Mum suggested he might still be stuck in New York, but I doubt it. If he was in NY, he'd call me and let me know that he hadn't been able to get on the plane yet. He's in Paris, I know it. Question is, where? At his relative's place? At a hotel? At the airport? At the hospital?

I went through the same damn thing with a boyfriend coming over here from Denmark.

He got stuck in New York in a snow storm, but fortunately had changed the sim card in his cell phone, and I was able to call him and bitch like hell.

I've contacted the American Embassy in Paris, who adviced me to call the police in my town, report him as a missing person, and have them request that the French police of Paris will look for him. I've talked to a policeman and giving him all the details I could think of. They're gonna talk to some international cooperation center in Stockholm, and get back to me.

Mum tried calling his work (a big American Airline) but they refused to help, saying they are not able to give out any information about their employees. They couldn't even confirm that he worked there!

How embarrassing - we've been together for more than 2 years, and I don't know the names of his brothers and sisters, or his relative in Paris.

The police will now send out the info to all of the Shengen union, and try to call the Airlines, and they will call me back tomorrow.

I sympathize, Svenska. You must be worried as hell. They're going to make you wait until tomorrow to call you back?

I mean, no matter where he is - a street in Paris, at his relative, in a hospital - he could still get hold of a phone! And even though all men are thoughtless and self-centered, he's been gone for over 48 hours!!!

I can only assume that he's unable to speak.

I know the airlines probably won't give you employee information, but they do give out information on flights. You might want to call and ask if any flights from his location to the airport where he was bound were delayed, rerouted or canceled.

If he was scheduled for a flight that was canceled he may have ended up as standy by for another and be in route or on the ground at some location he did not expect to be at, and thus out of contact.

Take care svenskaflicka...I know how you're feeling.

Back when hubby was my boyfriend and we'd known each other for oh..a couple of years he went back to his parents form mine one time and when I rang his parents....he wasn't there.

I heard nothing from him for over 2 days. Basically he'd gone off to get some things sorted from his old life....he rang as soon as he was able and came back to me not long after that.

I know its awful when you just don't know..so I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

I'm willing to bet my favourite item - my electric fan - that he's in Paris and hasn't been able to get a flight to Stockholm, because that's what happened last time. He's most likely at the airport, trying to get a seat on a plane, and is so wrapped up in this that it doesn't occur to him that his girlfriend is getting an ulcer waiting to hear from him.

If you take a look at my stories, and read "Why I Hate Charles de Gaulle Airport", you'll get an explanation why I'm so fond of the stuck-in-Paris theory. I HATE that damned airport!!!

Why, oh, why couldn't those bombers have hit CdG instead of New York???
