OOC: WWE Roleplay

Okay ill be doing all of my posts as the in character Jeremiah from here on in..

Having quite a bit of experiance writing for wrestling things I hope to help get things a little less complicated, because I agree with the comments, so far its been.. well yeah you guys have already said it.

I think I need to shred the Ic thread and start a new one. What do you say? And I'm also wondering whos still in this roleplay.

I guess this is the question we all have to ask ourselves and answer:

Do I like to roleplay the WWE "behind the scenes" where everyone act real and for the most part are friendly with each other OR "like on TV" where everyone are actors using a role pre-determined by Vince where he chooses the friends and enemies and who wins or loses the matches.

(I don't if this is true but I always thought that what appeared on TV on WWE is all real. I thought they ain't acting when it comes to friends and enemies. I know the storylines are fake such as Vince dying then appearing again for benoits tribute, but I have the feeling that the matches are all real)

I'm still in as Kane. I think we should play it out as being real like the public sees it.

Ugh, now I remember why I stopped doing these things.

I suggest we all figure out who's doing what in the OOC thread before we start posting in the IC thread. I have no idea what anybody's doing. Are we all on one brand now? Are we assigning initial championships based on who is actually holding them? Should we start at the present time, rather than some random time in the year. Who has the final say on match results? Do we have any say at all in what our characters do? Are we playing our characters on stage or off stage personas?

Yeah I'm in the same boat Trombonus. I'll give my opinions as to what would be best.

1. We are all on one brand, unless we get a lot of players I don't think we could have the brands separated and still have any interaction. (Hell even Vince seems to be figureing that out with the rampant cross overs)

2. We are playing wrestlers as athletes, this means we with their on-stage personas all the time.

3. Matches will be decided maturely between the competitors, if that doesn't work we'll have a secret vote or something. I'm open to suggestions here.

4. We should start at the present just so we know when we are. At the very least we need to set a date, are we heading into Wrestlemania, The Royal Rumble? Summer Slam? I say stick with the present, Summer Slam is a big enough event to run with.

5. We can either give belts to the wrestlers that have them or we can hold a tournament. I rather like my belt, but nobody is likely to play Cade and Murdoch but we can injure them or whatnot to get the belt off of guys that nobody is playing. I'm again open to suggestions.

We definitely need to shut down the IC until we have answered all these questions once and for all.

I'm in complete agreement with you on all those points. I don't think we have to assign championships to everyone. We could have players go up against NPC's and win the titles. I think it'd get kinda boring if we always fought each other anyway. I also think we should stay away from stables at first, at least until we get things focussed.

All the more reason for a GM or Commisioner to handle the NPC's, though I think that once combined with the sex that we should have enough players to just play with each other without NPC's

We obviously don't have enough players for stables just yet. We would need atleast 12+ for that to work.

Good call. But I think we could throw in a few quick NPC matches, or maybe just catch the end of one ie...

"Randy Orton hit the RKO on Jeff Hardy and stood triumphant over his fallen foe. The ref counted as Orton swooped in for the pin and soon it was all over. The ref raised Orton's hand high in the air and Orton ripped it away from him, demanding a mike..."

Something like that would be good for setting up another match with whoever Orton would be facing at the PPV.

I agree with all the points sean made. Matches should be won or lost maturely and should make sense. WE keep it at the present so I guess some superstars/divas are out that aren't in the present time. Keep the roleplay on stage meaning that we play as the wrestlers on TV, not the ones that would give flowers to each other once the cameras shut down.

I don't think we need to say certain wrestlers are out. People leave and come back all the time. Actually it'd be a great plot device. :D Plus we can't keep things exactly as they are in RL since we would have a real hard time doing separate brands. I think the most important part is keeping everything planned and to communicate. Usually the wrestlers know who's going to win before they start, but the actual match is ad lib. I think that would be a good thing to do for us too.

Okay I guess we don't have to leave some characters out. Also I didnt know that wrestling is that fake. I know for sure that the wrestlers try their best to win and not have some pre-determined outcome where they have to lose if they were told to do it. I don't know..

I'm not sure if that's true all the time. I assume it is, but I know for big matches it's scripted. I kinda saw that sort of thing when I watched some of the Wrestler Biographies, especially the one with Bret Hart.

Oh yeah alright but I don't think we should show that it is scripted on this roleplay. Make it fun by doing like it was a fan watching the show on TV.

Definitely, I totally agree. :D I like that plan a lot. Just keep everything in character on the IC thread. :)

Yeah thats perfect...it'll make more sense and fun. Having Vince tell us who will win or lose is stupid when doing this roleplay. Even if that is what happens in the WWE I don't really want to know that.

Also on a side note I asked the moderator and the IC theard is now deleted. So we can start a fresh one once everyone is in total agreement.

Awesome, I can't wait to see where we go with this. :) Unfortunately I'll have to wait on that since I have class in a few.

See you later!

okay sorry for asking this again but I'm just wondering who still commited to this wwe roleplay?

The thing is that if we are running roughly 9 shows a month (Raw and Smackdown, obviosly we won't do Velocity or Heat, and probably won't do Raw and Smackdown) And a PPV remembering that an average night has between 4-6 matches, (depending on promos) we have 8 males and 4 females and this might grow a little.

I saw we do 3 matches a night until we have more players. We can still have NPC's but between rivalries and random matches I think we could have plenty of fun without them.

how does 5 shows a month, 3 matches a night sound? (We'll end a day when everybody settles down for the night.

sure sean lets do it that way but every1 needs to agree

Yes we do need to all be on the same page, so lets start voting or something so we can all know what the plan is. I already put out my opinions and wishes.

glad to see we are getting to some kind of a consensus. Okay then. I think we go with set of rules sean outlined. all confusions cleared up, i assume.
