The IC for this thread is here: Williams, Arizona 1882. This is an open thread based on the American "Old West" and the terror caused by an all-girl group of bandits called Janes Gang. It's an open thread in which you may play members of Janes Gang (all female, I will be playing Jane "Apache" Huckster, the leader. You may also play visitors, fortune seekers and townsfolk. I'll be playing the sherrif. No more than two characters per player are permitted and that only if you want to play a townmember and a member of Janes Gang. Please post bios in here and await acceptance before joining. Thanks.

BIO: Sherrif John "Butch" Anderton

Attitude: Butch is a hard nut to crack, tough and reserved he has little patience for lawbreakers of any kind from drunk and disorderly to rape and murder. He is briefly friendly with the townsfolk, but still reserved. He has never had a long-term relationship as far as anyone knows but is not sexually frigid. He likes a nice piece of tail as much as anyone. He also harbors some assault fantasies for female criminals, which, if he ever lets it be known, relates to his mother being murdered by a woman in a bank raid when he was young.

Charlotte "Charlie" Gray is the owner of the local newspaper, the Clarion. She inherited the business and the interest in it from her father Charles Gray, who had been a well known reporter in Washington until he brought to light a Senator's activities and fled to save his life and that of his wife and daughter. Unfortunately, Charlie's mother was attacked as they were getting ready to leave town, so Charlie had been raised by her dad to run the paper and take care of herself. Charlie has a network of people in the town, whose word could be trusted for fact, and of course news always spreads like wildfire in a small town like Williams. When Charlie isn't busy putting out her twice a week paper and other printing business, she has been searching for the hideout of Jane's Gang.

Jane "Apache" Huckster

Attitude/Background: Jane Huckster is a hard living, hard drinking, hard riding (in both senses of the word) daughter-of-a-gun with a love for money that hardly seems quenchable. She was given the name "Apache" because many years ago she rode with two Apache indians on rides against the whites. Her reason was the same as it ever is, money and a helluva good time. She later came to lead a gang of no-good women, each capable of robbery, murder and a whole lot of other crimes. Some say her husband was abusive and her father was too, which is why she slew both of them. Others say she is just a sociopath.

Oh, one thing I do see happening during this thread is capture of characters by people either from the town or from the gang. This leads to a question for anyone joining - are you up for any nc/bdsm writing and if so what are your limits. If not, don't worry, there will not be any sexual use of your character if captured.

For me - any captured character should be considered useable and/or disposable.

With a strong build, dark curly hair, and piercing blue eyes, Tom has been a force to reckon with when he came into town. He owns the local bank, and has been making deals and profits since day one.

He made sure to put most of the farmers on easy to pay mortgages, which gave them pocket money to begin with, but now they have payments that are harder and harder to make. Some are scrambling, others already have sold.

Tom's turned more than a profit or two on that viable land.

He's a developer too. Since he's come to town, he helped build a rival hotel, and a restaurant for reaonably priced fine dining.

The gold people who come in get their money all right, he's not a cheat no matter what anyone might say. He just makes deals, and if they fall through, so much the worse for them.

He is very upset his prestigeous money making bank has been robbed, and would very much like to see justice down.

And, his money back.

Annie joined the Janes Gang only recently. She is an odd one in the pack - she was raised in a rich family in New York, her father being a Senator. Fed up with the high society life and longing for adventure, Annie ran away from her father during one of his business trips to Arizona. Annie considers finding the Janes Gang a blessing and a sure ticket to both adventure and riches. The others agreed to let her join the gang both because they found the pretty little girl amusing, and also because she had already brought them quite a nice sum of money stolen from her dad before she ran away.

Annie admires Jane Huckster more than anyone else. The fact is, however, that she has only fired a gun at target practice and had absolutely no experience of the life of a bandit. The first job she would take part in would be her place to prove she was a useful part of the gang - both to herself and the others.

She had a nice childhood.Her parents doted on her, and she grew up in all comfort she could have. It was clearly too good to last, and good times came to a violent end. Her family was destroyed, and at 15 she had to develop her survival skills fast. She escaped being killed, and went into hiding. She wandered around, surviving on stolen food and money. She spent the next few years in the wilderness.

