Noctourne is good to go to the danger room. Since she's an established character and you filled out the profile she's now on the list of active X-Men.

And both Skoll and Feron (damn you guys are doing good) are looking good.

The students (So far Feron, Skoll, Warfly and Specter: Wraith is a created character but he's already been in the X-Men thread before this so he graduated there) are going to get the opportunity to interact with each other.

Share your histories, get to know the fellow students and figure out what to do to impress the senior staff and become X-Men.

Very good job so far guys and I'll give you a clue as to what to expect over the next week.

-We are going to do a danger room session that will allow us to include and practice about every main facet of the thread

-Don't worry about making mistakes as a lot of the bugs will be worked out here

-Mistakes are part of the game. That's why I'm leaning toward making the points system carry over into the real missions. Pay attention to your own points if another player can find your mistake they may be able to use that to gain an attack against you.

-Remember that damage can be done via points and location. So Wolverine's 50 point stab toward a heart can equal death despite how much damage it may produce.

-If anyone remebers the rp from last summer I will say that the original intention for the first mission will be the intent behind the first Danger Room exercise.

At first it may frustrate you but bear with it. It is done intentionally so that we will learn the most overlooked aspect of rping but the most necessary in a superhero universe.

I can't wait!

PS-We may have some REAL competition over the team leader positions. Woohoo!

EDITED TO ADD: Whoops I didn't realize Feron was a marvel character. Still making him a student for now is good. It will be interesting to see how students react when they see one of their own graduate.

PS-Perfect choice for X-Calibre, I worried the team may need to go out and recruit!

Yeah, he is an established character in the Marvel world, but we can say this Feron is the latest generation of Feron's (All of his ancestors were named Feron as well) and is training at the school for now.

Hope it works out!

Okay so these are the options availablee.

DONT ACCEPT THE MISSION

1. Just do nothing all together
2. Gather more information while still at Xavier's.

The first choice means you won't waste anytime. Say another problem comes up? No sense using all your energies if its not important.

The second choice means since you aren't saying whether you accept or not you don't have to go. Using the X-Men's resources and the information available you can try to glean more than is readily apparent.

ACCEPT THE MISSiON

1. You can still gather more informatiion at the mansion. That way you can agree on who leads (picks) the team and who and how many should go before you deploy

2. Gather info in the air. Some but not all of what can be done in the mansion can be done in the air. Doing this will save time as not leaving will mean events will happen on the site that would not have happened yet if you left quicker

3. Just go and gather info on the ground. By far the most informative method but also the most dangerous. Did you bring enough people? Did you bring the right personnel?

Oh one more detail I'm adding to the thread is location. It will work like battleship. I think that's pretty easy to understand and it may seem a little silly but it will eventually become part of the gameplay and allow for more precise language when we describe where someone is at.

LOCATION

-Works on the BATTLESHIP system using alphabets and numbers

Nevada

ONE|4.5.6.7.8.9|TWO|4.5.6.7.8.9|THREE|.5.6.7.8.9|FOUR.5.6.7.8.9.....etc
A
B
C
D Sentinel Complex
E
F
G
H
I
J

So the Sentinel Complex is between D-TWO.5 all the way to D-THREE.5

Now that is just the state of Nevada.

The same system will work for the map of the World, countries and Cities. The scope and scale will just be changed depending on the type of map. A letter and number on the World map might house or represent a couple of countries on the Country map a couple of states on the state map a city, and on the city map a neighborhood or exact location.

I'll tweak it a bit and put it in the beginning of the thread but it was just an FYI it won't become important until one of the missions.

ok, im gonna look at the ic thread cos it looks like i've missed something.

Okay since the mission has been accepted another thread has been started.

Technically Danger Room Simulations are done within the Xavier Institute thread because anything that happens at or in the institute is done in that thread.

But since this training is supposed to be a full simulation just to give you an idea of how missions work I started the new thread.

So whoever decides to "Go to" the sentinel plant will "go to" the thread.

This will make it important to pay attention and read every post.

If you are IN THE MANSION then your posts are there even if it is communicating with the team away from the mansion.

So the team that is away from the mansion will respond in their thread.

And don't worry about mistakes cause I made one myself. Technically the Xavier part should be at the institute so I'm going to edit.

Wraith Bio & info

Wraith: Background & Powers

Name: Kyle Greystone
Codename: Wraith
Physical description (human form): 6’2” 220 lbs Blonde Hair, slightly luminescent lavender eyes. He is clean-shaven and muscular, with no scars, tattoos, or piercings.
28 years old.
(Hero Form): Black organic armor covers his entire body, ending in a crown of horns around his head. There are no mouth or nose-holes, and his entire eyes glow a lavender color. (Basically, He looks very close to what Top Cow’s Darkness character looks like)

Powers: Almost all of Wraiths powers are based on Darkness and shadow. Some will only work at night, others are active at will.

