::Munching a pumpkin cheescake tart:: Alex, you are a whiz!

Greetings to all! I woke up to snow this morning, but it has since melted. :( I'm supposed to be working on posts, but darn if I'm not procrastinating -and that is sooo unlike me.

I guess everyone has their "off" days, no?

Hi McKenna.....

lol i've had more off days with my writing than i can remember...

My bad, I know.
We try, and oddly,
the way it works best
is if my honey goes home
earlier to cook for the tribe
while I eat at the office.

Really we just need to spend less time working.

so, Mckenna, do you get
to do some writing outside of Lit?

If so, what's your genre?

and what sort of writing do you
like to do, Henry?
That is when Lit doesn't consume your day,
and your muse is kickin' some ass.

Most of my writing i do at Lit , if its not at lit i do some roleplaying via yahoo. Keeps my writing up to scratch fairly well.

Have done some writing involving a few characters here at Lit - from romantic to the latest one im trying out..."Bastard/Dom " type...

prefer the romantic ones and keep them slow and build up to it...

I think that writers
just have to write.
Wherever it is,
whenever it is,
--- if they don't scratch that itch,
they'll get sick inside
in one way or antoher.

So, all you writers,
write

Saunters into the cafe and pours myself a cup of coffee and directs myself to the closest chair.

Enters the cafe, notices it fairly clean and in shipshape condition. pouring a coffee for myself i do a little tidying up and restocking behind the bar preparing for my night ahead...

Finishing the last of the window cleaning i walk towards the side rooms to check on supplies there....Taking another box of coffee i walk back towards the counter and put fresh coffee on to brew. The smells from the kitchen are so divine i think to myself...

Morning McKenna. Evening Michelle and Henry.
You guys certainly do a bang up job
keeping things going here.
Many thanks for all your help.

How'd the writing go, McK?
And is there any of that yummy food left?

 Morning.... Ummm Good Almost Afternoon!

I need to get my booty to the polling place sometime today!

I think I'll have Wednesday's menu ready later this afternoon.

How is everyone?

Morning, Alex.
So who you voting for>
Come on, no hiding behind the secret ballot stuff.
Lay it out -- and who do you pick for prez next year?

There was a link here for a site
where you could answer a series of questions
about your views for where the country should go.
Based on that they ranked all the candidates
by how they stacked up to your choices.
It was very illuminating.

But enough about politics,
what's t'eat?

LoL....to eat...ummm..How about me? :giggling: I can stand a few nibbles!

But about politics... I am an Elephant. Though not fully conservative, I am strictly Republican. (I can hear the word "bitch" echo right now) I make no secret of it and will vote for our current President. That doesn't mean that I haven't voted for a democrat..LoL..I call them Dermocrats (shitcrats in russian). However, my side is on the right...even being a teacher doesn't sway me! All the teachers say Democrat because they are for education..LoL...yet, never did I see any money come our way when Clinton was in office. Ain't that a laugh? And Gore..LMAO...he who said he invented the internet... oh yeah...

Not that President Bush hasn't made mistakes, but he is decent and I admire him. He did what past Presidents let slip by.

So, when does the bashing of moi begin?

Oh, Alex, I'll be nothing but kind to you,
tho our opinions of Bush couldn't
be more different. His portrayal of
'The Nice Guy' is so phony,
and his pretense of helping out
anyone but the wealthy patrons
who put him there is quite transparent.

But those whose pockets he picks
will vote for him just as they did the ole gipper.

But clearly, I don't doubt your sincerity at all.

Doesn't every President who gets into office have to repay the ones who helped them get there in the first place? It didn't start with President Bush and it will continue to be done after his term has ended whether or not he gains the second term, that is.

All in all, any political figure has to repay those who helped them reach the top..whether Democrat or Republican. Furthermore, whoever gets into the office all fuck up in some way. Someone gets screwed and people are pissed either way. Remember...whether you are on either side.. we'll never be the ones to live high on the hog. African Americans continue to vote Democrat..but what have they ever gained?

Yeh, I sure wouldn't want the job.
They'd be digging up all sorts of
colorful history on me.

Tho I wouldn't mind being the guy who
whispers in his ear during those important meetings.

Patronage is certainly a part of the political landscape,
at least until the financing issues get changed.
But who gets help from the government
is radically different bewteen administrations.
I've never been a fan of corporate welfare
or tax breaks for the wealthy.
I grew up working middle class,
the ones who always pay. I'd just much
rather help those in need, than those with greed.

Are you really a saying that you don't think
the civil rights movement changed things
for the better? Not that the playing field is
necessarily perfect, but better. And the rhetoric
and actions of the Republicans (on a national level)
has always been repression of the poor and
disadvantaged. On a local level I often have
great respect for Republicans, because they
often work for the community as a whole.

Should we ban politics as a topic in here,
before it gets ugly? :D

Civil rights..long ago...what about today?

