Hi there! (Or merry meet!)

I had a story posted here, but I moved it over to the suggestion thread:)

So I figured, what the heck, why not just have a friendly shout out thread to talk about sex and magick or the weel of the year or debate 'an harme ye none' or whatever:D

I've only touched briefly on some Pagan and Wiccan teachings, but I find it very wonderful. I like the fact it involves so much of the earth and appreciating all around you. I am a candle lighter and I do believe in the power of three.
Can you elaborate some more on what you would like to discuss? Maybe it will be informative to others who don't really understand the practices or what magik is really about.

Blessed be.

sexxy av, girl! (err, you are a girl right?)

I didn't really have a specific topic in mind. Do you mean the rule of 3 or something else? 3 is a very powerful number, for reasons that are not in my head at the moment.

candles are very nice. I've done a few candle spells, and they worked quickly and powerfully. I hate it when (pagan) people say that magic works when you believe. I think magic works weather you believe or not (like electricity, if I don't 'believe' in it, that won't keep me safe when I put a fork in the light socket) It's just that non-believers won't see it wehn it manifests in there life:)

OK, enough of that.

Blessed be.

Thanks for the Av compliment, yes I'm a chick...lol.
I have'nt really done a candle spell, but I have lit different colors for different reasons.
Are you a practicing Pagan?
I've read "the solitary Wiccan" but as far as putting together an altar and all that is too much like an organized religion to me...like any other religion.
I find it interessting that so many religions are similar in many things, the altar, the use of candles, the burning of incense, chanting , prayer, meditation........all bellieving in a higher spirit. Then you see so many others that persecute another religion without understanding that its basically the same thing, just a variation of it. I like to piss off christians by telling them they belong to the cult of Christ.
I need to burn some incense soon, I'm in need of a cleansing.
I love sandlewood.
What I meant about the power of three is the principle that what ever you send out, good or bad, comes back to you threefold.

I don't know if I'm a 'practicing pagan' but I'm definatly pagan in mind and spirit.

I've read a few books, talked to other pagan, spent time thinking through my beliefs adn phylosophies, cast a few spells, attempted a book of shadows...

I've never done any esbat cerimonies, or Drawing Down the Moon, and I don't really *do* the Sabotts. I celebrate the 'christian' holidays for the most part (that's hard enough) I think it's good to continue your family traditions, it gives you that link to the past, adn to your ancestors. sometimes I do something quiet and personal on a sabot, like lighting a few candles or meditating -but not 'religiously' lol!

The problem with christians (god bless em, lol) is that they have an answer to everything. And when that fails, they have 'lean not on your own understanding' they've covered every loophole:D

But I'm still somewhat 'christian' I mean, there's wisdom there, I'm not about to throw the baby out with the bathwater;)

I could say more on all these topics, but I'd be typing to sunrise (and beyond)

Of all the religions that I don't confess to, Wicca is the one I respect the most.
It doesn't ring my doorbell and asks me if I've accepted The Mother Goddess as my saviour.

I've done some research for a stalled story about ructions within a coven of witches.

What bothers me about much of the ritual is that it was invented in the 1930s. I have some books giving detail of spells and charms from the 15th century and they are nothing like the modern practice. Getting the ingredients might be difficult "Take the cawl of a still-born child..."

Paganism, white witchcraft and satanism are often confused in stories even by authors who should know better.

Back to the stalled story. Now if I change the witches for a ladies' football team?... No. That won't work. I've done that. Anyone for hockey?

Would you join my church of the Poison Mind?

I agree with that totally OG, how many people who were ignorant wouldn't go to see Harry Potter because of 'witchcraft'.

I may have some info on early rites and practices, if I can find it I will send it to you if It may help. Would love to hear more about your story.

Another reason why I love Harry Potter - to flip a finger to the religious morons of the world!

I was almost married to a Wiccan, but that's the closest I come to any religion, pagan or otherwise. I do have more respect for the pagan religions, though. For much the same reason as Svenskaflicka. :) I like the Jews because they don't recruit.

As long as people leave me the hell alone they can worship doorknobs for all I care. LOL.

Besides the paganism of Sweet Mom Earth, how about that of the darker entities.??

How early? I know about some of the Graeco-Roman practices and Egyptian. I have detailed stuff for 1400 onwards including charms, mantras, inscriptions.

My 'witches' story is contemporary and vanilla - just an excuse for some of my experimental writing.

My sister is a follower of the ancient pagan rites and religions... she claims to be a Druid Priestess at times... a white witch at others... She never delves into spells or magic however.
Crazy as she seems at times she aint that daft... She believes only certain high entities are allowed to practice spells and she isn't one so she doesn't risk it... According to her spells are easy to perform... undoing the shit you cause if you get it wrong isn't.

Me I don't know about any of it other than what Sophie's told me... I like the honesty of it all though... worshiping the earth and things material rather than some mythical God who makes worlds in 7 days.

Two of my best friends are practicing Wiccans, they stand by "'an it harm no one, do as ye will." although one of them reckons that the threefold return thing is nonsense and just something cooked up by the Gardnerians to sound poncey and knowledgeable! *LOL*

Would also be interested to read your story Og. I'm working on a plot for a Wicca-based TV series that's a cross between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Withnail & I. Nowhere near completion, but fucking excellent fun to write.

Personally, I think most people worship the "Goddess of Perpetual Stupidity".

I myself enjoyed the fun I had in partaking of the "Frisbeeterian Church" in high school, where worship involved keeping the hallowed sacred vessel aloft for the maximum amount of time.

There was also the "Church of Entropic Awareness" that a few friends and I played around with as a result of some drunken brainstorming during a Concert in the Park intermission.

On a serious note, I was fortunate enough to grow up in a christian church that was non-denominational in practice, and exposed us to a wide variety of different faiths as part of our religious teachings. I've come to acknowledge the beliefs of Pagans and Wiccans as well, and think most religions have something positive to offer, once you manage to get past the fluff and protocol many create to say theirs is the only true faith.

As a result, I believe there is a higher power at the core of most religions, so if any of you want to send a little earth magic my way as I strive to complete my quest to become a licensed property appraiser, let me know!

A "Licenced Property Appraiser" you're messing with the dark arts there Zanz!

Step into the light!! Step into the light! *LOL*

WEll, not into Wicca, but am Pagan savvy - in a certain way. But then i am a Camille Paglia fan :)

ABS = All 'bout sex - she's a conundrum Sweet - don't let her fool you!!! ;)

I knew that would get your attention :)

So lets discuss Camille Paglia - lets talk vagina dentata and the earth mother cult, lets go modern, lets talk about sex . . . ok, George Michael - forget it - :) sex in the context of paganism.

How do pagan cultures differ in attitude to us in the now, when it comes to sex?
