So I brought it up in thread, but how are we doing rolls?? especial for skills attacks saves and what not?

I roll for you when I deem it necessary. Unless whatever you think you're doing isn't immediately obvious I can figure out what skill you're trying to use.

So we don't have any more mix ups, it's easy to scroll up and see if I've either missed your post. If a character is ignoring you, you'll know by them actively ignoring you. I won't leave you hanging. Anyway just scroll up. If there is a new person posting they get the first post. After that it goes in the order you posted in. This is for two reasons.

First I think that's the most fair way to do it. As I've mentioned earlier I've been part of more than one RP where two or three people just stole the show and half the players came back after work or maybe a day of not posting to find they are six pages behind and they throw their hands up and walk away. That's also the reason that we put who we're talking to in the Title so if two of you do fill three pages with fluff that everybody else can choose to read it, or choose to scroll until they see either their name or Everybody.

The second reason is because people can, and do react to things other players are doing and as much as possible I'd like to make sure that at least all of the NPCs are acting in order. Obviously this isn't written 100% in stone.

As for how will rolling be handled, I've got a random dice generator and your stats. If you think I won't be able to guess what skill your using feel free to add it but it's usually fairly obvious.

I also will not respond to the same person twice until at least one other poster has gone (exceptions will apply).

Made a few tweaks to my character, mainly stuff to eliminate trait/skill overlap between players.

Also, dont want to nitpick, but Savoredsting, I'm think you may have spent too much gold on equipment, I noticed that your armour was masterwork steel lamellar, which costs 300 gp. And if I recall correctly the starting gold for a paladin is 5d6*10, maxing out at 300, so I'm not sure if you've properly calculated that.

Crap, your right I did... Damn it, okay if I drop it to non masterwork and loose the compass and fishing gear, and courtiers outfit i should be fine.. No major changes, thanks for noticing that, i originally had rich parents as a trait and calculated thusly

Apologies for only posting again tonight. I don't know if it happened to anyone else, but Literotica wouldn't load for me last night.

Sorry again, I'll try not to let it become a habit!

I think the forums were down last down and early this morning due to maintenance.

The site has been up and down for the last 24 hours, though it seems to have settled in over the last four or five hour. I'm probably not going to update until late tonight or tomorrow for just that reason. Also it give me a chance to rethink how I'm gonna wind down our first night, and get things moving.

I might be tweaking a few of the rules. The reason why I'd told people to handle the sex in PMs was to keep it from clogging up pages, however since we're using the Titles to address each other that's no longer a problem. So anybody got any feelings about this?

The thing I might (if it becomes a problem) have you guys do in PMs however is anything after I declare day/night. I can't have half the party sauntering down a sunny road while two people are sitting around a camp fire.

I had a good group thread awhile ago that addressed this situation. Basically if the PC's start pairing off for sexual encounters they opened up another thread and linked it in the post in the main thread. That way they can continue without holding everyone up and we all get to watch, because we all know we enjoy that. :)

Then it can be assumed in the main thread things just keep going on. I liked it, it worked. Just throwing that out there.

I concur. And you can also use that for any conversations during the night that happen after I declare "lights out".

So if start another thread and then link back if you start getting hot and heavy.

Also I've made a few mistakes, I apologize for those of you whom I missed, I looked over most of them though and at this point it seems better for me to have a soft reset than for me to go back and address the minor conversations we were already having so that's what I'm gonna do. The next post I make (which is almost done) is going to be a big one kind of for everybody, there is a brief pause in between, then I'll have the conclusion of that and then we'll pretty much be wrapping up day one and after that we'll be starting the next morning.

Questions, concerns, requests?

Since everybody is apparently satisfied depending on my schedule and your posts tonight is officially scheduled to end Sunday Night. So any last words you might want to get in are far game and the I won't back and forth with you rule is lifted for with Sabin being the exception. Everybody else is suddenly chatty, at least as chatty as I have time for which is only a little more than I've been doing so far.

Congrats everybody. I did a quick once over of this thread and everybody, in particular Savoredsting, should be proud of ourselves. We made it from concept to start, and ask Kitten or Kitty or Raven. We all know how many of these things don't actually get to step fucking one. So seriously take the second and smile.

We didn't lose any serious posters yet, Savored seems to be quite enthusiastic and if you take a quick glance at everybody (including our original host) who left they were all posters with less than one hundred posts. I think one of them never posted in any thread but this one. Highly acceptable losses.

We've been up for nine days and we are three pages in, more to the point almost everybody has posted everyday and that's despite a fucking hurricane that knocked down the site for roughly 36 hours depending on where you are and many of us have friends and family who are still without power but so far we're up and running.

Keep it up guys. Those of you who are veterans, you know good and damn well how much it took for us to get this far and for you rookies don't take it for granted. It'll take me a while but I'm planning on doing a consolidation post so all the rules are in one clear concise post and that there is a roster both of the PCs and the NPCs to the best of my ability with pics.

Something of a reference. For the moment we seem to have enough people but don't be shy about inviting your friends, especially you vets, just tell them we're determined to make this one last.

My apologies, it's been a busy week, I should be able to get it up later today. We're gonna finish up with the prince and then we're gonna hit the road.

Well then, this has been rather slow of late, anyone have word on whether or not its dead or just dieing?

I don't know, I'm still in, if someone would give me a reason to keep Vayah in the story.

I'm sorry, it's been a rough couple of weeks for me. If I can't get it up and moving a bit in the next few days I'll declare it dead. And still more successful than 90% of the RPs I sign up for.

I am curious to know if because of Vayah's confrontational nature, did I inadvertantly cause a disconnect in the story?

It frustrates me to no end that I couldn't seem to create any connections we could role with with any of the rest of your characters.

Anyway...

*Shrug*

Just figured a little discussion might help us figure out how to better role play in the future.

No, there's no reason to fret over it Raven. It's only the first day of the adventure, so things started out kinda slow. If we're able to continue, there's no reason to more connections not to be made.

Just have to have a little patience for these things.
