Parking tickets.

So, RastaPope aka "the law is the law," you've NEVER questioned a law or thought a law has been too strict? You ALWAYS, without question, obey the law to the letter? And what's this "privledge" crap? Who do you think pays for the roads? They ain't free.

Exactly, traffic cops suck.

That would be me. Do you know how much a ticket is for going 133 in a 65?

I do. With court costs and legal fees it was just under $5000.

I should own a nice piece of tarmac out there.

Do you know what a crash would be like if you were doing 133 in a 65?

Death.. to you or someone else.

If it was you that died.. You'd be lucky. If it was someone else.. you'd be in prison.

Why do people need to go that fast? What purpose does it serve? Just because your car is capable of it? Mine is to.. but I sure the hell won't be driving that fast.. unless I'm on the quarter mile track.

ok, 133 in a 65 is stupid. You totally deserve that big of a fine. I'm surprised you got to keep your license (if you did).

That was the monster ticket I got when I first bought the car. Trust me, I learned my lesson on that one. I only had the car for a week and I lost my license for 6 months, it would have been a year but my lawyer got it reduced. I was in the middle lane on a 6 lane highway at 4 in the morning when no one else was on the road but me and that state trooper with the radar gun. They didn't even catch me right away because I passed the chase car before he could pull out. I was a twenty year old knucklehead with a fast car, way faster than I knew or could control.

This is exactly how people get killed. You deserved that ticket.. and you deserved to lose your license.

Atleast you learned your lesson (atleast I hope you did).

My car boogies to.. that is why I bought it. I wanted a nice looking fast car..

but I only drive fast when I'm at the track.

There are far to many people on the roads today.. I don't need to be driving fast and taking the chance of killing someone.

Vehicular Homicide wouldn't look real good on my record.

No. I've broken laws and paid the price. I don't whine about how fair or unfair it may be.

I take my lumps. Simple.

You should be shot. Mustang? Blah! Sorry.. but Ford sucks. I wouldn't be caught dead in one.

I have a 2002.5 Nissan Maxima SE

I have to agree with Rasta on this one. I got my first ever speeding ticket about 2 months ago, driving through Wisconsin. I was doing 82 in a 65, which seems fairly benign to me, but hey. I was doing 12 miles over the speed limit and it was worth a $100 ticket to me. The officer was very sweet, seemed almost aplogetic to have to give me the ticket, and had me follow him back to the station to pay the ticket in cash. (I was out of state, so my choice was either 1 night in Jail or $100. I chose the instant payment option.) When I got to the station and paid the fee, he informed me that I could appeal the ticket if I felt like it. I just smiled at him, handed him the cash and said, "No, that won't be necessary-- I was totally speeding."

The thing is, I woke up that morning knowing that I was going to get a speeding ticket. And I still decided to speed. I had a grand case of the fuck-its that day, to be sure. But in an odd, small way, it felt good to be defiant of the law and get punished for it, and be able to take it without getting upset. The whole thing was rather amusing, actually. I broke the law, and paid the consequence.

What happens to your instrumentation if the cop happens to be gay?

My complaint is that I haven't broken the law and payed the price as if I had.

I never complain about the tickets I've earned, it's the ones I didn't earn that piss me off.

Those are the times you need to fight it.
