i'm too lazy to google.

anyway, i've found more interesting info at the ah from you all than there is out there on the web.

so i wanna know two things. physically, what happens to us when we orgasm?

and then also why is every orgasm different. sometimes they're mediocre. sometimes its really awesome to come hard. what does that "hard" mean actually. how is it different.

i know a lot has to do with the emotional and psychological stuff but how does that affect us to actually come differently?

talk to me. :cathappy:

It's a touchy subject, fem, what did you expect? Besides, it's Sunday evening, everyone's out drinking.

Hokay, it goes a little like this...

*Cue - Zadish teaching pose with my feet up on the desk*

You get people, and you get gods, and you get spirits and aliens and hobgobins and fairies, the Beast of Boncath and the Loch Ness Monster. And what you also get (and most people don't know about this) is Orgasm Nymphs.

Orgasm Nymphs are invisible creatures, and there are more of them on this earth than people. They populate most parts of the globe, but are more prevalent in areas where there's a high lesbian population.

Their soul function is to bring women orgasms. Because the female orgasm is a whole lot more complicated than the male one, and it requires supernatural forces to get it just right.

When a woman is in an erotic situation, an alarm goes off at the regional Orgasm Nymph HQ. A nymph is sent out immediately and irradiates the woman’s body with a short burst of serotonin, pheremones, THC, the thrill of a really fast skating run and M&S melt in the middle Belgian chocolate torte.

It’s a highly complicated procedure, and requires the pre-orgasmic woman to be totally relaxed and lost in the sensation of what’s going on.

If you don’t get an orgasm, it means that all the orgasm nymphs in your area are currently unavailable, and you need to hang up then try again.

Why are orgasms always different? There’s a system of hierarchy amongst the orgasm nymphs. Some are far better at what they do than others, and know exactly the right moment to send a woman over the edge. Which nymph gets sent depends on the depth of feeling involved in the sex. If the feelings are particularly strong, several high ranking orgasm nymphs might be sent out.

As for the biological effects, if you turn to page 69 in your textbook I’ll read you the following:

After a woman becomes sexually aroused, her heart beats faster while her breathing quickens. Often, she'll tighten various muscles all over her body. Her breasts usually enlarge somewhat, the nipples tend to stand out while the areolas become noticeably enlarged. Some women flush red on their face, neck, and chest. The visible part of the clitoris also swells slightly.

Secretions occur inside and at the opening of the vagina. Her labia flatten and open. The vagina lengthens and widens internally, changing what was a potential space into more of an actual space. These vaginal changes are mainly a result of a rush of blood to the pelvic area -- called engorgement -- which provides a generally pleasurable warmth in a female's genital area.

As her arousal increases, so does engorgement as well as most of the changes mentioned above becoming more pronounced. The one area that doesn't follow this pattern is the clitoris. Instead of continually swelling, it actually begins to retract under the clitoral hood and decreases in length by about 50%. This is a sign that orgasm is imminent for most women, as long as optimal stimulation continues.

The orgasm itself begins with strong muscle contractions. These contractions can be finished within four seconds or last up to about 15 seconds. They tend to occur at intervals of 0.8 seconds. Also, the inner two-thirds of the vagina usually open up even more, while the uterus contracts.

During orgasm, skin flushing generally reaches its maximum. Muscles may keep contracting, and blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate continue to rise. Some women make sounds reflecting the pleasure they are experiencing.

Signs confirming orgasm

Rhythmic muscle contractions occur in the outer third of the vagina, the uterus and anus. The first muscle contractions are the most intense, and occur at a rate of about 1 per second. As the orgasm continues, the contractions become less intense and occur at a more random rate.

• A mild orgasm may have 3 -5 contractions, an intense orgasm 10 -15.
• The "sex flush" (redness) becomes even more pronounced and may cover a greater percentage of the body.
• Muscles throughout the body may contract during orgasm, not just those in the pelvic area.
• Some women will emit or spray some fluid from their urethra during orgasm. This is often called female ejaculation.
• A woman's facial expression may indicate that she is in pain when she is having a pleasurable orgasm.
• At the peak of orgasm the entire body may become momentarily rigid.

Now, are there any questions, or should we just move on to the practical part of this lesson?

Oh My!

I'll take two to go please......... :p :p

Now for a cold shower, since i'm still at work.....

Indeed, this is Lit: where everyone writes about sex and no one likes to discuss it. lol

Question #1: physically, what happens to us when we orgasm?
Pure pleasure, baby.

Question #2: why is every orgasm different. sometimes they're mediocre. sometimes its really awesome to come hard.
Sometimes you are with yourself, sometimes you are with people who are h-hot and sometimes you are just with people. ;)

Personally, as a female, I find mood an important factor. Menstruation cycle has a part to play and so does communication with your lover.

Question #3: what does that "hard" mean actually. how is it different.
Hard? That's something an 18-year-old dude would say when he got laid.

I understand my answers are not what you want. In your stating you could google, I am assuming you want a more technical explanation?

Wow! A woman who doesn't understand her own orgasm, does such a creature, in these enlightened days, really exist?

