Operations Fast & Furious

Holder lashes out at The Daily Caller while refusing to address growing calls for his resignation

Embattled Attorney General Eric Holder today demanded The Daily Caller stop publishing articles about the growing calls in Congress for his resignation because of the failed Operation Fast and Furious gun-walking program.

As Holder’s aide was escorting the attorney general offstage following his remarks Tuesday afternoon at the White House, a Daily Caller reporter introduced himself and shook Holder’s hand. The reporter asked him for a response to the growing chorus of federal legislators demanding his resignation.

Holder stepped towards the exit, then turned around, stepped back toward the reporter, and sternly said, “You guys need to — you need to stop this. It’s not an organic thing that’s just happening. You guys are behind it.”

Holder then walked offstage without answering TheDC’s request for comment about calls for his resignation.

Fast and Furious was a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives program, overseen by the Justice Department, which facilitated the sale of thousands of weapons to Mexican drug cartels via straw purchasers. Straw purchasers are people who can legally purchase guns in the United States but do so with the intention of illegally trafficking them into Mexico.

At least 300 people in Mexico were killed with Fast and Furious weapons, as was Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.

Currently 52 members of Congress, three presidential candidates and two sitting Governors have called for Holder’s immediate resignation. Many of those lawmakers and political figures have issued statements exclusively to The Daily Caller in which they have called for Holder to step down. This is chiefly because TheDC is the most prominent mainstream media outlet covering this burgeoning international scandal.

Holder is the nation’s leading law enforcement official and reports directly to President Barack Obama.

This was not the first time Holder has criticized The Daily Caller’s coverage of Operation Fast and Furious. In his first-ever unsolicited letter to Congress about the gun-walking operation on October 7, Holder criticized Rep. Paul Gosar for comments he made exclusively to TheDC. Gosar had said the Obama administration officials responsible for Fast and Furious were equivalent to “accessories to murder.”

Holder was the primary speaker at a White House event Tuesday intended to publicize a new national campaign stigmatizing the purchase of counterfeit consumer goods including clothing, medicines, software, songs and movies.

One of the ads unveiled during the event asked consumers not to buy such products because the money would help illegal gunrunners.

I don't think Holder should run off in shame. Not at all. I think he should replace Biden on the ticket for 2012.

The Johnny-come-lately anti-Eric Holder brigade

The Eric Holder Resignation Bandwagon is growing, and apparently, Eric Holder is upset about it.

Matthew Boyle at the Daily Caller has done nice work chronicling the EHRB movement on Capitol Hill. Holder chewed out the publication yesterday. No dice.

Boyle reports today that GOP Sen. Johnny Isakson of Georgia is the first in the Senate to go on record demanding Holder’s resignation.

There will no doubt be more GOP Senators following in his footsteps.

But as I pointed out last night on Twitter, Isakson was 1 of 19 Senate GOPers who voted to confirm Holder despite his Clinton-era corruption.

The Johnny-come-latelys had all the evidence they needed more than two years ago during his confirmation hearings that Holder would trample over the rule of law, put politics above national security, and make a mess of the DOJ.

They confirmed him, anyway. And now, they’re griping about the corruptocrat they put into office.

Flashback Feb. 2, 2009: the 19 Bend Over Republicans who voted yes on Holder. Some disappointing names on the list in addition to the usual suspects:
  • Alexander (R-TN)
  • Bennett (R-UT)
  • Bond (R-MO)
  • Chambliss (R-Ga)
  • Collins (R-ME)
  • Corker (R-TN)
  • Graham (R-SC)
  • Grassley (R-IA)
  • Gregg (R-NH)
  • Hatch (R-UT)
  • Isakson (R-GA)
  • Kyl (R-AZ)
  • Lugar (R-IN)
  • McCain (R-AZ)
  • Murkowski (R-AK)
  • Sessions (R-AL)
  • Snowe (R-ME)
  • Specter (R-PA)
  • Voinovich (R-OH)

Holder’s GOP rubber-stampers should have listened to the victims of Eric Holder’s malfeasance:

WHITE HOUSE INSIDER:

Latest interview - Part I of II

Excerpts relating to Holder ...

