but ...... I click on someones profile cause I like one of there posts
and they have so little on it you do not even know if they are
male of female ....

Hell you can not even tell in many cases if they are human

Is it just me or does this blow anyone elses skirt up?

Richard....trust is a hard commodity...it doesn't come cheap...and yet is worth more than platinum on the markets.

All the same it's probably a good thing for you to remind us all of the possibility of adding a little more information on ourselves.

Previously mine had been a bit sketchy but I fixed it.

Just the pertinent stuff, as for if I'm female I think the "Girl" part of my title takes care of that.

I have repeatly said that each person needs to do what they feel comfortable with in there profile and to ask themselves
"what am I trying to achieve here"

and make it easy for someone to read a post
of yours...go to your profile and have a context

I think most people will share with anyone who asks, perhaps that's a step some should consider before deciding not to engage one in conversation due to a blank profile. I once pm'd a person and he refused to talk to me since I had a blank profile. I was upset at first but then decided it was his loss.

But why place ourselves ina position
where for lack of a/s/l and maybe martial status
we give someone a little peek into us

I like to also see hobbies and interests
this tells me if they are more then one deminsional

That's fine, you have every right to choose your set of criteria. I personally prefer to get to know someone through their posts over a period of time.

Richard, thanks for this thread. I filled out my profile when first joining Lit. (not that long ago) and have rec'd many PMs re. threads I joined. Many of them said they checked my profile first and were more inclined to write then.

I do respect those who don't want to reveal much though, and I also enjoy the tongue-in-cheek profiles.

I've made several good on-line friends and really appreciate the general good will of Lit. writers. Hopefully this thread will at least nudge those so inclined to update their profiles.

some of us would enjoy a little more info on others

I agree. call it Gemini curiousity, not nosiness, but I am always intrigued to learn more about people, especially if I have already discovered something I like about them. Guess that is why my library shelves sage under the weight of auto/biographies. Is not about judgement, or wanting to know gender to fuck, is about people and appreciating the diversity of the human race.

I find over all that the profile situation has not im[proved all that much
pople with AVs that do not disclose there gender
and no gender on there profiles
