Opening with Dialog

You dump a manual in front of me?

Classic.

For the record, I'm not going through an entire fucking manual to see that. I tried the search, but that seems to fail.

So I googled for it. Everywhere, they say that the vBulletin shows total number of views, and not individual unique clicks.

They're not unique, they're circumstancial and configurable by the Host. It's not hard to grasp. New views by logged in users up the count by one, non logged up by one every time, and then there's the other count bumps based on the vBulletin config.

Proof.

PROOF!

Proof.

PROOF!

I Already Did. I'm not the one who's scared of stereo instructions.

Easy way: make a new thread. Click back to the sub forum you posted the thread under. Click the thread again ASAP while it's still Zero posts and One view. Jump back to sub forum. Post count does not go up unless someone else viewed the thread in between. Log out of forum, clear browser. Click the thread, count goes up by one. Log back in, click the thread. Check post count again.

I figured parts of that---^ out by being aware of the environment I am in. Some forums do not log views that way, others log all thread views as individual.

Hence: circumstancial and configurable.

I didn't like your virtual tone against the Humour and Last thread.

.... You'd think I was typing in martian...

At least this thread finally became worthwhile.

I like how you didn't realize I was agreeing with your posts throughout the entire thread until you got all stupid. That's definately my favorite part.

Apples and oranges, of course. I don't do blinders-on teams. You threw a silly rock when your own behavior here is built of glass. Which I called you on. Tough.

What? You didn't call me on anything. In point of fact, as usual, you were sounding quite intelligent, and then you went off the handle with wild accusations and personal opinions that are just plain condescending and based on zero fact.

I just called this thread stupid and used pictures. You call people and threads and ideas and concepts and everything stupid all of the time, and act like you are always right. Then you make baseless personal attacks while wording things in a way to look like you know what you are talking about. Fair is fair.

It's the same thing you always do when someone points out reality. Keep trying to get the last word in, make some more stuff up, and I'll keep responding until I get bored with your drivel, as I always have.

When was the last time you thanked someone for pointing out something you did not know?

Oh wait, you know everything and everyone on this board.

Now it's your turn, but I am already bored with your same old routine, so make it a good one if you want a response.

Also: thanks for making a stupid thread that became useful stupid again.

Yeah, I'd probably try to change the subject too if I'd pulled the boner you did on this thread and got called on it. :D

Dammit all to hell! Enough of this "It's my turn to make the thread all about me" spit-balling!

What about "dialog VS dialogue" ???

(only on Lit can you end up in the middle of an irrelevant pissing match about which irrelevant threads are the MOST irrelevant in a thread that had been all about actual writing questions  )

.

To the OP, as to opening with dialogue or not, it seems most are in agreement that it can be done well, if the dialogue is pertinent to the story and leads into it well.

SR and I already did with dictionaries.

Yawn. I didn't pull a boner, I'm naturally this confident in reality and my opinion. For a guy that writes gay porn, you seem quite intimidated by normal straight men.

Yes, PayDay is right. You already snidely tried to make the thread into a spitting match with the dialog/dialgue question.

And you obviously haven't looked at PayDay's thread to have any question in your mind about threads that are on a writing topic and ones that aren't. But then you're just trying to stoke up the fighting anyway. ;)

The OP already delivered a middle-finger-salute good-bye to the thread some time ago. :D

I'm confused, I think you're saying this is....irrelevant?

I think we should open up some dialogue about monologue because that's what a lot of threads end up as. Some one talking to themselves.

Okay...I'll see your dialogue about monologue and raise you with "Only so long as we agree to not monolog in the next dialog on "catalog VS catalogue"

That's called: All in big boy! :D
