Looking for players

Greetings I am looking to DM. I have had 5 years experience and I am looking forward to trying a message board type layout.

I have actually planned out alot so here is the set-up.

The background will be in the town of Freeport, starting with a HELP WANTED sign in the local 'Firewater' tavern.

Seeking 8-10 travelers of random races and skills to quest with. All supplies, room and board will be paid, along with good pay.

Outside the tavern a dusty road called 'Northgate' goes north leading to the northgate of Freeport, and south leading into the town center.

Along the road there are several shops. There is a general store right next to the 'Firewater' tavern and a Boarding House right across the street. There is a Jeweller Shop next to the Boarding House. A clothing shop called 'Mellina's Needles' is across the street from the Jeweller's. There is a Bakery next to the clothing shop and it's called 'Freena's Baking'. A nice meat and trail store called 'Jaxs' is across the street.

The road widens into the square of the town center. A large clear fountain gurgles and spouts out of a hollow glass ball. As if magic it empties and fills over and over.

Many people are always putting on little side shows. and peddling home-made goods.

Looking around there are roads in 3 more directions. South to the southgate on a road called 'Southgate'. To the East on 'Warriors Way' and to the West on 'Deity Prayers'.

Down 'Southgate' another tavern called 'Blue's Ale' is on the right and a supply store called 'Travellers Goods' is on the left. Next to 'Blue's Ale' is a small magic shop, 'Coven'. Across from 'Coven' is the nicest little bank. It's very busy, for it has a changer, and also houses the local bounty office. Next to the bank is a stable called ' Hooves'. Across the road is a 'bathing house and brothel' called ' Maise Jannett'. The widow Fae owns it.

East on 'Warriors Way' there is a Blacksmith to the north called 'Anvil' and an Armorer called 'Shields Worth'. Next to the blacksmith is a shop full of different armor. It's called 'Green as Gold'. Across the street is a decent weapon shop that carries alot of exotic items. 'Melee 'n Blood' it's called. A map shop is right next to the weapon shop. A practice and training building is across the street. At the end of the road is a little bar open only to members, called 'Loner.

West of the town center is 'Deity Prayers'. There are 4 open temples. Anyone may visit these and plead for help, give praise, and take deep thought on their world. At the end of the road there is a temple Donation building. Two rooms are connected to this building to the north a Study and Chant room, to the south a herb and apothacery, run by the temple priest.

Please join in. and let me know who would like to play. I shall open the RPG board for this later in the next 2 Days .. ideas and direction would be nice.. also a character submitted by pm or posted here would give me a position to play from.

Good Luck and POST AWAY!

I'd be interested, but unfortunately, my D&D experience is limited to "pretending" to play with friends, and none of us knew how to play. And I've played Baldur's Gate 2 and Planescape Torment.

To be honest, I've been trying to get into D&D for quite some time now, and I'd love to take part. But, is there room for a complete newbie such as myself? If you give the go ahead, I'll post a character. (Half-elf Bard, probably)

*smile*

Post your character.. I look farward to starting with a full range of players.. If you need help with a player pm me or email me...

Waiting to see if it catches on any?

I have not played a D&D game, used to play basic back in the early 80's LOL., in a long time. I am game to try one if you do not mind some mistakes on my part. My character will be a large human fighter type with a lycanphropy streak.

<<Huggs Chewey>>

Well with a fellow Nutmegger, I guess I could be persuaded.

The Squantz Pond, water fiend emerges :) watch out Sherman !!!

No seriously,

Hi Jeselynn, you know me briefly I guess, can I bring Fern in here, I think from your opening description I'll feel much more at home in this thread :)

Let me know, I'll repost my char is you want.

Snork

Why hello there SM, nice to see you. How is everything going? Hope all is well . Ok, so when do we start this or should we just enter our characters info here so she knows what we have going?

Chewey

P.S> I am always up for more huggsss

Everything's going well.

