The US constitution says...
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

There's a whole canon of judicial decisions discussing what the hell this means... but it has no applicability whatsoever to lit. There's no appeals court or judicial action required for Laurel to ban me - or you - or anyone - from lit today, tomorrow, or the next day. Laurel's commitment to free speech is entirely her own, and I respect it, but she could decide to restrict lit purely to those who post nekkie pics of themselves... and there's nothing you or I could do about it. (Just an idea, Laurel. Consider it, please?)

Thanks. I just had to get that off my chest... In tomorrow's post... Why Laurel's Free Speech Policy Is Such A Good Idea.
