Once Upon A Time: the Dark Fairy Tales Challenge

I join with everyone, thank you for organising this event!

target audience is off, and I doubt my story would do well either way
I know that humble braggers deserve nothing but the worst, but I genuinely don’t understand what people do or do not like around here.

Also, my eleventh story got 11 “five star” ratings in a row before the streak ended. I hope that the trend remains - then, a well timed story number 50 (or so) will be able to win whatever competition there is.A2B8FAED-6E88-45A2-88E1-F08A85DA000D.jpeg

Looks like it was a fun challenge, sorry I missed it. Looks like there's a lot of fun stories to discover though!

I have a story that fits this thread, but I'm past the deadline. Should I submit it for general consideration or will there be a similar event next year??

I'm not planning to organise Dark Fairy Tales again next year. I suggest you submit it now, but still use the "dark fairy tales" and "dark fairy tales 2025" tags (if you haven't used all ten of your tags) so that your story shows up on the tag page.

Bumping this thread to reply to someone who sent me a question by email. Apologies for publicly quoting a private email, but there doesn't seem to be anything particularly personal in it and this is the easiest way to reach you, whoever you are.
Is it too late for a submission for the 'Once Upon A Time: the Dark Fairy Tales Challenge?'

I just came across the challenge and have a qualifying piece that I've never published. It appears the date for final entries has passed so I understand though if I missed the boat.

If you could, just lemme know. Thanks!
I'm afraid the challenge is over, and I don't think that Laurel will update the anthology anymore at this point.

That shouldn't stop you from publishing your story, though. Perhaps the challenge has generated enough lingering interest that it will draw extra readers if your title and/or description make it clear that it's a fairy tale.

What you can do, though, is use the tags "dark fairy tales 2025" and "dark fairy tales". That way, your story will show up on the tag pages whenever anyone does a tag search.

Good luck!

I've kind've done the same. My story is a bit longer, but it kind've fits the thread, and once published, I'll post a link here for all who enjoy this thread. @StillStunned - thanks so much for this theme!
