Once Upon a Time.....

Shy, it sounds as if you are doing very well and you can be very proud of yourself. :rose: :)

A little advice/experience with learning languages, I hope you don't mind: When I started learning Italian, I took classes two hours a week in one go. I did learn the grammar and much of the words, could read it fairly well, understand it a bit, but not speak one sentence. One word, fine. But trying to build a whole sentence, with the right words, the right grammar, everything, was impossible. The sentence would be perfect in my head, but always refused to come out. Then I went to Florence for a month to attend a language school. I didn't know anybody. In my class all the other students could talk, understand, everything. I couldn't. The first week was just awful. Then something in my head clicked. After the weekend on which I talked almost nothing in Italian I started speaking, not caring anymore if it came out right or with mistakes. From then on all was well.
I never really managed to talk Italian to someone I could talk German to, so in your case I suppose Andante is not really the best person to talk to. But maybe you can do an intensive course in Denmark with a group of people who refuse to talk English to you. If you know some of the grammar and words until then -which you are learning in your class- you'll manage to get the speaking going eventually. :rose:

Thanks for the nice words and advice Chris, it is good advice.

If I asked Andante he would happily speak only Danish to me but I am not ready for that yet.

In class the grammar works in my head just fine, but outside it is just a mess. I am glad I am not alone in finding that with languages. Having never learnt a language before it is all a mystery.
I do get very frustrated with myself, at being able to read basic sentences but lacking the confidence to even try to say them.

Of course many of the words sound like the person speaking is vomiting mid-sentence and people speak very fast (like any language I suppose).

Danish is apparently called 'the disease of the throat' usually I am pretty good at throat work but this is different lol

I have looked at the intensive courses but they are expensive, but the main issue is I get very homesick when in residential classes. I usually end up tearful, upset and unable to work. It is horrible, I hate being that way, but I am.

To bad you won't be in my area!!!

I would like to meet you :)

I regret not having met you and M Wisdom in London last year.

I come over for such short visits it makes going to different places difficult, plus Andante has to work during this visit.

I am over again in Dec, Jan and March so one day we will have to work it all out

Dearest Shy,

I would suggest taking the gym clothes anyway. Because Andante seems reasonable (except for his anti-cookie stance), and it seems to better to be prepared for anything than be found lacking.

P.S. Who stretched out this thread so far to the right? The rest of them are doing okay.

Good advice Snowy,

However I am reluctant to tread on a male ego.....

Decisions decisions...

And I have to ask... are we talking about the same Andante??

ROFL ;)

Maybe it would help if you start ordering whatever in Danish when you are there. Like in a café, say yourself that you would like a coffee/juice/tea/whatever you drink. That means you don't have to hold a conversation, they will probably understand you, and should they ask something back, you have Andante there to help you understand.

When I spent the semester studying in Italy, I often met an Italian friend and her boyfriend. When meeting them, I could understand her just fine, because she speaks a very clear, very school-booky Italian, not necessarily slow, but not leaving out most of the words as many Italians do either. Her boyfriend on the other hand was absolutely un-understandable. So she used to 'translate' what he said, basically repeating his words to me. Then I could answer, he answered back, she repeated it, etc. Not the easiest way for a conversation to work, but when I left again I could understand him just fine, too. :cathappy:

I know that those classes are expensive. I could only afford the one I did because there is an institute (Istituto Italiano di Cultura) that gives out scholarships for those classes. Maybe the Danish have something like that, too? And maybe there's a possibility to eventually take a class where Andante lives? I suppose you don't get homesick when with him... ;) But take your time.
I know that for me taking the Italian class only made sense after I had learned most of the grammar. That way I could go to a fairly advanced class where everybody was able to talk, thus having to talk, too. I guess it was easier for me, because I had learned some languages at school (English, Latin, French). Especially the Latin helped me a lot to learn Italian.

As to the gym clothes, I'm with snowy. Take them. Especially if he has to work, you can work out in the mornings. And seeing that he wants you to work out, he'll be happy that you do what he wants you to do. Besides it will be easier to keep working out than to start all over again afterwards. You'll just be more sore again after a break.

You don't have a dildo!!!

You poor poor girl.