Offensive Powers: He can form his fingers into diamond-hard sharpened claws that can rip through steel.(10-25 points, Armor Piercing, ignores 20% of damage reduction)
His strength is enhanced (he can lift over 1700lbs) and has a greatly enhanced agility also (equal to Nightcrawlers).(5-15 points if augmenting claw damage, 45% dodge rating on attacks from agility & training)

He can fire blasts of solid darkness from his hands, which strike with a powerful blow.(5-100 points. Can vary the power of the energy blast. Hit very hard with a high knockback )
He can also fire a webbing-like fluid from the tops of his hands, ensnaring foes in an organic mesh. This webbing lasts until Sunrise, when it dissolves into shadows. (10 points)

Defensive Powers: His armor, which is of an organic nature, is strong enough to withstand the blast of a .357 Magnum at point-blank range, while not impeding his movement at all. It acts like a second skin to Wraith. Also, it is cool to the touch (about 65o) (45% damage reduction)
When in darkness or shadows Wraith can shift himself into Shadowform, effectively phasing himself out of the physical plane. While in the form the only attacks that can touch him are light-based (not energy) attacks. Exposure to a bright light source will also throw him back into solid form. (25 points)
He can also create a field of impenetrable darkness, centered on a location within ten meters of himself, that can extend anywhere from ten meters to one hundred meters in
diameter. No form of vision can penetrate the field, including infravision. Wraith is immune to this field. (He can see normally.)(5 points, increase dodge by 30%, can be countered with sonar, etc. must concentrate to keep it up, )

Telepaths contact is difficult with Wraith when he is in his armored form. Telepaths have said to get a “madness resonance “from his shields (a by-product of his connection with the plane of Shadow.). Attempting to break his shields takes a powerful and skilled Telepath. Wraith has no control over this power, and cannot lower it. It is always active in his armored form, and somewhat lessened in his human form.

Movement Powers: Wraith can form batlike wings from his back. He can fly at about 45 mph. This Power only works in darkness or at night.(15-35 points)
He can teleport from shadow to shadow (Shadowstep). The Range of this is up to 200 meters away. This Power only works if in shadows or darkness and he must know where he is going.(5 points)
Wraith can also shift himself and up to 7000lbs of matter to the Demiplane of Shadow. He can then move it back to the same location or a different one he knows well. This Power only works in shadows or darkness. This power will only transport willing passengers.(50 points)

Miscellaneous Powers: Wraith Is Immune to aging. He does not need to eat, nor does he create bodily waste. He does not sleep, and does not breathe (hero form only). He is immune to most radiation, & high and low pressure conditions (he can survive in a vacuum and in high-pressure conditions).
His sight is such that Darkness is like daylight to him. No form of darkness affects his vision (clouds, smoke, etc. do though)
His most powerful ability is his ability to reach out to shadow and summon sixteen minions to his side. He can summon multiple different kinds of creatures (From goblinoid “Boyz”, to huge hulking Ogres, Huge Mastiffs (which he refers to as 'The Pack", or vaguely wyvern-like flying creatures. Two things always stay the same. They all have eyes that are similar to Wraiths, and 15 of them are alike, the 16th is a four-foot tall goblinoid creature wearing street garb and carrying a Colt Python .50 cal. handgun. His name is Squint, and he is, for lack of a better term, Wraiths henchman. He is smarter than most of the creatures Wraith summons, and has a distinct personality and a mind of his own (mostly). Wraith’s summoning power only works in Darkness or in heavy shadows.(75 points)

Vulnerabilities: Most of Wraiths powers are lessened or do not work in bright light or sunlight. His summon will only work underground (a building or room with no windows counts as underground for this purpose) or at night. His entangle disintegrates in light, the more intense the quicker it is destroyed. (About 30 minutes in sunlight, one minute in a light-based attack) Also, all of his powers except for his life support powers (aging, etc.) shut down completely if he is standing on Holy Ground.
He takes increased damage to his vision from light-based attacks, and bright light bothers him in human and hero form.
Attacks based on light (not energy) do more damage to him than other attacks.
Wraith is a mutant and is detectable as such by beings that can detect him as one.

