Operations Fast & Furious

Like, let's violate the constitutional rights and privileges of the law abiding with massive gun control because we don't have the political courage to go after armed minority gangs in the inner city, or look how bad it would look if we profiled radical Muslim terrorists, so let's molest everyone at the airports. You could go on and on with this shit.

A quick look at history would reveal two things. First planes don't get jacked very often. They are literally more likely to fall out of the sky for no good goddamn reason than they are to get jacked. There is no reason to molest ANYONE over this and it's just proof that we're cowards that we let this go one. Second whites are WAY more likely to jack planes than middle easterners if we're gonna molest anybody we might wanna start with the more likely suspects. Just cus this one time Muslims used them as weapons instead of to escape to a country with no extradition laws doesn't make them MORE likely to jack the planes.

But again we shouldn't be molesting anybody. It's not my fault we have a country of cowards.

As for gun control nobody is pushing for major gun control. Obama didn't even renew the assault weapons ban so I think its fairly safe to assume he's not after your guns. Also he's black. Blacks aren't real big on this gun control thing. If you're going to start claiming that the Black Panthers are out to take your guns I might just suffocate from laughter.

ATF Fast and Furious: New documents show Attorney General Eric Holder was briefed in July 2010

WASHINGTON - New documents obtained by CBS News show Attorney General Eric Holder was sent briefings on the controversial Fast and Furious operation as far back as July 2010. That directly contradicts his statement to Congress.

On May 3, 2011, Holder told a Judiciary Committee hearing, "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks."

Yet internal Justice Department documents show that at least ten months before that hearing, Holder began receiving frequent memos discussing Fast and Furious.

“Fast and Furious” Scandal Has Justice Department in Full Panic. With reason. Careers are already being ruined, and people will quite possibly go to jail over this.

On top of stonewalling Rep. Darrell Issa’s House investigation of the mess, Justice has floated a series of contradictory excuses:

* There was no such program.

* Even if there was, Holder never knew about it.

* Even if he should have known about it, he might not have read Breuer’s memos.

* Even if he read Breuer’s memos, he misunderstood the simple question: “When did you first know about the program, officially, I believe, called Fast and Furious?” . . .

There’s still plenty of time for Justice and the other implicated agencies to come clean. But to date, all we’ve heard is dog-ate-my-briefing-book excuses and desperate attempts to change the subject.

Just remember DoJ folks — it’s not the crime that ensnares most federal workers, it’s the coverup

NIGGER HAS LONG HISTORY OF LIES

ERIC HOLDER’S DUBIOUS HISTORY OF CONVENIENT AMNESIA.“In truth, I’d be very surprised if it turned out that Mr. Holder was as much in the dark as he claims. Fast & Furious was a very strange and controversial program, and there was plenty of Justice Department participation in it: ATF is a Justice Department agency; the investigation was being conducted jointly with a U.S. attorney’s office (i.e., a DOJ district office); the investigation featured eavesdropping applications, which have to go through the Justice Department; and White House officials were apparently being briefed about the program. It would be odd indeed if the AG were out of the loop. . . . I don’t want to rehash all the unsavory details; I just want to focus on the following: When Clinton’s pardon of Rich blew up, Congress held hearings. Despite the fact that he had interceded on Rich’s (and Quinn’s) behalf even before the pardon shenanigans, Holder told the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2001, under oath, that ‘Mr. Rich’s name was unfamiliar to me’ in 1999, when Quinn first beseeched Holder to help Quinn try to convince SDNY prosecutors to drop the charges. Holder elaborated that he had ‘gained only a passing familiarity with the underlying facts of the Rich case’ when, in the ensuing months, he helped push for the pardon. He claimed that he had been too busy to inform himself about the case of the criminal for whom he was lobbying — a man who had been on the FBI’s top-ten list of wanted fugitives.”

Question you won't hear at today's Oblamer press conference.
"Mr. President, it has been proven beyond a shadow of doubt that Eric Holder lied to congress. When will you fire him and ask for a special investigation into Operation fast and furious?"

Jay Carney’s Message To Reporters ‘Screamed At’ By Sources:
Toughen Up

At Wednesday’s White House daily briefing, Fox News Chief White House Correspondent Ed Henry asked Press Secretary Jay Carney to respond to a report that a White House official had “screamed and cussed at” CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson, over the unfolding Fast and Furious story.