Ulsterman: If you don’t mind, I would like to do some simple topic association so that we might cover as much ground possible with the little time you have to speak with me today.

WH Insider: Sure – as long as you ask me about Eric Holder. That’s my focus right now. Everything else – and there’s a lot of it…but everything else is in limbo until after December 8th.

Ulsterman: Eric Holder it is then…

WH Insider: Pay attention. In a week or so. The hearing. That – we are reaching the-the moment of truth on Holder. What do we got now…almost 60 members – members of Congress calling for his resignation? And that’s just publicly. There are Democrats voicing the same uh…the same suggestion. I’ll say it to you again – you keep asking me about it, every time we talk so one more time for you…Eric Holder will no longer be Attorney General of the United States. That-that is – you’ll see that happen soon now. Very soon.

Ulsterman: When?

WH Insider: What? You asking me – like a day? A specific day? I don’t have that…

Ulsterman: Next month? Next year? When?

WH Insider: Soon. The hearing is in about a week, right? December? First week of December, right? In front of Judiciary. The Senate hearing went very well for us on this. You likely don’t understand all of that – all of the…it went well. That was among the most aggressive Senate hearings I’ve seen in a long time. You don’t get that from them very often. That was further proof that this thing won’t be put back in the barn. It’s out and it’s a problem that isn’t going away for this White House. And the cover-up…that’s there. It’s known. It’s been known. The rope was let out, over and over and they just kept taking it up. How did I put it to you months ago? “We got them.” Right? Something like that, right? Well – we got ‘em.

And let me say something else on this. Might seem to be stating the obvious to you here but I want to say it anyways.

Eric Holder is about the most corrupt and…sinister – he’s the most sinister Attorney General this country has ever seen. Dangerous. He’s gone off the reservation all on his own from time to time. I used to believe everything came through certain people, or a certain person. But Holder has been running his own game on a lot of this stuff. He’ll be forced out and then the American people are gonna start to hear what was going on at Justice. It won’t come out all at once. They are working to cover those tracks as we speak – but too many got the goods now. It’ll come out in drips and drabs. They’ll try to minimize the damage for 2012. It won’t work. Not entirely. We are seeing to that. That’s what they are bumping into right now you see. The political liability that Holder has become. Back in 2010, they thought they could ride it out. Delay. Bury it. Move one. And they have been somewhat successful, but the information is getting out, and enough in Congress know they have to act on it or get their own fingers caught up in the machine. That was seen during the Senate hearing – but that hearing was intended to set up for Judiciary coming up. And after that…we got the foundation in place to force out a United States Attorney General. I wasn’t privy to all of that until just recently. Suspected it. Had it figured. Now it’s been confirmed. What we are waiting on with this now is the on-the-record condemnation of Eric Holder from Democrats. We have it off the record – but now we need it to go public. Then the endgame is there. This part of the plan is nearly done.

Obama Admin Seals Records of Murdered Border Patrol Agent Implicated in Fast and Furious

11:45 AM, Nov 30, 2011 • By MARK HEMINGWAY

And to think that Attorney General Eric Holder is getting testy about congressional calls for his resignation. After all, the Justice Department has nothing to hide, right?

The Obama Administration has abruptly sealed court records containing alarming details of how Mexican drug smugglers murdered a U.S. Border patrol agent with a gun connected to a failed federal experiment that allowed firearms to be smuggled into Mexico.

This means information will now be kept from the public as well as the media. Could this be a cover-up on the part of the “most transparent” administration in history? After all, the rifle used to kill the federal agent (Brian Terry) last December in Arizona’s Peck Canyon was part of the now infamous Operation Fast and Furious. Conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the disastrous scheme allowed guns to be smuggled into Mexico so they could eventually be traced to drug cartels.

The murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent is related to a Justice Department willingly turning over thousands of guns to Mexican criminal gangs, and Obama administration is hiding information about his death from the public. Amazing.

Holder Lashes Out at Media Over Fast and Furious

November 30, 2011 - 6:46 am - by J. Christian Adams

Attorney General Eric Holder blames the media for Fast and Furious and mounting calls for his resignation. No, he really does. More, including the audio, at the Daily Caller.

A couple of things today about this latest loss of cool. First, it isn’t just the Daily Caller covering the story as Holder wrongly claims. Every corner of the media is covering it. This sounds like something Press Harpy Tracy Schmaler at DOJ might be telling him, that only just one or two outlets are covering the story, but it isn’t true. She has a reputation of lying to the media, so maybe she also lies to her boss. She also has a reputation of lashing out at the media, like Holder did. (Memo to Press Harpy Schmaler: You’re blowing it, Tracy. This guy is getting clobbered on your watch. And your catty tactics are just antagonizing outlets.)

Secondly, blaming the Daily Caller ignores all the great work PJ Media has done on this!

Thirdly, it seems that every day more on the Hill are

calling for Holder to resign. The irony is that Holder’s resignation would do more for Obama’s reelection chances than almost anything else that could happen, apart from the worst economy in decades suddenly growing wings. Hatred for Holder is visceral across the country. He represents the worst and most base aspects of this administration. So if he goes, and a new, cleaned-up attorney general replaces him, it defuses a powerful weapon the GOP is going to use against Obama in the fall. Yes, Holder is going to be a major issue in the election campaign. Holder stepping down would undo those plans. Those calling for his resignation (and make no mistake, he is unfit for the office) need to realize that whomever replaces him will share the same ideology that led to the Black Panther dismissal and mirandizing terrorists. Meet the new boss…

If Holder resigns, we will get a shiny new radical in the office, without blemish. Of course it is a lot more fun covering and writing books like Injustice about the wounded, flailing Holder, but he’s a disaster for the country.

HOLDER IS IN TROUBLE: Isakson becomes first US senator to demand Holder’s resignation.“Georgia Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson told The Daily Caller on Tuesday that he thinks Attorney General Eric Holder should resign over Operation Fast and Furious, making him the first U.S. senator to demand that Holder step down now. . . . Isakson joins 52 congressmen, three presidential candidates and two sitting governors in demanding that Holder resign immediately.”

Also, the pressure seems to be getting to him: “Isakson’s call comes after Holder lost control and accused TheDC of being ‘behind’ calls for his resignation — rather than address them — during an interview at the White House. Holder scolded a Daily Caller reporter when he asked the attorney general to address the surge in calls for his resignation.”

:) Have a Nice Day!

"The System WORKED!"
"We had (Defense Department) resources there from Day One. This was a situation that was treated as a possible catastrophic failure from, from Day One!"

Janet Napolitano

This might explain the inner workings of the Obama White House and the apathy about the DoJ freak show going on:

During the Super Committee meetings, two junior members of Congress tried repeatedly to meet with the Democratic Party leadership and were brushed off. At one point they finally accused a staff member from a certain high ranking Democrat’s office of purposely setting up the negotiations to fail. This staff member confirmed that was exactly what was happening and they would be better of just “shutting up and following orders.” Now that pretty much sums up the attitude within the party right there. Shut up and follow orders. That was exactly how the Obamacare votes went down. Shut up and follow orders and we lost a whole slew of good people in the 2010 elections because of it.

But that right there isn’t even the real meat of this little story. When the staff member was pressed on why…when the two Congressmen asked if the president was aware the committee’s intent to fail may push the country on the brink of another credit downgrade, this little shit of a staff member said the following – in these exact words:

The President knows what we want him to know and nothing more. That works fine for him and that works even better for us. He doesn’t return our calls and we don’t return his.

Those exact words.
