absolutely! when I was an adolescent I began my fascination with it. Mom had copper wire and made me a ring with abalone shell glued on it...she made jewelry at that time. I also began loving opals (my birthstone)

I have had a fascination with silver for the last few years, but I will always be drawn to copper.

I used to sift through cans of pennies looking for olds ones. In the process I often ended up with a pile of shiny ones set to the side. I once made a ring out of a piece of copper tubing. It didn't hold up well, but it was neat while it lasted. I only wish that copper was stronger. *sign*

I remember moving into this place that had copper pipe within the baseboard heaters...and found a ring of copper (looked like it had been sawed off of the pipe). It fit. :)

Yeah. Maybe it was a present for you?

:)

at that time it probably was...I just wish I could smooth the inside edges with something so it would not feel abrasive wearing it...

Sounds like you still have it. Try some sandpaper or a throw-away nail file and see if you can blunt the edges some.

it would take something with coarser ridges to smooth the ridge that cuts into my finger.

A cheap metal file from a hardware store, Walmart, etc, should do it. A couple of bucks at most.

gots me thinkin now :D

Also, check out the plumbing section of the hardware store, maybe one of the employees might help in rounding off the edges for you. :)

well I'm upset...can't find that ring now :(

but this ring I bought a while back..well the silver coating is wearing off...and guess what's under it? yup, copper :)
