We are VERY soggy this side of the pond .... have you heard about all the rain and floods we've been having this summer? :(

So I've heard ... y'all flooded yet where you live? I think I must have visited in an off year - I was in England and Ireland this time in 2005. Gorgeous weather and very little rain! Are they predicting it to slack off soon?

It keeps raining here too ... I've tried singing 'rain rain go away come again some other day' but it's not working! *stomps feet*

Interesting that you've preferred US-set books. When I was over in England and Ireland I got into a couple of UK authors. All fiction. But dang if I can remember which ones. :rolleyes: I think I brought back more books than anything from that trip. LOL

oh - HP & the Deathly Hallows was good - but I need more details on the character's lives after Year 7. LOL And she left one thread unknotted - just can't remember which one.

Fortunately I live on higher ground, so I've not been affected by the floods, but I really feel sorry for all those who have been forced out of their homes by the rising waters .... it really is unusual rainfall for us - one area received 2 month's rainfall in 24 hours on Friday!! :eek:

Yes, I feel I know America quite well, having read books set in New York, New England, Boston, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles .... when I hear some street names mentioned on the news over here, I recognise them!! :D