Background: Kyle Greystone was born into a wealthy family with every opportunity in life available to him. Some are born with a silver spoon; Kyle’s was a platinum one. Kyle’s father and mother both were from old money, but they were always looking forward. First with computers, then bio-genetics, until by his fourteenth birthday his family controlled one of the largest bio-genetics and engineering companies in the world.
Then in one night, it all came crashing down around him.
Three weeks after his fourteenth birthday his family was attacked by an assassin hired by a rival bio-genecist. The assassin was the mutant known as Sabertooth. He defeated the security of the mansion, and slew his younger brother and sister in their beds. His parents were next, but his mother managed to scream once before the killers claws silenced her forever. Kyle’s older sister, Rebecca, made it into his room just before Sabertooth, and she was struck and thrown into Kyle, knocking them both to the floor and covering them in blood. This was when Kyle manifested his powers. The shadows in the room exploded into motion, swirling around the young mutant, and he and his sister vanished into shadow seconds before Sabertooth could finish the job.
He later awoke in his grandparent’s farm in New York his torn and bloody sister barely breathing in his arms. She got to the hospital in time to save her life, but the attack left her paralyzed from the waist down.
They stayed on the farm for two more years until Bekka was 18, and she inherited the family business. Against her grandparents wishes, she and Kyle moved back to the mansion, and she regained control of the company. Under her control, the company moved away from bio-engineering, and into micro-engineering and powersuit/military research and development. The company grew wealthier with her guidance, and now was one of the leading providers of mobile armor and weaponry to the U.S. Government.
During this time Kyle was learning more about his powers and abilities. In the two years on the farm he learned how to cloak himself in darkness, and his strength and agility grew to more than human. His eyes also grew much more sensitive to light, and he slept less and less. On his eighteenth birthday, his powers completely manifested and he shifted completely to Shadow. There his education really began.

Wraiths year in shadow is still mostly a blur. He learned what he was, what he could be, and how to control his powers. He met the ruler of the land, a beautiful woman with dusky skin and brightly glowing eyes, Llandra, the Mistress of Shadow. She is the Goddess that rules the Plane, and she had plans for Wraith. She, along with her underlings, taught him what he needed to know to begin to control and use his powers, and then she taught him how to move from Shadow to the other Realms. On that day Wraith shifted back to Texas, and his life changed again.
The next 3 years Wraith was the unofficial protector of the city of San Antonio, Texas. Street gangs, pushers, and a low-classed supervillians. All this changed with a fight with the villain known as Carrion, a villain whose powers were similar to Sabertooth, but nowhere near his league. In that fight Wraith went bezerk, and for the first time he took a life. He ripped the still-beating heart from his chest, and threw him down on the street. When he came back to his senses, he realized what he had done, and left his home and family.
Another year and a half passed as Kyle wandered in search of something. He kept in touch with his sister, letting her know he was alive, but not coming home. It was in Canada that he heard of a man named Xavier, and that he helped mutants learn to control their abilities. So that night, Kyle embraced the shadows for the first time in a year, and took to the skies, bound for Salem, and Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.

Kyle’s first few days at the school were not very good ones. He got on Wolverine’s bad side almost immediately. (He panicked when Wolvie got in his face and shifted to his armored form, and blasted him through a wall. Only Storm saved him from his claws, and it took him months to earn the veteran X-man’s trust.). The lessons he learned were sometimes harsh, often physically and mentally challenging and he began to wonder if he had made the right choice. Eventually, he was accepted as part of the team, and became an X-Man.
Not all his lessons were in his control and use of his powers. During his time with the X-men he met a young woman, Jubilee, and they grew fond of each other. Many a night was spent with her, sneaking out to hit clubs, or just spending quiet nights alone. Eventually, he fell in love with her. Life was perfect for a while, until one night he was summoned from their bed to Shadow. The Lady of Shadow requested an audience with her Knight. Both Kyle and Jubilee were transported to her audience chamber. The conversation that ensued changed his relationship and his life. He was told that she had chosen him as her Consort, and bestowed him the title of Prince, and then told him he could return with his “plaything”. She would collect him at her leisure. Kyle quickly transported both of them back to their room, and that’s where Jubilee blew up at him.
The fight was not pretty, and by the end of it Wraith shifted through Shadow back to Canada, and stayed away for a month, wandering the wilds there. When he finally returned, Jubilee had left the X-men to sort things out for herself. From that point on Wraith has not assumed his human form, and has spent more and more time alone, stalking the streets of New York, defending them as he did his home in Texas. A year passed before the lovers met again. Words were spoken, feelings let loose, and eventually two people realize that love is more powerful that stubbornness. Jubilee rejoined the X-Men, taking on a more senior role as a teacher and warrior, while Wraith went inactive, spending more time getting involved with his families company and using his powers only when absolutely necessary. Eight months passed before Kyle and Jubilee had a chance to have a holiday together. Jubilee told Rogue that she would be at a school in Germany (in reality they were going to the coast of Spain for a romantic vacation, traveling via Shadow) and they left the mansion. When they arrived in Shadow Wraith found that his transport power had been blocked, and that his presence was requested by his Mistress. Kissing Jubilee and telling her he would be back shortly, Wraith left to report to his Queen. That was the last Jubilee saw of Wraith for eight long months. Eventually Wraith did return. Words were said, heated words on Jubilee’s part, but eventually Kyle did get a chance to explain. He had been sent on a mission to capture an agent of Shadow who had sold out to the Sect of Light, the Angelicus. It was a long and dangerous mission, spanning more than one dimension, but eventually Wraith was successful and returned. Eventually they worked things out, and then Kyle did something that completely surprised Jube. He proposed. She asked for two weeks to think things over, and a week later they left shadow, emerging in the dead of night in a small town in Germany….