It's really strange how things work out. I'm coming Home for July :) and I doubt I'll have had the baby by then it's gonna be pretty close.

I kindda hope it'll will be born in the US, though thats not the reason for going back, the trip was planned last year. It would be nice to have the baby on the 4th too.

I don't know what it is yet either, I still have resisted all urges to ask - I kindda want it to be a girl but that's not so important.

Does Henry K still live in Sherman btw, I told my fiance he did and he didn't believe me. I actually met him once in Milford.

w.r..t the thread - this one - I haven't posted my char yet, I am waiting to see is Jeselynn is gonna let me join or not.

How about...

How about this? Hope you don't mind me reusing my character from the old Prophecy thread. Didn't get the use out of him I wanted to.

Name: Fledgrin Sorrow (nicknamed Fledge and later Edge by his older brother, he still prefers to be called Edge)
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 180 lbs (muscular from his training and battle experience, but not the bulging barbarian type at all)
Hair: brown and long to his shoulders
Eyes: Brown
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Class: Fighter

Bio: Born into a poor family, Edge lived the first years of his life on a farm, though he has no memory of that time. Evicted by a rich landlord, his family took to the streets while he was only four years old. Ensuring he and his older brother Dervasse ate first, his father died of starvation within the first year, leaving his mother with the two boys. WHen he was seven, she passed away as well, for unknown reasons. His brother raised him from there, but, only twelve years old, Dervasse knew nothing of the world besides what he learned on the streets, stealing and fighting. The two lived together for seven years, stealing the food and money they needed and remaining in the same town only long anough to get what they needed to move on, gaining reputations everywhere they went as trouble-makers and disruptive children. They were finally caught and punished, beaten intensely during their arrest, in which Edge lost his left eye, and sent to a prison where he spent the next three years, never seeing his brother once, but being looked after and cared for, given his young age, by three prisoners of war, who, when they escaped the prison when he was sixteen, took him with them. On the outside, they were fugitives, wanting to find their way back to their home but unable to risk crossing the borders. They attained weapons, and taught the child the ways of war, skills he would need should he be realized as their friend. When the three were recaptured, they hid the boy and went peacefully, later to be executed. Edge, now on his own but more a man than he had ever been, was still a fugitive at large following the escape, and his previous reputation had not worn itself away. No family to go to (as Dervasse had not, to his knowledge, ever left the prison), he became a wanderer, a nomad, lending out his services as a soldier in some cases and as a thief in others, though he had grown to hate stealing when it wasn't a means of survival. He could hunt for food when he was hungry, and often had enough money, at least. He traveled constantly, spending no more than a week in any given place, unless the money was too good to leave, and he kept to himself, but he constantly watched, studying people, learning how to read even the most subtle move or the hand or eye. With only one eye, he saw what most could not see with two, and his instincts told him more than his senses could ever provide, proving with sometimes deadly accuracy that the mind's eye can be even more powerful. But he never saw with either eye what he truly searched for. A meaning to the insanity his life has shown him.

Weaponry: He is skilled with many weapons, but is most efficient with the sword, and has found himself to be ambidextrous. He carries a long sword in a sheath on his belt. He also carries a plate shield, which he tends to leave on the saddle of his horse, Matty (short for Matilda).

Sound good? Let me know if it isn't what you're looking for. I'm willing to make changes if necessary.
Sorry for the length, I tend to be long-winded, but thorough I think.

I am glad to hear that everything is going well. I am blessed with three of my own, that I know of (just joking). It would be nice if the baby was born over here , but as long as its born healty, it does not matter where. I am also waiting to hear if Jeselynn is ok with a newbie on this thread.