And then she met Jane Huckster. Jane "Apache" Huckster. And she had been devoted to her since. Jane had taken her under her wings. Jane just took care of her till she was 18. And for last 8 years, she had served her in robberies, murders and everything else.

8 years of faithful service, had made her one of Jane's trusted aides, often being entrusted with omportant assignments. She recently led the robbery of the bank at Williams, one of their biggest triumphs in recent times.

I am here, but this week my posting has to be somewhat slower as I have some federal grant reviews to get done. That being the case I am slowing down primarily on threads that need a lot of thought and threads where my characters are currently uninvolved. Given the nature of this thread, it requires a lot of thought and so I'll be somewhat slower. Please understand it's not that I don't want to post, merely that rl sometimes takes precedence.

Irisi was the daughter of a captured half white half Apache women. Her father was a wealthy Egyptian merchant who came to America to seek his fortune, he had met Irisi's mother and fallen for her, kidnapping her from her tribe and keeping her hidden from the world least someone one come looking for her. Moon Hawke, Irisi's mother died giving birth to her, and her father never stopped blaming her for her mothers death.

Even with all of her fathers money and wealth she never fit in because of her Savage blood. When she was 17yrs old, Jane had saved her from a few of the local boys who had thought that do to her breeding (even if she was rich)she was open sport of anything they wanted to do to her. Once rescued Irisi's never left Jane's side and never looked back.

SF - heh, we don't even have control over which grants we review. Whether officially for the Feds or for one of the insititutes. If you want the most basic tip I can give you though: don't make the grant reviewer think/work hard. They're either doing it for free or for less money than they'd make in their regular jobs. They're also doing it on their spare time. So, no crazy fonts, follow the format lined out in the rfp, and for goodness sake get someone to proofread it for you (you'd be surprised at some of the mistakes I've seen).

PK - character is good, feel free to post when you want. As this thread requires a lot of thought I will likely not be posting for either character as quickly as I'd like this week owing to workload.

Tom is an attractive young man working in the newspaper under Charlie's supervision. Specifically, he is an editor, making sure that words go right where they are supposed to go, and with the spelling they are supposed to keep. He also helps the reporters themselves, suggesting catchy titles for news, hurrying around with food or coffee... he is a strange mix of editor and intern. But this does not mean that he is stupid, quite the opposite. He is pretty smart, it's just that his upbringing really shows.

Tom is honest, kind, a friend to have around if you ever need to talk about anything. His parents are ranchers in the other corner of Arizona, and he writes regularly to them. They tried raising him as a rancher, but it could be seen right from the start that Tom was not really made for that. Whatever God's plans were for him, the work of a rancher was not the intended one.

Tom is quite thin and a bit tall, making him look like he grew among swamp plants (thankfully, his looks and clothes are inmaculate as befits a newspaper editor). He definitely doesn't look like the kind of guy to be able to stand up for himself, or even consider the idea, although looks are deceptive. His hair is short, although always a bit tousled by his hurrying around between errands and work. His usual attire is composed of black shoes, grey pants and vest, and a pure white shirt together with a black bowtie that he puts on in special occasions. He is pretty attractive for a scrawny-looking guy, but he is not too comfortable out of the newspaper office so he might not seem like the brightest or most charming guy around...

Channer is the new bartender in the town's saloon after the old bartender ditched town because of the Jane's Gang. He's had at least a few up-close encounters with the Jane's Gang, being mugged about twice and held hostage once. Somehow still alive to tell the tale, not that he would, he's developed a fear towards the gang of women. A phobia, you could say.

P.S.: As for as bdsm goes, I'm okay with anything that isn't too extreme and doesn't involve the 'backdoor' >_>;;;

Kacy lived on the BIG T ranch all her life. Her mother had gone back to civilization when she was only 4 years old leaving her with her father Big Joe Morgan. They owned the largest horse ranch in the county. the horses that they bread where known to be the best. a small heard of 2500 long horns also kept them busy.

When Big Joe died suddenly of a heart attach Kacy steped up and took over the ranch as her father had wanted and prepared her to do.She was known to be an honest law abiding citizen. The men that worked for her on the ranch had no complaints except maybe that she refused to have liqure on her land. But she always gave them saturdays off to do as they pleased.

Living on the Big T Kacy usually did not make it into town but she had heard tell of a gang of wemon running around terrorizing the good people of the comunnity.
