I have I Pagliacci now by Luciano.......Its wonderful......I am downloading Mario Lanzas version as well for comparrison....I can not find Enrico's version....but am downloading Enrico's...NO! Palgliacci.

Ive seen Luciano Pavorotti interviewed...he seems like a kick ass dude!

Eek not Mario Lanza. His voice is to strained for that aria. Good tenor but not the right piece for his voice.

lol...I do...I was a lead singer/frontman in several bands...and a drummer in more than several. I'm better suited to sing Panteras "Cowboys From Hell" though.... than anything even remotely close to being operatic....heh

My suggestion would be to try to get in contact with GreeneyedGoddes, she's studying to become an opera singer. I'm sure she'd be more than happy to help you pick out some good stuff to listen to.

The man who made it famous Enrico Caruso. Pavoratti is great for "Nessum Dorma"

I saw "Turandot" last year, with sets and costumes for the Lyric Opera of Chicago--kickass performance. The tenor was a young guy, I think he was holding back, but whatever. Puccini's my favorite, there's something about the music that's just so "modern."

True. Puccini's music is timeless. I've seen "modernizations" of a few of his works. It translates well to today.
