FOR GENERAL RELEASE
Permission granted to distribute freely.

We are very pleased to announce that Mundania Press submissions are now open
to accept short stories in all of our regular genres (science-fiction,
fantasy, mystery, horror, paranormal, and romance, including all cross-genre
stories).

Short Stories will be released in eBook format and be available for download
directly from Mundania, Ingram's (which supplies all online bookstores) and
FictionWise.

Stories will generally be priced from 49 cents up to $3.00 each, depending
on length and content. Stories should be a minimum of 2,000 words. Authors
will earn royalties of 50% of net sales received. (Net is defined as the
actual dollar amount received for each wholesale or direct sale. No sales
expense or other fees are deducted from net amount received.)

Submissions may be made to submissions@mundania.com. Please put "Story
Submission--name of title" in the subject line.

Short stories have been gaining in popularity, while sales of anthologies
have been declining. Due to the low sales experienced in our anthology
line, it has been decided that the upcoming themed anthology: "Beyond the
Mundane: Vampires, Werewolves, and Monsters, Oh My!" has been canceled. We
will start offering individual contracts for most of the stories that are
still under consideration. If your story was still under consideration for
the anthology, we'll be contacting you shortly about publication. We will
also be re-evaluating all the stories that were submitted to us, but were
declined because it was felt they did not fit the specific theme of the
anthology.

If you have any questions, please direct them to submissions@mundania.com.

Damn.

Checked out their website thinking maybe I could try selling Abyss.

They don't accept erotica. :(

Shrugs, I e-mailed them anyway asking for submission guidelines. Maybe I'll get lucky.

I'm starting to believe that short story publication is the way to go. Get a dozen short stories in "print" (eBook style) and build a reputation. Then, when you've a longer work ready, the publisher will be more likely to see your work as a reliable seller.

And ... word for word ... they seem to be the best use of one's time (as far as return on investment goes).

Ideal for folks with creative ADD (like yours truly).

Mundania is Phaze's parent company. Might want to look at Phaze, Rob.

Well I only WISH I had time to be creative ADD-like. I spend more time on ADD-work than my relaxing writing ... although, I have a purpose in it :D and it 'taint retirement. MUCHO cudos to you, as always, for ... doing and being IMP.