Ok , here goes nothing

Name: Perrin Al Thon
Race: Human
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 270
Weapons: 2 handed double bladed battle axe, Claymore
Armor: Chain Mail
Hair : Raven Black with a long braid in the back
Eyes: Pale Ice Blue
Age: 24

Background Info: Perrin was orphaned when his parents were killed in a goblin raid in his village near the Northern Glacier. He was raised by a local troop of polar bears that took a shine to him. He is able to speak common and also the language of bears. The reason that the bears befriended him, is that he is a Werebear. His transformations are not predicated by the moon, but by physical trauma. If he receives a certain amount of damage. then he transforms. He has no control over the transformations at this time. He has minimal mental facilities at the time of transformation. He is able to only reason like a child. During his transformation , he is a 8 foot tall polar bear with like abilities .

Doing fine over Chewy. I think I might have enough time to try another thread. Thats why I am here. :D

Ok, here goes...

Name: Eladrel Daelon
Race: Half-Elf
Gender: Male
Class: Bard
Eyes: Golden-brown
Hair: Silver, shoulder-length
Age: Equivalent to a 23 year old human (I'm not too good with the age differences, but I think that's about 35 or so for a half-elf)
Height: 5'10"
Build: Lithe
Description: Eladrel is a charming man who seeks adventure for the glory of being a hero. His father was a human warrior, who died when Eladrel was young, leaving him to be raised by his mother, who was not accepted by the elves because of her association with humans. Hence Eladrel grew up as an outsider. When he came of age, he said farewell to his mother, and set out to find fame and fortune.
Weapon: Carries a long sword, which he uses with some degree of skill and grace. He is merciful and forgiving, preferring to disarm and subdue his opponents than kill them in battle.
He also carries his trusty lute.
Clothes: Eladrel prefers to dress elegantly, but his financial position does not often give him that chance. He wears only minimal armour (i.e. leather) when the need arises, favouring agility over defence.

What is ...

Okies stupid question ... Jese what is a Drow & a Grey??

A drow is a evil type elf. a grey is a neutral type woods elf..

a Mix. to explain makes my character chaotic neutral.

Raised by grey's.. more control of magic and better control of natural temper. *evil grin* I find this character more like my self.

I shall be opening the Main board in a few minutes...

Anyone interested can still join in. will add and change as we go. ideas are great. tell me about them!!!

PM's and emails to my address at Jeselynn@literotica.org would be great..

Ahhh ... okies I get it. I know Drow's as Dark Elves & Grey's as Wood Elves. At least in EQ. :)

She made her way back to her Grandparents and was rasied until she reached the age of 16 when she began her quest looking for the men who killed her parents. She joined many Cavarans and travelled as a hired guard all over Faerun. The most recent of which had been for a Calishite mercant travelling out of Wayloon to Fairhaven on the Cormyr / Sembia border

Having recieved information about her parents murderers in Fairhaven she has travelled by night to Freeport where she finds herself now standing outside the Firewater Tavern.

Two things...

One: i updated my profile to add Chaotic Neutral as an alignment, and Fighter as a class. Let me know if I have to change anything or if I need to add more inofrmation...

Two: Not to nit-pick, but I read Snork Maiden's character profile, and she's 3rd level at Ranger/Cleric. Are we all starting out 1st level, or just new characters...that's me either way, but I'm just curious...

Question has an answer

OK as i said we all start out as level one, so in light yes an adjust ment will be made fr play in our game for fern.. *Smile* but all is well for i feel each of us shall do very well in levels by the time this game is through

I'm happy to play level 1/1 Cleric Ranger

I've adjusted my char stats accordingly

I thought 3/3 would be appropriate to her age and past exp but I don't mind taking her back to the start. I also thought the additional healing spells would be useful in melee but I guess thats probably acedemic. :)

SM:)

Gee I guess that I have been away from D & D for too long, forgot a lot of stuff.

Perrin Al Thon

Alignment : Chaotic Good

Strength: 18 / 18 (00) in Bear form
Intellligence: 12
Wisdom: 11
Dexterity: 14
Constitution: 17
Charisma: 13

Anything else that I missed,? Any feedback is appreciated

Chewey