I am sure there must be a 'save the slut' fund which will help you out and get the right one for you.

Remember folks, A dildo is not just for Christmas, it is a life time commitment

The bad fairy (who is not really bad just full of ideas that sometimes have consequences) said I should ask him if there was anything specific I needed to take with me on this trip.
I admit it is not like the bad fairy to be so very thoughtful, but it is a good idea; so I asked him.
He said 'No, not really' he also asked if I had anything specific in mind.

Well, what else could I say but 'No, nothing; I just wanted to be sure'

His voice sounded a little suspicious but he never said anything else.

It turns out the good fairy thinks I should take my gym things with me in case there is an opportunity to use them.

She had told the bad fairy about the idea.

The bad fairy thinks it is down to him to remember or to think about telling me to take these things out there (after all he is charge).
That's why she encouraged me to check with him about anything I should take with me
If he doesn't ask me to, then I am being very good and following his non-orders!!

Now what do I do???

Not take them and end up in trouble because I could have taken them, or take them and offend him because he is the person in control of me.
LOL, Shy. Here's my response to your question.

Don't worry about taking "the gym things". How about a nice bottle of single malt, instead?

That way, he can relax in the privacy of your room together.... sipping that Scottish nectar while watching you do jumping jacks and sit-ups in the buff. :D

LOL

I showed him this thread, and asked whether I should take them with me.

He said I should if I wanted to.
That answer just doesn't help a shy, quiet slave who needs help.
Finally he said 'Bring the damn things!'

The words should have made me jump into immediate action, but all I could do was laugh at his exasperation with me

As for your scenario, Oh my, suddenly it seems very hot in here

*fans self*

That's so sweet Rebecca.

Off to see him again in just two weeks. I am really looking forward to it. I am even missing the final of the UK X factor in order to be with him.

I am giving up a night with Simon Cowell for Andante. God, I hope he appreciates all i do for him ;)

Can't take the gym things and the Christmas presents, so guess whats being left behind? lol

And no, Miss Rebecca did not get the details out me last time, nor will she after this visit.

Nothing to tell really, just lots of sex and sleep and fun and submission and sex and ........ :p

Glad you decided to cut the Christmas crap and bring the gym things

Hi Eb :)

Good to see you, the thread where your av was discussed made me laugh.

Ever since seeing your av I have looked at long braided hair and wondered how it would feel to be flogged with it. Especially if it had pretty beads at the ends

As for Andante thinking I will leave Christmas presents behind......no comment necessary

Well they have made floggers out of everything else. I know that have horse ones.

Thanks to that 'Sense of Humour' thread and it being a slow night at work I wandered into the 'How too' forum.

I let my warped sense of humour get the better of me, as a result I was told that I have yet to find tenderness in a relationship, I have never been tortured and I have a lousy sex life.

Why didn't anyone here tell me all this before now??

You could have mentioned it before, I had no idea that this was happening to me. I thought I had a great sex life and I was sure I had been tortured and knew about tenderness.

I am heartbroken.

I must have been deluding myself all this time.

:(

As for you and the whip, well that made me laugh.
Inside every grown man is a 6 year old boy trying to escape :cattail:
Hey, Shy - how have you been? I have an update to last year's whip discussion. Something that made me smile.

As you may or may not recall, the neighborhood boys built scarecrows on poles in my backyard - to be used as "bad guy" targets when I'm in the mood to swing. The kids have been sitting on my fence, watching me practice, for about a year now. Sometimes small groups, sometimes large - but they're always eager to watch, and they always cheer me on. Mostly boys, but one little girl too (though she keeps her fists jammed in her ears, and if she's actually watching it's through an adorably scrunched-up face.)

So last night (Halloween), as usual, dozens of children came trick-or-treating to my door. And among them were......

11 boys dressed to resemble Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Ark (each with hat and "whip")...

5 kids dressed as cowboys (again - hat and "whip")...

and one little girl in a standard pink-ballgown-and-tiara-for-kids outfit, who whispered shyly, "I'm the princess for Indiana Jones."

:)

I haven't been touched like this since my nephew asked to borrow my old football jersey for trick-or-treating, roughly a decade ago.
