Looking for opinions and observations on rechargeable batteries and chargers. I've essentially settled on eneloop batteries but it's the charger part that I'm vacillating on.

I could get 4 eneloop batteries with a Panasonic QB-CC17 charger:

According to what I've read, this charger does a 300 mA charge which is slow but slow is good for rechargeables. Prevents them from prematurely failing. This is a simple charger without the bells and whistles.

However, I could also get just the batteries (4 for ~$14 or 8 for ~$25) and get a separate Maha MH-C9000 charger:

But obviously that's more money.

Then there is another combo deal:

This is just as expensive as the above charger by itself but you also get 8 batteries.

Then there are the La Crosse chargers to consider.

Essentially, I've been going round and round on what combination of batteries/chargers to get, trying to find what I would consider a good price/value.

I know there are those who will say, "Just get the most expensive/best rated one" and that is my normal philosophy as well. However, considering I buy refurbished products when I can and have never had any issue, always spending the most money doesn't necessarily mean getting the best value.

These batteries would only be used for my camera flash and would not be used heavily. As stated at the beginning, I've read numerous articles and opinions so this is just another step in the process.

I'd hate to watch you buy a car.

No, the car was easy. No automatic, no American made. That left me about 3 choices. From there it was a matter of which one felt better while driving and didn't have a thousand bells and whistles.

Simple is best. :)

I use all kinds of rechargeable batteries for camera, weed eater, clocks, etc. and find I cant store them after re-charge as they drain almost immediately unless theyre in a device. They last no time in a camera, they last forever in a clock or temperature sensor. RAY-O-VAC are the worst, except for Chinese crap from the flea market. I bought a supply of alkaline batteries for emergencies as rechargeables wont hold a charge for long.

Eneloops are OK, but I've seen better results with Ansmann. Any NiMh battery needs to be kept on a charger between uses.

Though I have been called that, I'm not that far gone.

Eclectic might be better.

I use Energizer rechargeables in my digital cam and some generic charger. The hardest part is remembering where I put the charger. They're probably 5 years old.

Info I could have used years ago you prick.

In that case, I'll throw in a freebie:

Always ask before you jam your thumb in her ass as you fuck her doggy-style.

To not do so is simply the height of rudeness.

Pissing is allowed.

I use some enloop AA's that work well in my electric garbage can. Have a big pack of duracells for emergencies.

I like them but you need to understand they take time to charge.
