Well, everyone is gearing up to feed the homeless on Christmas Day here in Atlanta. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, that makes two days people are taking care of them. Hate to spoil the mood, but doesn't this suck? Do we do it to help them, or to make ourselves feel better?

What about March 23, or June 16? I guess they aren't hungry then?

I do try to help out as often as my time allows which is uaually once a week

Actually, I think more people donate food at those times of the year because we are bombarded by the media to do so. Since it is a time of giving, the media likes to play up that aspect for more readers and viewers. But, you are probably also correct that there are many people that give only because it makes them think they have done a good deed for the year. At least it gets them to donate sometime.

My church keeps 10 boxes at the doorways for people to donate food every Sunday. I, and many others, wind up filling these boxes each week. I'd like to think that this happens around the country.