Carney said he didn’t know about that specific conversation, but elaborated in his response that, in general, “hard-bitten journalists” ought to be able to handle “tough conversations” and “an extra decibel or two in a phone conversation.”

Henry related Attkisson’s claim, which she made on Laura Ingraham‘s radio show. ”Sharyl Attkisson, a CBS News reporter, said, a few days ago that a White House official just yelled and screamed at her, she’s been reporting on this for some time, about this whole story,” Henry said.

He then framed his question within Carney’s experience as a journalist. “You were a reporter once, when government officials start yelling at you, sometimes it’s because they’re getting defensive, right?”

“I have no insight into the conversation she may, or may not, have had,” Carney began. ”I know that you guys are all hard-bitten veteran journalists, and probably don’t complain when you have tough conversations with sources sometimes.”

He added, “Again, this is just generally speaking, I don’t know about it.”

Henry, unsatisfied with the response, followed up by asking, “She said this on the record, that she was yelled at and screamed at. Why would the administration be yelling at her about this story?”

“Again, I don’t…I take issue with the report,” Carney said. “I don’t know that it’s true. What I think is that I know you are tough enough to handle an extra decibel or two in a phone conversation. I’m not sure that that happened here, but it’s surprising to me.”

There’s a lot of reading between the lines to be done here, of course. The idea that Carney hasn’t spoken to Eric Schultz about Attkisson’s claim is absurd, but that’s not what Carney said. He obviously didn’t want to engage in a “he said, she said” over a conversation that, apparently, wasn’t taped, but also wanted to defuse the story somewhat.

The issue here, though, isn’t a “tough conversation,” or a couple of decibels. I’ve been reporting on this White House for nearly three years now, and I’ve irritated more than my fair share of press aides, but I’ve never been cursed at by one, at least not to my face.

Whether Carney wants to air it out publicly or not, it’s a good bet Schultz won’t be cursing out any other reporters, anytime soon.

Obama Says Holder “Not Aware” Of What Was Happening With Fast And Furious

The BS detector just exploded.

(RCP) — “Now, with respect to Solyndra and Fast and Furious, you know, I think — you know, I have been very clear. That I have complete confidence in the Attorney General Holder in how he handles his office. He has been very aggressive in going after gunrunning and cash transactions that are going to these transnational drug cartels in Mexico. There has been a lot of cooperation between the United States and Mexico on this front. He’s indicated he was not aware of what was happening in Fast and Furious. Certainly I was not. And I think both he and i would have been very unhappy if somebody had suggested that guns were allowed to pass through that could have been prevented by the United States of America,” President Obama said at a news conference on Thursday.

White House defends Holder amid Fast and Furious accusations

The White House defended Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday in the face of a growing torrent of Republican criticism that he has not been truthful about his knowledge of a botched gun-tracking operation.

White House press secretary Jay Carney said that Holder has been “consistent and truthful” about when he learned of the controversial tactics used in Operation Fast and Furious, which oversaw the sale of thousands of firearms to known and suspected straw buyers for Mexican drug cartels.

“The president believes he’s an excellent attorney general and has great confidence in him, and we absolutely know that the testimony he gave was consistent and truthful,” Carney told reporters at a press briefing.

The staunch defense from the Obama administration comes as Republicans have unleashed a flood of concern over recently released internal Justice Department memos sent to Holder last year from senior agency officials clearly referring to the gun-tracking operation.

In testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on May 3, Holder told Rep. Darrell Issa that Fast and the Furious had been staged without his knowledge.

May 3, 2011
“I’m not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks,” Holder said at the time.

Holder later said that he “probably” learned about the operation when confronted with the fact that Obama discussed it in a March 22, 2011 interview with Univision.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives launched Operation Fast and Furious in 2009 to try and track guns sold under its supervision to known and suspected straw purchasers for Mexican drug cartels. But the agency failed to equip the weapons with proper surveillance, causing them to disappear into the hands of criminals.

The process of letting the guns “walk” is taboo within the ATF, because it increases the risk of violence at the hands of the suspected criminals. Late last year, two guns sold under the operation were found at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

Republicans point to the memos as an indication that Holder may have misled and lied to Congress while under oath.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) told Newsmax in an interview earlier this week that he had spoken to Issa, the chairman of the Oversight Committee, and had “no doubt” the members of the two committees investigating allegations would “get to the bottom of this program that has caused so much chaos.”

