Wouldn't it be interesting if like, two weeks prior to an election the two major candidates woke up one morning and said, "what the fuck am I doing this for? I don't wanna be president! Nooo!" They both come to this realization at the same time. And then they try and dissuade people from voting for them, and to vote for the other. They publicize every sleazy bit of corruption they can think of about themselves. The one who ends up with the most votes, loses.
