OOC/Recruit: Force-X (an X-Men/Marvel Universe game)

Just in case you clicked this header without knowing what I meant:

This game will be based on the Marvel Universe, the same folks that bring us the goodness of Spiderman, X-men, Fantastic Four, Hulk, etc. In other words a comic book-type game.

I am a big X-Men fan and have in the past run many such ORP games/threads.

I would prefer to make this a mutant-oriented game but I can accomodate for the non-mutant super-heroes as well.

I would prefer custom built characters rather than pre-established ones though. It gives the PC's more leeway to work with and less stress about maintaining pre-established character concepts. Save the pre-existing characters for NPC stuff. Exceptions can be made to this, but I will need to be convinced first.

Also I would like to limit the group to around 8-9 people. It's easier to maintain the 'team' dynamic that way. Familiarity with the concept is a plus, but not really required.

I'll wait for a bit, possibly until tmo afternoon to post a character bio just to gauge the initial response. Then after I post my PC's bio then you will have a template to which to build a character upon.

I'd like a minimum of 4 players to already have a bio posted before RP actually begins. Also I would add that we would be building a 'hero' team initially. If you have villian char. concept then PM me and we'll see if it's viable.

Also, Depending on the reply amounts I may consider each player to option a secondary 'villian' character to play. otherwise I will determine/NPC the the bad-guy element as needed.

Post here or PM if interested.

Force-X Team Roster

Thanks.

Spidey huh? What powers of his do you want to replicate? The wall-crawling, web generation, his 'spidey-sense', strength/agility? Having an arachnid-like team member would be pretty cool. I've never played with one.

BTW- I should have a bio up for my character sometime soon this afternoon.

Hey! I'd like to join up! And with a little help from MSN (thanks luv!), i've an idea for a feline mutant superhero (Think Mangaverse Tigra type thing)

okay, new here but Screech knows me and I`d like to join up. I`ve got an old teenage alterego I could dust off for it.

Hey, welcome buddy! Hope your experiences here will turn out as well as i've described mine...

Still, if you ever have free time, the House of Fun is always open...

Welcome Screech and ArachPrime.

Please post bios asap.

Here is mine:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Codename: Netshocker ("Net" to friends and team-mates)
Real Name: Dean Braddock
Nationality: British-American

Appr: Dean stands at 6'5" and tips the scales at an impressive
289lbs of pure muscle and bones. He keeps his dark-
brown hair cut short on the sides with a little longer length
on top. His steel-grey eyes have a tendency to make him
appear sullen and unapproachable, a fact that he does
little to contradict. When not in uniform, he usually wears
slacks and loose button-up shirts. A platinum chain around
his neck is the only jewelry his wears besides a watch
that doubles as a remote comm-unit/computer interface.

Background: Dean is cousin to England's Captain Britain and the
X-Men's Psylocke. He spent a large portion of his
youth at Braddock Manor and would often train with
his cousins after his mutation matured. After he
finished college, Dean moved back to America where
he served in the Marine Corps in their Special
Menace Unit, always keeping his mutantcy secret.
After his enlistment was over, Dean spent a brief
period of time training under the tutialage of
Charles Xavier, but rapidly found that his viewpoint
differed greatly from the X-Men's mentor. Recently
he has moved to Colorado and has been recruiting
other mutants to aide him in his struggle to curb
the seemingly ever-growing tide of evil-minded
people bent of their ambitions of granduer.

Powers: Able to attack others neural network, causing temporary
paralysis or loss of fine motor skills. Minor telekinetic.

Misc: Trained heavily in hand-to-hand combat and heavy weapon
firing. BS of Science (Mech. Engineering)

Ok, slight alteration, but here she is!

Codename: Growler (Sometimes called "kitty" or "tabby")
Real Name: Georgina Shaw
Nationality: British

Appr: Georgina stands at 5'7" and is athletically built. She has long, blonde hair that hangs loosly down her back, with the rest held in place with a hairband. She has bright blue eyes and a thin layer of fur across her entire body. When not in costume, she wears a baggy sweater and jeans, preferrring sandles to shoes. She has a long, blonde-furred tail that she prefers to have out at all times

Background: Georgina grew up in urban England and lived just like any other young girl. She went to school every day and concentrated heavilly on her studies. Even when her mutation started to manifest itsself. She started to wear gloves, and have her hair longer and hanging down in front of her face to hide the growing fur, and hiding her new tail down a convieniant trouser leg. Since leaving school, she travelled to America, convinced that, hearing tales of a group of mutants called "X-Men" she would find somwhere she could fit in, and not having to hide her mutation. However, her money only got her as far as Colerado, so she has had to find a low-paying job there to pay for a small flat she has rented out..

Powers: Amazing agility and a near sixth sense for danger coming her way. And hard claws.