And would you really want to be on the same level as everyone else, besides necessities? Would you really have wanted Mrs. Clinton's healthcare package? Speaking of which..what has she done for NY lately?

And sure..we can pan it, but why ugly? I would never stoop to a level beneath me. Oops..levels... everyone should be on equal terms...have the same amount of money..live in the same style homes...drive the same cars. Sheesh..I worked damn hard for what I have and am proud that I own all that I do. No one handed me a dime and now everyone should have what I have?

:tickle: Please, please...don't get angry..k?

PS.. How do you determine the ones in need from the ones sucking the system dry? I'd be more than happy to support a family who truly needs help...but not the ones who go on welfare and use the excuse.. why get a job? I got suckers to pay my way.
I have a father of a girl in my class...loves to say how much teachers get paid..lol.. and yet..he has the nerve when he doesn't have a job and isn't handicapped in any way? He's got his cell phone, brand new clothes, and his daughter is free lunch!

((((((Alex)))))))))
I can't imagine ANYthing you could say
that would make me angry with you.
One of the downsides of internet conversations
is the lack of visual and audible clues as to
where the chat is going.

But we're friends with different points of view, is all.

btw, elmo's not ticklish there . . .
:p

I like Hilary, I think she speaks her mind well
most of the time, and I think she probably
does a better job than most representing the
spectrum of people in New York. I think it was
a very very sad spectacle in Washington when
the Republicans just didn't know enough to
give up trying to Get the Clintons
What was the point of all that?

And NO, resoundingly no, we are not all alike,
and should not aspire to that. I'm just saying if
my hard-earned money is going to be taken by
the government and redistributed, I would much
rather help the elderly, the children, the down-on-their-luck
than some fat cat corporate dingo. If I were
in charge, there truly would be less government,
but the Republicans have never meant that,
except to get government off the backs of the rich,
and use the slogan as a means to get elected.

Health care -- boy I could go on and on.
I think the whole system needs to be changed
before we saddle the taxpayers with paying for it.
The medical and pharmaceutical industries
have been ripping everybody off for decades.
And shifting the way they steal the money
from insurance companies (our premiums)
to the government (our taxes) doesn't solve the larger problem
It doesn't solve anything really. So, no, I wasn't
fly with her health care plan, or any other I've seen.
I'm one of those guys who doesn't have insurance,
and doesn't go to doctors, and seldom even takes
an antibiotic. But I'm a freak, most can't live that way.

If this gets on your nerves, let me know.

:twirling about them room:

And have you seen Hilary spouting her jibberish to the people who have PAID to see her? LoL..the sound bites are amazing with how she attacks President Bush. I am surprised she contained herself after 9/11. Lazio would have been better representation..I was heartbroken over that...I would have rather seen a different democrat get it. And guess what..I like Schumer!

LoL..and yes Hilary speaks well..but can you name one thing that has benefited the people of NY? How is she represented us? What wonderful things has she gotten for the people in NY? Why has Schumer been pushed to the side?

PS the corporations...they are rich...and keep America pretty much number one in the world. The power America weilds keeps us, for the most part) safe from being smashed to bits.

Plus, people don't want gov't? Yet who are they running to when they fuck up their lives? Instead of the people taking ownership they want someone else to fix the messes they create.

It's always the way...they hate big brother, but they got BB on their speed dial.

ah.... Let's take a breather. I am not giving up or being chicken to respond.

I think it's a case of how you see things and how I see things...
There will always be both political fields in office... and the ideals on both sides will be well fought after we are dead and buried.

I, myself, love politics..love to debate..and love how someone can't seem to answer the questions posed to them. They always go around the question intead of giving a straight answer. Lots of people do it and its a shame because if things were answered upfront no one would come to hate the other side.

{{{TOG}}} Since tickles don't work!

PS.. my nerves are made of steel!

Well, thanks for the chat.
I don't often find someone here
who can articulate politically.

As you say,
most didge the questions,
or change the subject,
or make personal attacks.

Boy, now I'm really famished.
Any of those pumpkin cheesecake tarts
still hanging around . . .

:) Thank you for the compliment TOG... its not often that I'm not called a bitch for what I am. Although, what I am in those regards is small compared to the rest of me! LoL..besides when it does get to name calling...its the last resort for those kind of people. Had nothing to say in the first place, but curse words are common place in their mouths!

And I invite anyone to answer the questions I posed so far. It's easy to say "you are" (not meaning you but speaking collectively) one side or the other, but knowing why and stating facts is the impressive part.

They once interviewed people on the streets. They would say either they were voting for this or that person and the hilarious part was when asked why? The dumb blank stares were priceless.

As for the last post you are quite right..and they do it on both sides of the coin. Neither innocent of attacks, dodging, and changing the subject.

...... <~~ that's me tiptoeing! I saved a tart for you!
