Paul McCartney's Ego

I told myself I should stay out of this thread, but no, I had to come back in to see this. WTF was I thinking?

Why would Paul want to do that. Change liner notes to list his name first?

I'm thinking it has to be wanting to get Yoko, he hasn't forgiven her for losing his songs to Michael Jackson. He had his chance to buy them, and being fair to John (who was already dead) he called Yoko to tell her about it and how much. She said (this is Paul's version) she could get them for a lot less than the price that was asked. While he was waiting for Yoko to call back, Michael Jackson moved in and paid ten times the asking price, and so it goes.

The songs were always Lennon/McCartney, no matter who wrote what.

It seems like fixing something that wasn't broken, to me...

Oh fuck off Dickboy.......go wait some tables or whetever it is you do.

What the fuck does this mean? How can someone who's dead be half dead?

Is it like a half-life? Like the longer he's dead, the more dead he'll be? Or the opposite?

I wasnt completely sure if he was dead or not......
Then perhaps including him in your argument about which Beatles might be around to object was utterly fucking foolish, as raising the topic certainly proved to be.

See, this is why I don't follow celebrity news. I prefer my icons untainted by reality.

last summer i was walking down 49th street and paul cam out of a guitar store on the corner of seventh ave...didnt talk to him or anything~but i was about ten feet away fom him for about half a block.

Paul McCartney's place in rock history is secure, unfortunately his ego isn't...

I think it's safe to say he's only stupid about those things which he's not educated about.

Don't be silly. He's FAR worse than he appears.

Glam had that been me I think I'd have frozen where I stood. lol

I still think changing the liner notes on songs that have always read Lennon/McCartney seems petty.

You know what I hate?

When someone is rude to you on the board and then apologizes in a PM.

It takes balls, I tell ya...

Right...just like anyone else.

I just think it's strange that after so long; Paul wants to change whats been written into history.

I dunno....I dont really care though.

that covers so much ground.

That swooshing sound? A low plane.

Of course, most people won't try to argue regarding things they don't know jack shit about unless they're....

If Paul's ego is a little frail can you blame him? As soon as John was murdered he was elevated to the status of ST. John. Paul has himself stated many times that he was glad that during the worst of the post breakup battles he never went shot for shot with John because it would have grated on his conscious far too much.

The downside of never speaking up for anything is that Paul DOES get pushed off to the side more in favor of John. It would piss me off some after 20 years too. Also, initially all Paul wanted was the credit on Yesterday changed, that was it. But her highness and royal leech Yoko said no. After all she does own more of the song the Paul does.

Never forget that for all the bitching they did towards each other, John and Paul did have great affection and respect for one another. John regularly said that Paul was the world's best bass player. Paul never had anything but love for working with John and I think would have worked with him again had his death not occurred.

Get off Paul's case folks.
