Here's my spin on this.

This is a high traffic message board, and I have no control over who sees what I have here. I don't tell strangers where I live or who I am, I'm not doing it here. After I get to know someone a bit, then, and only then, is information exchanged by other means. To do otherwise is something I just find uncomfortable.

That's fine, you have every right to choose your set of criteria. I personally prefer to get to know someone through their posts over a period of time.

I'm with Silver, though. I don't often look at anyone's profile until something they say in the context of a thread catches my attention. I don't look for anything specific though when I do, and if there's a dearth of info, it doesn't bother me.

If you're sticking with the skirts you might consider shaving the legs. It would seem more consistent with your profile.

The longer I have been here, the more my profile is edited to say less and less about me.

I look at profiles usually related to an author here, rather than on the board.

If I was looking for something more than a fun ride on the threads, I would probably include more info in my profile. I will give much information to someone who asks and with whom I am comfortable sharing.

I hate this. I wish people would add more to their profiles. I have posted a couple of times thinking someone was a woman and they turned out to be man. I almost had to take a shower the first it happened.

Very interesting thread. As a newbie here, I'm still getting to know the way Lit works. I will be the first to admit quilt to all charges. My profile was totally blank. Key word: was. It now is sparce, but not blank. <grin>

I tend to be careful about what information I let people see until I know them better and I always figured that profiles weren't that important. If someone wants to know something about me, they can ask and more often than not I will tell them.

I think most people will share with anyone who asks, perhaps that's a step some should consider before deciding not to engage one in conversation due to a blank profile. I once pm'd a person and he refused to talk to me since I had a blank profile. I was upset at first but then decided it was his loss.

Anyway....for anyone who is interested....i'm 42, married, female....anything else you want to know, just ask.