Attorney General Eric Holder received at least five briefing memos about operation Fast and Furious, which runs contrary to what he told Congressional investigators in sworn testimony.

The documents released included five highly redacted memos that mention the program, the earliest dating back to July 2010. In his May Congressional testimony, Holder said, "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks."

Following the release of the memos, Rep. Lamar Smith, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, called for Obama to appoint a special counsel to investigate Holder’s comments.

When pressed about whether Obama was planning to take up Smith’s call, Carney seemed to dismiss the request as “a regular occurrence” from Smith.

“There has been one call, and I think it’s the biannual call for a special counsel by this particular congressman,” said Carney. “Once every six months, we hear something similar."

“The attorney general’s testimony was consistent and truthful, and calls for special counsels, which seem to be a regular occurrence, do not change that fact.”

“There seems to be an epidemic of administration officials getting the facts wrong. In the past four years, I have made three requests — including the one yesterday — for a special counsel. That’s not bi-annual. And if the Obama administration would stop stonewalling and misleading Congress, I wouldn’t have to call for a special counsel,” Rep. Lamar Smith, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said in a statement to The Hill.

In July 2010, Smith called for Obama to appoint a special counsel to investigate why DOJ dropped its charges of voter intimidation against the Black Panther Party.

In May 2010, Smith joined fellow Republicans in calling for the FBI to investigate whether the Obama administration illegally offered a job to then-Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) in exchange for the lawmaker’s agreement not to challenge Sen. Arlen Specter’s (D-Pa.) bid for reelection. This was not a call for a special counsel investigation.

In October 2009, Smith requested a special prosecutor to investigate voter registration fraud within the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

Maybe it special counsel was hired back in July 2010 we wouldn't be dealing with Holder's deceptions and screwups now.

Republicans Say Holder Received at Least 5 Fast and Furious Memos

Published October 06, 2011

Top congressional Republicans said Thursday that Attorney General Eric Holder received at least five weekly memos starting in July 2010 about the controversial gunrunning probe known as Operation Fast and Furious, though he claimed this past May he only learned of the operation a few weeks prior.

Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., released a series of heavily redacted memos apparently sent to Holder from Michael Walther, the director of the National Drug Intelligence Center. They appear to describe an operation involving the straw purchase of hundreds of firearms that went to Mexican drug cartels.

"With the fairly detailed information that the attorney general read, it seems the logical question for the attorney general after reading in the memo would be 'why haven't we stopped them?'" Grassley said in a statement.

Issa claimed Holder "has failed to give Congress and the American people an honest account of what he and other."

Sheriffs blast "Fast and Furious" operation

Ten Arizona sheriffs slammed the Obama administration on Friday over a botched federal operation that allowed up to 1,400 high-powered rifles to make their way to Mexico, calling for the president to launch an independent investigation and for Attorney General Eric Holder to step down or be fired.

Speaking at the state capitol in Phoenix, the sheriffs called the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' 2009 operation, known as "Fast and Furious," a betrayal of state law enforcement.

AG Holder responds to critics on Fast and Furious

In a letter to Congress, Attorney General Eric Holder has gone on the record with the most details yet about what he and other Justice Department officials knew about ATF's Fast and Furious operation, even though memos surfaced earlier this week showing multiple briefing memos mentioning Fast and Furious were sent to him as early as July of last year.

In his letter, Holder also criticized the House Committee investigating Fast and Furious, saying he cannot sit idly by "as law enforcement and government employees who devote their lives to protecting our citizens be considered 'accessories to murder'."

Holder maintains he didn't know about the controversial gunwalking tactics used in the case.

The Attorney General says that while he was sent received memos on Fast and Furious, they are "actually provided to and reviewed by members of my staff and the staff of the Office of the Deputy Attorney General."

Leahy plans oversight hearing with Holder

CBS News has learned the Democratic Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Patrick Leahy,D-Vt., is planning to schedule an oversight hearing with Attorney General Eric Holder.

Leahy's Republican counterpart on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, has been aggressively investigating the ATF "Fast and Furious" gunwalking scandal since early this year. So far, all hearings on the issue have been held in the House, where Republicans hold a majority.

I can't wait for that pinhead Holder to roll out the "misremembered" defense that Roger Clemens made in his infamous Senate appearance.

There seems to be a lot of misremembering going on in this administration.
