How many of you who kep having problems with full PM boxes ever look at the copies that are saved by default? If you can't be bothered deleting incoming posts, at least take the time to uncheck the "save copy" box on the ones you send.

Saved copies of outgoing posts count against your limit of 100.

Harold, is there a way to default to no saved outgoing messages?

I trust this man. He knows how to fry chicken and get gum out of kids' hair. ;)

Thanks for the advice, WH! I've begun to seek your infinite wisdom, of late...
*bows head in silent awe and reverance*
Keep up the good work man!
hehehe

I haven't found one.

I think Manu can default everyone to no saved copies, but users can't change their individual defaults for any of the check boxes on PMs.

I still say the axe would have worked on that gum problem, Ruby.

Is this in an FAQ somewhere? I think it's the most annoying part of the PMs, I so wish I could toggle that setting permanently - I've no use for copies, I know what I send, damnit.

New to Lit? Here's the F.A.Q.

1. How do I....

A: STOP, right there, see the forum labeled "How to..."? Go there. Read a few pages before posting your question, it's probably been asked before. If you try this and can't find it, then go ahead and ask. Don't expect an answer right away - unfortunately Weird Harold has to spend time elsewhere, but he'll get to you as soon as he can.

2. But...

A: STOP, right there. See #1.

I'm wondering if Un-checking the Request Read Receipt box would clear things up too?

I've just always done that, so I'm not so sure if it matters or not.

Nope, the "Read Receipt" doesn't count against your total PMs. (It's actually not a message, just a link to the message you sent out.)

BTW, If you leave that box checked, you can actually cancel the message if you wish. I haven't found another way to cancel messages, either.

Thanks for this info, WH. I was unaware of this and appreciate knowing better now. No more wasting that time and not being able to correct my problem of foot-in-mouth that occurs from time to time in PM.

I'd like to slide a little bitching in here about the pm's

everytime i go to write a long pm i get logged out.

so you say, type faster fool. that's not the point.

the point is when i hit send i go to the screen that tells me i must login with my user name and password. ok, i can live with that.

BUT, HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU SEND THE PM WITH OUT LOSING IT!

When you back up to the pm it still says i'm logged in. when i hit send again it says i must enter my login name and password.

It's a loop i'm not smart enough to get out of.

I take awhile to write anything, and explaining somthing that is not simple takes me longer than most people i think.

why should i not be able to use pm's just like everyone else?

there must be some way to adjust the timing on this auto log out thing. A man could get a stroke writing the same pm three times and STILL not get to send it.

By the time i wrote all of this in a pm i would not be able to send it.

HORSE SHIT AND FEATHERS I SAY!

I'm not sure why you get logged out...do you use cookies?

Hell I can have Lit open (minimized but open) all day long and I never get logged out.

Even if I lose my net connection.. as long as the Lit window is still open.. I don't get logged out.

I just hit the refresh button.. and I'm good to go

notenufsx4me, you need to go to [control panel], then [edit options], and enable cookies to save your login when you move around the board. That should stop Lit from booting you all the time.

When you are about ready to send, instead of clicking on the send button, point your mouse right up to the top corner and RIGHT MOUSE CLICK on "Literotica.com"

Then choose to "open in a new window"

Do this, log in, and then send your reply. (This will have no effect on your PM page that is still open in the background now.)

I have the same incidents here on this particular title; my main name never hardly gets logged out.

Good luck, and if the Granny can help you again, just PM me.
;)

Thanks everyone! and to you ReallyOldLady-Ha!, i wish we had more trolls like you.

i will print this page.

He he. Shall I put my original AV back up to see if you rethink your desire to see more onery trolls like myself?

:p
