The problem is that it never works when you say these things for yourself.

I'm hunger-striking right now. Please don't mention any of the plethora of native delicacies to be found outside these walls. I'm also getting delusional from lack of sustenance - forgetting that Irish Chef is an oxymoron.

I don't have anything pithy to add, but still this post will be among the most intelligent in this thread.
Stickwork, everyone knows that black people cannot achieve anything unless they are employed in some profession requiring jumping. Think about the Paddies; they are unlikely to be successful at anything not involving drinking and fighting.
You wouldn't ridicule a black person who can't jump, so why not back off the Paddies who don't drink, fight, and owe money?

St Patrick, an Englishman from Somerset is the Patron Saint of Eire. I am starting a movement to have Oliver Cromwell declared their new patron saint. Ollie gave the Irish a sense of unity and purpose by killing 50,000 of the bastards. Before that they just killed each other. The Irish had no sense of nationhood until the English taught them to unite.

Pity he didn't kill twice as many of 'em then we might'a got rid of the rubbish in Ulster as well.

Patrick may have been a Britton, but he was hardly an "Englishman". There was no such thing at the time. The problem with the "British" is that they're a mongrel race. Celtic Brittons, Angles, Danes, Saxons, Norwegians, Franco-Normans, Dutch and German princes...though I think this mongrelism is what drove their imperial impulses. It was out of an inferiority complex.

The "British" planted the problem in Ulster (no offence, torchy). They thought it would solve their Scottish problem. Ha!

You mean the Scottish King of England, James VI/I don't you? Previous plantations were half hearted at best.

Personally I reckon if the Hiberno-Norman aristocracy hadn't kept interfering in England the Norman aristos in England would have kept themselves busy repressing the Saxons, pretty much as the are now. Diarmait Mac Murchada King of Leinster shouldn't have gone looking for help from Henry II and brought the Normans in to get his throne back on the offer of Aoife's hand to de Clare, Earl Pembroke.


And the Stewarts were of Norman descent anyway so I have proved to my own satisfation, once more, that it is all the fault of the French.;)
