What, no comments yet on Sarah Palin's stint on SNL last night? (Or at least no thread that I found.)

I thought she did well and that it all was rather restrained and in good fun--even to include a "as a vice presidential candidate not getting into personal buffoonery" message.

Me and mine laughed our silly asses off. I doubt the rap song was 'restrained,' though. LOL

I've only seen the beginning. I thought the bit with Alec Baldwin was fun.

I haven't seen any of it yet, but I read that it got the highest ratings for SNL in 14 years, so all involved should be pleased.

The bits were funny, and she showed her ability to laugh at herself. She didn't resort to "buffoonery," but then, I don't think anyone really thought that she would. I don't agree with her politics, but I have often said that she would be a interesting person to know.

People are curious about Palin. Interesting that she has become the "celebrity" of this campaign. I hope that irony is not lost on McCain. Most people have made up their mind about her, pro or con. But, as a society, we still like to watch her.

Saw it. Cracked up. The rap was priceless. And the "You're way hotter in person" Alec Baldwin comment... *snerk*

I can't bring myself to watch. She makes me cringe. I'm already ashamed of and embarrassed by the actions of my country's government. Her addition to the mix only makes me more so. I just want her 15 minutes to be over.

From your lips to God's ear. Let's just hope her 15 min. doesn't turn into 4 years.

I viewed the skits from the standpoint of "how does it look knowing it is happening"--I don't really want the presidential-VP contenders doing this sort of thing at all. Given that, I thought she was restrained and that SNL helped keep her out of danger in this respect. She's obviously trained to TV (I guess from her sports reporter days) and did well in front of the cameras.

I'm sure her supporters will be pleased. Does it improve my view of her as a heart beat away from the presidency? No, not at all.

*sigh* Agreed.