Ok... As a simple man this is my understanding of the female orgasm...

1. Physiologically, the pelvic muscles surrounding the vagina perform various spasms. This is to draw the implanted semen into the fallopian tubes to promote quicker fertilisation of the ovum. Although, in my experience female orgasm through male / female penetrative sex is less than routine. A design fault?... maybe I only have a small cock :)

2. The tissues in the genital areas and the nipples become swollen and engorged with blood. Nerve endings in these areas also become more, even hyper, sensitive.

3. There is a huge release of certain hormones (endomorphines?) which stimulate the pleasure centrers in the brain. Interestingly chocolate contains a substance of similar chemical composition, this is why many people regard chocolate as a sex substitute!

Of course environmental and emotional conditions will effect ones orgasm. As a mere man I find my orgasm varies between the one I get from masturbation, the one I get from boring sex and the one I get from exciting sex. If I am tense or under aroused my orgasm will be less intense than the one I get when I am relaxed or highly aroused.

Every one is different depending on many variables, other than the basic physiological and hormonal responses.

Have I taken you question too literally?

There again this understanding helps me to write better, more realistic stories :)

Seems I took so long writing this there are already many answers... oh hum!

For some reason, I just love reading your lol's.

<scribbles notes furiously>

she didn't even mention the Multiple Orgasm Fairies. I have one of those...she's very very good at her job.

I've put this one off all day, because it's not a good day for introspection

Clitoral orgasms are sharp, sort of "external' and I don't like having one with a partner til the very last; they leave me too sensitised to continue for a while.

"internal" orgasms can go on for as long as the stimulus lasts out :cathappy: And feel different depending on which orifice I'm enjoying :cathappy: :cathappy:

Then there's the one that I get somewhere around the part of the wrist where I might wear a bracelet. :cathappy: That one can destroy all my facial muscle control and make me drool :catroar: :catroar: :catroar:

would you care to expound upon this for those of us too tired to know if we got it..?

I have three types, and it doesn't vary too much from them. The release ones, which are always solo. It happens when I get turned on, but lose interest somewhere down the line. I still feel compelled to cum, but it's no longer about pleasure, so it is a few muscle contractions, a nice floating feeling, then it's over. Not exactly a mind-bending experience.

The average ones are the best I have by myself, or ones where I have to force myself to cum with a partner. When I've been stimulated for too long, I start to feel numb, so have to try to orgasm, which takes a lot of the fun out of it. While it's still better than the first type, it's at best a 6 on a 1-10 scale.

The toe-curling orgasms almost always happen during intercourse. They require a long buildup and strong emotional attachment to who I'm with. When I have them, I lose perspective of everything going on around me. My entire body is racked with muscle contractions that last for a while (10-20 seconds). I usually forget to breathe and feel like I'm about to black out. It's the closest I can imagine being to another human being. Kiten can do that to me almost any time she wants (the little stinker).

Sorry if that's a bit dry, but I figured Zade had the visual thing covered (good lord! ). If you are actually asking what it's like for different people as research, that's it for me.

Fisting... It's an amazing sensation for the top-- and if you're in tune with your partner it feels nearly orgasmic on your hand.

Thanks Femininity for the thread, Sheherazade, you devil you, someone does as much research as I do about the things we write about, omg.

And of course, Fem's questions and 'Zade's magnificent reply are not the question at hand and that is....(drum roll) how we write about what we have learned and perhaps experienced, in ways that are (choose adjectives, adverbs and nouns) titilating to read.

The psychological and emotional were not touched upon much..."i know a lot has to do with the emotional and psychological stuff but how does that affect us to actually come differently?"

The 'kinky' (read 'fisting') and a dozen other fetishes, if you will, are not my province but, if I may offer an adjunctive...eh, ahem, (I went to the dictionary and adjunctive doesn't seem to be a word...oops..no, there it is.) anyway, offer a different direction for understanding what an 'orgasm' is and 'why' it is what it is.

Aside from everything else an orgasm is, it be very functional in a most natural way.

In addition to the superlative descriptions already offered, at the moment of maximum effort by the male, ejaculation, with the greatest size (it grows even larger at that moment) and penetration, and can spurt that semen a goodly distance towards or into the cervix, (opening of the Uterus) and at the same instant, if the participants are on the same page, the uterus itself expands, the cervix opens and essentially dips down and sups of the semen (sperm) offered up.

Ain't that neat?

Since nature doesn't give a damn about the pleasure of the participants and desires only to perpetuate the species, (grins), then the emotional and psychological well being of those involved is of little functional concern.

However...

However, if at that instant, both male and female, (sorry, this is where my bias sets in), if both are aware that a new life is being created at that magnificent moment, then the emotional and psychological high, is beyond belief.

The earth does indeed move, the universe shudders.

Not to tout my own stories, but one of them, in the Billy series, I think, been a while, Molly, I think, experiencing her first uterine orgasm, and a smart little shit at that, suddenly recognizes 'what it is all about', and is somewhat emotionally overwhelmed at the epiphany.

So be it. Tear me apart, as usual, do the laugh and the dance and ridicule my rhetoric, you think I give a shit?

amicus...
