All my work gets backed up to the .Mac server (I disguise the naughty bits with Tippex)

No. A piece stays on my hard drive until it's compete then it's backed up onto a CD and stored.

I love googledocs.

My only wish is that it had a "track changes" feature like Word's-- that would be so cool!

What I try for is backing up my texts in printed books on bookstore shelves.
