Online Safety Act (UK)

No not a problem but I'm just curious about your viewpoint as it's the UK online safety bill meant to safeguard the underage community and you've took it into a tailspin.

I think it shouldn't be regulated.

I think that anything the government tries to regulate will get corrupted and eventually do the opposite of which it was meant to do.

I think having to give personal biometric or ID's will result in tons of personal information getting hacked and released (See TEA app that happened a few days ago).

I think it's the parent's job to teach their kids not to seek this information out, or keep them from accessing it, rather than pushing regulation on it.

I think a government trying to force another country's companies to do something is wrong.

I think that the censorship and control they are trying to put, is so they can force Digital ID so they can watch every move you do, and shove a credit score system on you, so if you looked at porn you suddenly can't hold a job or can't use your payment systems anymore, or your travel is restricted.

I think there's already regulations regarding adult material and those not following it can easily be tracked by the government and shut down.

I think the UK wants to do more of what Germany is doing, and if you say a naughty tweet they will arrest you, rather than dealing with real criminals.

I think the UK wants to shut down the migrant conversations and facts where 90% of crime/rape/child trafficking comes from Arab Muslims from other countries they let in.

I think this is about control, not safety.

I think they couldn't convince everyone through normal means, the marketplace of ideas, or even the free market so they have to force it by putting a gun to your head.

I think this whole thing, is a bad idea.

There's my thoughts.

I think so far as the UK is concerned it was passed with the best of intentions but, as has already been observed, the danger of overreach is ever present.

I question that, but if so, that makes it even worse.

For 30+ something years there's muslim/Pakistan grooming and rape gangs that have affected thousands of children that they could have protected, they instead protect the rapists and shut down any conversation or attempt to fix the problem....

And you think they are passing a bill in good faith with good intentions?

Pressing X multiple times to doubt.