Misc: Naturally bright, already has a "costume" that she uses when running across the rooftops every night

Arachnis Prime will post his bio in a bit - he's a little tied up right now...

correct but I`ll even throw in a quick doodle of my character in training duds when I`m done.

code name: Demolisher

real name: Dennis Hoek

nationality: dutch

appearance: Dennis is about 1 meter 67 centimeters in height (he refuses to measure in anything other then metric system) and has a fairly muscular build. he has lightbrown hair that is slightly long and most often has stubble on his face. his natural eyecolors is blue but due to his powers are only seen as completely red. he usually wears tattered jeans, a white t-shirt with "I`m dutch, got something against it?" printed on the front and sneakers. he also wears sunglasses to hide his eyes and bicyclistgloves to hide the cuts on his hands from his claws. he also occasionally wears a worn jeansjacket.

background: Dennis grew up in amsterdam as somewhat of a rebel. his joking habits often got him into trouble and still persevere today. when his mutant powers started to manifest themselves he started to wear bicyclist gloves and sunglasses to hide the outward signs of them and he was seen as a regular bad boy. in fact Dennis is a kind hearted guy who only wants to do what he can for his friends. he came to america after learning of Xavier's but due to his outward behaviour and his complete ignorance of america`s geography ended up in colorado.

powers: advanced healing, retractable bone claws and optic beams.

misc: slight authority problem and some mechanical skills. Dennis is also an exellent driver.

Code ame: Arko

Real name: Denial O'Neal

Nationality: Australian

Appr: Standing at 6'3", short dark brown hair, medium build. A little geekyish looking. Reading glasses. Also has hairy feet and hands.

Bio: Duing High school, Denial accidently had a large spider attack a class-mate, and was seen to climb walls.
Denial was classed us a freak and was sent overseas by his family to get help. He even wanted to be 'cured' of the mutation as Denial hates Spiders. As time grew on he started to get used to being a freak and started to feel like he should help other mutents:

Powers: Wall climbing, can connmunicate with spiders, he can shoot web of his right-arm only (to which he doesn't have a use for yet), he has little agility and can jump 3 times that of a normal humam.

Think I may drop the web thing, I don't want to be too much like Spiderman.

Though in the Cartoon, Spiderman builds his web sliging things, and isn't a power.

In the original technically it was a power. He just knew how to make the webbing, which was agile, small, and strong enough to hold him. He just made the formula, without knowing where it came from, it just came to him after the spider bite.

Ummm, mine has a bit of a backstory, which I'm working on, but the basis is sort of like IronMan, I suppose. Not really a suit though, I guess i'll describe it later.

Non-mutant superhero though. An average guy.

Joe Friendman.

19. Short brown hair, cropped. pudgy body, doesn't really work out. He's geeky, which is different from Nerdy. Cause Nerds learn something useful, like physics or chemistry. Geeks learn something useless, like every single Star Wars ship ever made, or the name and character name of every Star Trek captain, or even memorized every line of Lord of the Rings.

He came across this suit, and put it on. Ths suit is mostly wires, digging into different part of the skin. There are some arm guards and shin guards, which can help blocking and such. The suit's design was part of a training program, for cadets in a futuristic society of fighting. It found it's way back in time, to this century, picked up by Joe.
The suit has a computer inside it, and the wires trigger muscles to contract and release. Now, the suit gives off a 5 foot radius, searching for enemies, and figuring out their moves. So, if a guy comes into this radius, to try and punch Joe, the suit anticipiates this, triggers Joe's back to dodge, Joe's arm to catch the punch, and Joe's other arm to hit him in the stomach.
Joe does none of this consciously. He has no idea how to fight, and rather dislikes violence. He is just trying to find someone who can take the suit off. Since, the technology is alien, and foreign, no one knows how.
ther suit comes with a sword, that has the same computer and raduis for fighting. It's original design was to show warriors how to fight, and then turn the suit and sword off, so the cadets could learn the moves on their own...
There you are. A little complicated, but it's a lot of fun. I just can imagine this scared guy who knows nothing about fighting, doesn't even want to be there, but's probably the best fighter. Hee hee.

powers: advanced healing, retractable bone claws, enhanced senses, flight and optic beams.

Good bio but I would ask that you drop a couple of the powers mate. That's a pretty big range spectrum and we want to try to keep things as balanced and fair as possible. being able to fly while shooting optics AND having the advanced healing/claws puts you a bit over the top. Like mushing Wolverine/Rogue/Cyclops all into one body.

Good to go Orlanth. Even dropping the web-slinging puts you in a good character position.

poohlive-- lol I like your char. Your description of his non-consent to the suit was good.

I think we may be ready to start here soon. Possibly tmo. Give a few more hours to let others take a peek and possibly if they wish.

okay, consider the flight dropped then. just the opticblasts and claws/healing. one note on the healing though, it`s not as powerfull as Wolverine`s and if he gets burned badly it would take him a week or so to heal that up. cuts and such would heal up in minutes as opposed to Wolverine`s seconds deal.

Duly noted. Thanks for the edit.

Decided we may get things started a little later tonight instead of tmo. It won't be difficult for someone else to join if they still catch us with just a few posts on the story thread.

Will be editing the first post to include a team roster.

PS: If any of ya'll have an idea for the team name, drop the suggestion. I'm still kicking one around in my head. Couple that I am pondering are : Force-X, X-Strike
