Most online cheaters won’t want to have a rational discussion on the topic, but for the rest of us, here’s a starting point:

Divorce courts provide raw evidence of Facebook’s impact on marital relationships: In many counties as many as 75 percent of divorce cases report the words “Facebook” and "opposite sex" in the proceedings. What is documented is that trivial and mundane topics that were discussed when a conversation began on Facebook quickly transitioned to marital woes and hardships, and then were taken even further: Emotional confiding steadily occurred; dissatisfaction with spouses was a prime topic; and eventually, the conversations included sexual dialogue — discussing what they wished their spouse would do, and what they’d allow the other to do with them in a hypothetical situation.

My bad. ~~ slowly backs out ~~
I thought this was going to be about Islamaphobes.

Agreed! The emotional support at one point could turn to physical support

Facebook was involved in mine. Woulda happened anyway but FB made it easier for them to sneak around at first. Or they thought they were sneaking around. I knew because I'm not an idiot but I digress, there is no need to discuss lying cheating whores in this thread about lying cheating whores.

But I'm not bitter.

If a relationship is not satisfying one of the partners they may find someone else to satisfy them, the internet and social media makes that easier.

I can see how someone could go from chatting to a stranger about the problems with their relationship to getting more personal, cyber sex and a physical relationship.

When my marriage was falling apart I talked about it with real world friends but there were some things I didn't feel comfortable discussing with them but might have told an anonymous person via an email.

It is true that those prone to cheating are more comfortable sharing their innermost hopes and fears with a total stranger instead of their avowed life partner.

Seems counter intuitive, doesn't it?

Behaviour is behaviour. "Online" is not a separate thing. It's merely a non-physical medium.

If you can cheat online depends on your definition of cheating.

If flirting is cheating then yes. But flirting can be done on Facebook, across a table in real life, or via carrier pidgeon.

If only snogging and shagging is cheating then no.

I'm just a simple single-celled organism, so "my definition" of cheating is more amorphous than amorous.

You might realize - IF you took your head out of your as once in a while - that most modern women aren't driven by their genitals. Like hopeful philanderers and online "Feminists" portray them to be.

Maybe she cheated because she finally realized you're an insensitive, self-absorbed schmuck (the way you come across online), or she outgrew you spiritually.

Thanks Dr. Phil.

It does seem a little counter intuitive, but perhaps it is the anonymous nature of internet communications. Sharing secrets doesn't automatically lead to cheating though.

I always thought that we desired that which we saw often, so it was more likely for people to cheat with someone they met in real life.

Who knows? Maybe some of the married "flirters" here can give us their perspective.

People cheat for the exact same reasons they have always cheated for. But go ahead and blame Facebook.

If you're doing something with another person that you hide from or lie to your spouse about then it's cheating. The medium in which it's done matters not. Lying cheating whores will be lying cheating whores with or without the internet.

Sounds like lots of you have been with lying cheating whores.

Do you find your anonymous online paramours more trustworthy and loyal?

I don't have any because I assume they are also lying cheating whores. And men. Mostly cuz they're men.

You guys changed.

You used to *like* lying cheating whores.

I like whores. Lying cheating whores are different. Can't even trust them for one nighters cuz they probably lied about not having STD's and being on the pill.
So no thanks, just plain old whores for me. I also have a list of women who I assume are not whores but I still want to fuck. Or maybe they are whores. I'll find out and let ya know.

Cool. You can trust me. I’m a man.