Good to go. Wraith is now fully active.

I'm going to put the stats you wrote in order for clarity and to check over them but you're ready to rumble as TJ put it.

Codename:Skoll

Real Name: Unknown (likes to be called Eirik, perhaps a residual memory?)

Bio: Discovered in the furthest reaches of the norweigan wilderness by Wolverine, in a near feral state. Was being hunted by Lapp herdsman for his raids on their Reindeer herds, who named him Skoll, after the son of the wolf god Fenrir of norse mythology. Wolverine was able to bring some semblance of humanity back to him. Skoll has no knowledge of where he came from or who he was before, save that he "remembers ten winters" putting his age most likely between 13 and 16. his status as true mutant is not certain given the strange specifics of his abilities. It is thought he may be a genetically engineered and augmented human or perhaps an alien experiment some even say that he is actually the son of the Wolf God. Has developed a filial bond with Wolverine, who has a fatherly tendency toward the young creature. He is 7 feet tall and weighs almost 800 pounds. His body has some distinctly human features such as his eyes and general facial structure. his mouth and nose region is strangely elongated, that in conjunction with his long fangs, clawed feet, and beast-like fur gives him a distinctly wolf like appearance that makes many uncomfortable and some downright frightened around him. He is fierce warrior but is really a kind though slightly ornery soul.

Powers: He has superhuman strength and agility, similar to Beast. His skin is extremely tough and resistant to damage. His skeletal structure is very strange, featuring a fused ribcage that acts like a wall around his internal organs. His bones are also extremely strong and dense, and not made of pure calcium but rather an alloy-like substance feature calcium, very large deposits of carbon and iron, as well ceramic compounds. In each arm he has a two foot long retractable blade made of a very dense and sharp metal that is weaker then adamantium, but still extraordinary considering its natural placement in his body. he can also channel bolts of lightning from his right hand, which has been tattooed with strange runic markings, which an examination by Dr. Strange purports may have great magical potential. He can also run at up to 50 miles an hour all day and possesses Wolverine level sensory capabilities

Designation-training for X-Calibre

Specialty-Combat, he is being personally trained by the Xmen's arguably most skilled fighter, his adopted father Wolverine. Also seems to Possess an almost intuitive grasp of lore and things arcane.

Shaq if you could once again do the points on this id appreciate it, Im always worried about godmodding and i like the way you did wolverine. I thought X-Calibre which will most likely contain mage type characters could use a strong fighter.

I'm still working on assigning Skoll points. I just don't want you to think I'm forgotten him.

Beast ironically is going to be the one in charge of that when we get back.

The students generally will be able to use the Danger Room when the X-Men are on real missions but they can't since the main team is using them now.

Also, the students will "Study". Beast and the other senior staff will give the students villains and heroes to study.

Its going to be a way of helping us learn more and more about the Marvel universe as players and the characters will be learning about "Enemies" and how powers work and stuff.

Right now the students can interact with each other and talk about whatever including what their speciality could be, and what their role may be if they become X-Men.

PS-The student phase is actually just a trial phase to make sure everyone knows how to rp. But skilled rpers can bring their character up to X-Men without much difficulty. A lot of students will be moving up soon, but learning the game's combat is first.

cool, lol, i have admit i find it funny that my chars have several connections.

Both Hank and TJ are blue
Hank is Warfly's adopted father
Warfly goes out with TJ
Hank teaches Warfly
Hank taught TJ

Yup, I'll be making a post about us on the blackbird so once we leave the Institute we leave the Institute thread.

What about Illyana Rasputin (Magick)?

She would be an ideal choice for the rp if you would like to play her.
