Here's one Grizz. Basically it states that the Earth is single living Organism. And while humans are tearing Her to shreds at an alarming rate, she will not be destroyed but instead continue to adapt just like She has been for billions of years before we were around.

We will never kill the Earth, we will only kill ourselves. Sooner or later we'll just cease to exist but the earth will go on

We're so self-important. So self-important. Everybody's gonna save something now. Save the trees. Save the bees. Save the whales. Save those snails. And the greatest arrogance of all, save the planet. What? Are these fucking people kidding me? Save the planet? We don't even know how to take care of ourselves yet. We haven't learned to take care of one another and we're gonna save the fucking planet. I'm getting tired of that shit. I'm tired of Earth Day. I'm tired of these self-righteous environmentalists. These white bourgeois liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is there aren't enough bicycle paths. People trying to make the world safe for their Volvos. Besides, environmentalists don't give a shit about the planet, they don't care about the planet. Not in the abstract they don't. You know what they're interested in? A clean place to live. Their own habitat. They're worried some day in the future they may be personally inconvenienced.

Besides, there is nothing wrong with the planet. Nothing wrong with the planet. The planet is fine. The people are fucked. Difference. The planet is fine. Compared to the people the planet is doing great. Been here four and a half billion years. You ever think about the arithmetic? Planet has been here four and a half billion years and we've been here what, a hundred thousand, maybe two hundred thousand. And we've only been engaged in heavy industry for around two hundred years. Two hundred years versus four and a half billion, and we have the conceit to some how think we're a threat. That somehow we're gonna put into jeopardy this beautiful little blue green ball that's just a-floating around the sun. The planet has been through a lot worse than us. Been through all kinds of things worse than us. Been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares, sun spots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles, hundreds of thousands of years of bombardments by comets and asteroids and meteors, world wide floods, tidal waves, world wide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages, and we think some plastic bags and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet isn't going anywhere. We are. We're going away. Pack your shit folks. We're going away and we won't leave much of a trace either. Thank God for that. Maybe a little Styrofoam. Maybe. The planet will be here and we'll be long gone. Just another failed mutation. Just another closed-end biological mistake. An evolutionary cul-de-sac. The planet will shake us off like a bad case of fleas. A surface nuisance. You want to know how the planet's doing? Ask those people in Pompeii who are frozen into position from volcano ash how the planet's doing. Want to know if the planet's alright just ask those people in Mexico City, or Armenia or a hundred other places buried under thousands of tons of earthquake rubble if they feel like a threat to a planet this week.

The planet will be here for a long, long, long time after we're gone. It will heal itself. It will cleanse itself, because that's what it does. It's a self-correcting system. The air and the water will recover. The earth will be renewed. And if it's true plastic is not degradable, well then the planet will simply incorporate plastic into a new paradigm: the earth plus plastic. The earth doesn't share our prejudice towards plastic. Plastic came out of the earth. The earth probably sees plastic as just another one of its children. Could be the only reason why the earth allowed us to be spawned from it in the first place is it wanted plastic for itself. Didn't know how to make it, needed us. Could be the answer to our age-old egocentric, philosophical question, why are we here? "Plastic, assholes."

I have had much thought on the Earth and man's influence as to how enviromentalists and those few 'scientists' seem to claim. Each time the global warming or freezing thing comes up I have to think about all the volcanic erruptions that have occured over the last few months...each one seemingly putting out more CO2 or Acid or other nasty bad thing into the atmosphere than all of the industrialized world has since it's existance...and things like that.

If one volcano can put out more than all of the idustrialized world ever has...how can man be so repsonsible? Understand...I'm not saying that man shouldn't try to do better with what we have...but to lay blame on man for things way beyond our control...

In the end, the Goddess knows what is best and acts accordingly...even if that means we suffer for it. After all...the Earth is Hers first and foremost.:)

EDITED TO ADD:

We will either change and grow with Her or we will pass on to Her history. We are powerless to prevent much of what happens to the climate over time. Small things, those that many see as big now...they are truly small in the scheme of things. We (man...humans) can make changes to the things we do for transportation or housing or living that can help the Mother...but in the end She is the all...everything. She has the final say in all that happens here.

Exactly Byron... We are such an insignificant drop in the time line of the Earth

How fucking more arrogant and ego-centric can the unconscious humans be? They even revel in trying to take responsibility for the Earth's destruction!

Our influence, while horrific, is laughable... Your post spoke volumes in 3 paragraphs

Thank you

Hi!

I've been reading through the boards and just found this thread and wanted to say 'hi' and the like.

Okay, I guess I should continue reading now.

The full moon crested last night...I watched and enjoined myself to the cosmos. Meditations were a bit confused. Things straightened out in a bit though. *sigh*

Beauty of nature, the circle complete...always.

As the Goddess gently holds Her children in the warmth of Her embrace, i feel blessed x 3 to know Her and love Her. This full moon i wish for everyone that they know peace and true happiness.

Brightest blessings to all!!!

She has so blessed me lately that to seek more from Her would be greedy of me like a child in a candy store with an unlimited budget. Its time to be introspective for me and seek something to give back. Ever mind the rule of three....... :rose:

chatting back and forth with jaded lily, at present. what I need is to be the parent I wanted to be when I first had my oldest child. No spanking, no yelling...no venting my anger...I want to see my babies' smiles on a daily basis again...not just every Wednesday.

May all the Gods bless you, Dragon. I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I hope it improves, and soon!

Blessed Be

hope everyone is doing good this morning.

Dragonhearted I hope your feeling better

Oh, it's been a while since I stopped in here! Mabon has come and gone, as has Samhain...now we're planning for Yule! So much excitement! The holidays since Midsummer have been astounding, and I look forward to many more.

Things have really improved with my spiritual group here...it's a bit scary since I'm one of the folks that "counted coup" (if you talk to some) to reorganize it into a learning and growing group instead of just a social hour every week. I don't feel learned enough to teach, but right now it's up to the 4 of us since the others feel "not smart enough" to teach about anything! It will be a while to chip away at that old mentality and help everyone to realize they have something to give to this group! Quite the shift, it's going in baby steps but each step is progress, no? The energy is rising, slowly but surely.

It is just so amazing being in a relationship with someone on the same spiritual path. It blows my mind and rocks my world, in more ways than I thought possible.

I am so blessed!

I hope you are all well, anyone have great plans to welcome the return of the Sun? We're going to have a few different rituals, a large one for the group with some feasting on Monday, then some of us are staying up all Tuesday night in a sort of community celebration. We'll be crocheting (or learning to crochet!) things for a charity we contribute to, Helping and Warming, and we'll be eating, singing, drumming, storytelling, etc. all through the night until we can welcome the new Sun up. I am excited!

Never Thirst!
