What did you do to your knee? I know that knee injuries can last a lifetime. 
Okay, do you want to talk chronic pain that should only be acute? (what I am really asking here is...can I just bitch here a bit?)
Well, try having a lung, gland, ear and throat infection. Throw in the stomach flu.... barfing, diarreah, spasms. Multiply this by 4 and a 1/2 weeks and not getting better. Chalk up a uterus that is cramping so much and is so swollen that your hips feel like they are splitting and your lower back feels like someone forced a crow bar up in there and are bobbing on it. With all of this, add in that you can't stop doing what you have to get done, because you are already so far behind that you are pretty much going to be fucked if you do take a day off. What do you get with all of this....one bitchy starfish who is starting to give up.

Sorry. My grandpa had a knee injury as a young guy and his whole life it gave him nothing but crap. I think he had a crapload of surgery on it too. Nothing. It always hurt him.
