such a thing would be used against her in opponent’s campaigns.
And yet you've already called him illegal and insaneAs more information comes out it seems that he was a "Green Party" member, as if that means anything. <shrug>
Apparently the guy has a LONG history of bizarre behavior and interactions with law enforcement. I'm sure we'll be treated with more detail over the coming days.
He IS illegal. Insane? His behavior is far from rational, even before this event. And yet you've already called him illegal and insane
This isn't a time for "whataboutism." It's time to just flatly and unequivocally denounce such behavior.I'm in the political protest is totally fine with me but any type of threats or violence is reprehensible and where possible prosecuted.
And from what I understand the assailant is a Canadian who's been in the US for twenty-some-odd years and possibly not here legally. Plus he's known for his protesting history on nudism and involvement with another alt-right nudist who stalked a minor. Essentially he's probably going to end up with an insanity plea. Kind of a shitty outcome for something like this.
What puzzles me though is why a private security firm wasn't being retained by the residents given their welt and political prominence.
That is the ONLY context in which this is a political issue and it SHOULD transcend ANY political affiliation. Unfortunately it won't. Already the narrative from the left is turning this into "proof" of how this is a "threat to our democracy." It isn't, David DePape isn't a "threat to democracy", he's only a threat to himself and anyone around him.The universal condemnation of the attack from people on all sides of the political spectrum is good to see. This is not about the attacker’s recent right wing political delusions or his past left wing political delusions. It’s about a national drug addiction, mental health and homelessness problem. David DePape is not a sane individual. He is a homeless psychotic drug addict. Below is a link to one of the more thorough reports on his past written by journalist, author, and recent CA gubernatorial candidate Michael Shellenberger.
San Francisco, Oakland and Los Angeles are ground zero in California, but it’s truly a national problem. It won’t get any better until conservatorship laws are changed and mental health asylums are built to house and treat those like Mr. Pelosi’s attacker who are incapable of living independently and who are a danger to themselves and everyone they come in contact with. The well-intentioned, seemingly humane and enlightened community treatment strategy for treating mental illness that started during the Kennedy years and has continued to this day isn’t working.

Silly rabbit, the xenophobes don't care about that border. (For those who haven't heard, DePape is apparently from Canada.)I wonder if having her husband brutally attacked by a mentally deranged illegal alien will change her mind regarding border security?
I guess you didn't read my first sentence. You know you can both denounce something and express other things at the same time. That's called dialog and opinion. Otherwise, I'll just leave you to your rigidity of thought. This isn't a time for "whataboutism." It's time to just flatly and unequivocally denounce such behavior.
No, the sick joke is the idea that anyone could believe this has nothing to do with years of vilifying Pelosi and failing to take seriously the growing calls for political violence on the right. But the usual suspects will do just that. The entire narrative to the contrary is a joke, a sick joke.
He's a citizen as far as I'm aware. His acts may have been illegal, but that still needs to be proven in a court of law.He IS illegal. Insane? His behavior is far from rational, even before this event.
A violent home intrusion in San Francisco? OMG!

I read all of your post. It was exactly what I said it was. What's needed by all is a flat condemnation, no iffing or butting. There's no reason on God's green earth that the Pelosi family should have to spring for bodyguards for Nancy Pelosi to lead the Democratic leadership team in the U.S. House of Representatives.I guess you didn't read my first sentence. Renouncing it all is one thing fella, wanting the people who threaten or assault politicians, their families, or anyone else to stop it or go to jail is great. They should do the crime, then you're going to do the time. But guess what, spit in one hand and the other hand is dry.I read all of your post. It was exactly what I said it was. Get meally mouthed about this if you like; it doesn't address what I addressed. The immediate response to this event is for everyone--especially those responsible for setting this up, Republicans coddling crazies, going back to Palin pinning a target on Gabby Giffords--to totally condemn this shit--no "buts" or deflection or "guns don't kill people" crap. All of those supporting domestic terrorism, sedition, vigilantism, Donald Trump, and personal ownership of assault weapons need to just stop supporting this shit and declaring that they do.Renouncing it all is one thing fella, wanting the people who threaten or assault politicians, their families, or anyone else to stop it or go to jail is great. So yeah, if you are affluent and in politics which can induce deranged or just plain mean or stupid people will try to do or actually commit acts of violence against you then having some form of security is kind of prudent.
Taking a moral high ground worldview is great, it's an act of caring, sadly though, not everyone else will deviate from their jealousy or hate. Reality kind of sucks that way.
You're a bonafide moron. For more years than you've been alive I've watched the "progressives" engage to incite to riot tactics. It should come as no surprise to anyone that eventually the extreme right is going to respond in kind.Get meally mouthed about this if you like; it doesn't address what I addressed. And your response will be "he used a hammer, not a gun." Which illustrates my point about meally mouthing right there.
No, you haven't. You just read that into things progressives say that clearly were not calls to violence. We've all seen you do that repeatedly here. You're a bonafide moron. For more years than you've been alive I've watched the "progressives" engage to incite to riot tactics.
Ex-Rep. Gabbard was never shot, at least not that I know of.Oh, and Gabbard was shot by a lefty loonie, not a conservative.
Actually, yes I have. Going back to the late 60's in DC with the anti-war riots. The tactics haven't changed after all these years and the youngsters on the streets still fall for it. Anyone that's been through Robin Sage, it's equivalent, or worked closely with those that have are well aware of those tactics. No, you haven't. You just read that into things progressives say that clearly were not calls to violence. We've all seen you do that repeatedly here.
Ex-Rep. Gabbard was never shot, at least not that I know of.
Ex-Rep. Giffords was shot by a man who believed women shouldn't hold office, supported the Tea Party, and hated government in general. I'm sure that somehow meets your definition of "lefty loonie," though.
Concrete ties no, similarities to it, yes. And misogyny, while not completely absent on the left, is much more common on the right. While he was definitely a misogynist, there are no concrete ties to the "Tea Party" or any other movement.
And you have reliable research to back that up, right?Concrete ties no, similarities to it, yes. And misogyny, while not completely absent on the left, is much more common on the right.
Of course I do. It's called reading and watching the news regularly. And you have reliable research to back that up, right?
