I downloaded a PDF of the setting and I'm giving it a read. So far, it seems very interesting. I think I might stick with a rogue character, but less of a smooth talker huckster and more a blade-wielding, paranoid street urchin.

Yeah, a little distrustful of everyone but he throws in with the others because it never hurts to have someone watching your back (or acting as a meat shield.)

Okay, here's what I'm thinking, each of you pick a different home world from the number of different settings of D&D. If you've been playing for awhile, I think you might know what I mean, like Dragonlance, Forgotten Realms, Birthrights, Dark Sun, Planescape, Red Steel... I know I'm missing a couple of really obscure or newer settings... Your individual characters will come from whole separate realities, and being stuck in Ravenloft is going to be their common ground.

It will take a little more explaining, and any help from those of you with the time and experience, your help would be greatly appreciated in answering some of the questions I know I am completely blowing right past cause I'm super excited about getting this going... Soon as I can get ahold of myself, I'll do a better job of explaining the different settings you can come from and still end up finding yourself in ravenloft (The cosmic jail cell for unrepentant evil: Either you're being tested for a past wrong doing, or you're there as a warden conscript)

Those who are there for being tested: Resist temptation of the sweet gifts of the dark powers who are playing with you. Resist and there will be a light, though dim it may be, showing for you on the other side.

Those who are Warden conscripts: Sucks to be you, but fight the good fight anyway, please? Your rewards will be great.
