I'm moving this to its own thread at celestialbody's reuest.

My goal here isn't to attack Patryn for the sake of attacking. I happen to know that she's a liar and I know that she's trolled several people. It galls me that she had to pick a time such as this to make a shitty little remark to someone as innocuous as DCL. It wasn't me that turned this thread sour, it was her. Go read what she said about DCL:

"You are manipulative, self centered, and egomaniacal. I'll be civil to you from this point on if our paths should cross and nothing more." [after she's taken an unrequested swipe at him after his friend died]

"I'm not trying to capitalize on being irrational at a certain point in my life, I'm just sick and tired of DCL running around here like he's a god or something. It's sickening." [what? where did that come from?]

She keeps asking people to leave her alone, then she attacks THEM. Here's some reading for the newbies.

Well, here is a little detective story for you ...

Once upon a time on this BB there was a person named Athos. Athos posted 3 messages. The first was a thread she started on 10-25 entitled "Deborah's stories are BS." I took her rant and posted it to the "Hot Daughter" thread as if I wrote it. Yeah, and didn't one of my girlfriends think that was too funny (you know who you are!) Well, of course this pissed Athos off and she ranted on me, accusing me of plagarism. AND, she sent me a ranting E-mail. And what do you suppose her real name is? You got it, Leah.

So those were Athos' first two posts. Rants on me. Now, for her third and final post. This is interesting. Raven began a new thread on 12-16 entitled "I think I've really lost it this time." Now, Raven posts another message on this thread on 12-17 at 10:51 PM. And guess who posts a message four minutes later? You got it, Athos.

That's not all this sorry little snot has been up to, but you all go figure it out for yourselves.

Look. I don't know about this at all, and I really don't care that much either. Except that I haven't read many threads since I returned or before I left that didn't resort to someone calling Patryn a troll and resulting in accusations flying about that she is in fact about 10 other people. I read her comment to DCL, and it was extremely thoughless and deserved to be scorned. But it proves nothing. Maybe Patryn is just not compatible with the other members of the board - and that's no crime.

So I propose a solution. Why not check the IP's of Patryn, and all the people you claim that she is? I read that she says she is behind a firewall, and that an IP search would prove fruitless. But her earlier posts wouldn't have been hidden. And if she is behind a firewall, so will all these other posters be, and that will either prove Patryns innocence or guilt.

Only Laurel will ever know the IP's of the posters, so noone need worry about privacy. All we will know is that "Patryn is the following people" and "she is not this person". I would think that if Patryn is as innocent as she claims, she would relish the opportunity to clear her name and make you all look like idiots. THis is not a personal vendetta against her. I have no interest in this other than returning sanity to this board. When I first arrived, it was nothing but fun. Now it's nothing but accusations. We can put an end to this right here and now.

Lit is not a democracy, we don't get to vote. Laurel explained awhile back in another thread that she wouldn't do what you are asking above.

It is Patryn's right to post whatever she wants. It is our right to ignore her if we think she is out of line or we don't like what she says. I think that's what we should do.

I know if I was accused of doing something I didn't do, I'd LOVE to have it disproven so I could rub it in everyones face. If she's innocent, many of us have some pretty serious appologising to do.

As a moderator on the SRP board, I have the posibility to check the ip's of the persons that post there. But I don't even know if Patryn have posted there, and I'm not going to find out, because I honestly don't give a shit about it at all.

I don't care one way or the other, who's right or wrong. Seems to me that there are several people who are quite content to mount personal attacks on others, but squeal loudly when they get some back.

If you start a thread, you have to expect negative as well as positive comments. And that thread has several that were certainly worded less than tactfully.

Surely the point of having registered names is that we have some idea of the personality, that the post is coming from, and can then make allowances. We can make a measured response without degenerating into name calling .

Patryn, rightly or wrongly, made the post under her own name. The person who started this thread did not.

So instead of constantly rehashing it, to no great advantage, why don't we just drop it.

Ignore her, console her, tolerate her, flame her whatever. Without constantly starting fruitless threads and witch hunts.

That's precicely what I'm saying. I HATE hearing about it every two seconds. But if both Patryn and Laurel would be agreeable to it, we could end it right here. The sad fact is, that if Patryn actually DID leave the board, every time a new troll appeared, she would get blamed. I don't think that's fair on her if she's innocent. Noone has any real proof that she's doing this other than their suspicions, and although there may be some pretty strong reasons behind those suspicions, if this was a court of law, Patryn would walk free. You have nothing on her. Noone would convict based on what little proof you have. I think that until you DO have something stronger to go on, you should leave her alone - at least on the troll issue.

And Patryn, if you would like to clear your name, this may be your chance. Let us know.

Laurel, if Patryn wanted to take the opportunity, would you be be prepared to check it out with her permission?

And I say Nay to the accusations without DEFFINATE PROOF witch no one has, it is only SPECULATION. So if you have the PROOF that she is doing what she is doing then show it, if not leave it alone and let it die.. and Yes you can get thru the fire wall, it is a ver simple procedure. But if you wanna pay some one big bucks to do so go ahead.. I would rather let the court system help with it since you can get all the information from her internet provider, provided you have a WARRENT. Unless you wanna chance it and just hack into it, but wouldn't that make you even worse then her??

All I have to say on this subject is that I think it's extremely rude to manipulate strangers for your own purposes (whatever they are, I have no idea). I really wish (though I doubt it will happen) that those involved realize I'm talking to them and stop playing these bizarre games. It's bad for the site and everyone on it. I asked for Dixon's proof, he could even e-mail it to me privately and I would tell no one. He hasn't done that.

Yeah, I realize I was out of line in what I said to him, but I also don't think it's much worse than what's been said about me. Two wrongs not making a right, I apologized and dropped it.

I'm going to be accused of shit either way, so I may as well just ignore it, which is what I plan to do from this point on whenever someone posts drivel like this.

Laurel, I'll agree to you checking the IPs on a few conditions. You do not post my real name or location, and please if you're willing to check, only post publically if I have trolled or not at any time. When you check, there will be 3 IP #s that I have posted from. One is from work, and will show up on the logs as three letters followed by a number. The number will vary depending on what computer in the building I used. The other will show up as beginning with 24, and the one using my proxie I'm not even entirely sure about, to tell you the truth, but it will be the same for any time that I've posted using it.

It is also possible that someone has posted in the past using my login info, but this is the chance I'm willing to take. Laurel, if you want to e-mail me and talk about it, you know what to do.

Both of you can refrain from discussing the various identities you may or may not have. Both sides can stop posting as trolls. The issue will fade, everyone will chill, and life will go on.
