On abortion

It's "race baiting", not "racist", but let's not quibble.
In any event, thank you so much for quoting me, now I'm sure AJ will see it. We make a pretty good team.

You think I LIKE doing this? I'm teachin' him a lesson.

The question is, did Ishmael begat Amicus or did Amicus begat Ishmael?

No, it's just racism. Calling it "race baiting" is a meaningless disntinction that you use to make yourself feel better about doing it.

The comment in and of itself is racist.

And while we're at it, you're not teaching him a lesson either. Asides from the fact that A_J is too stubborn and set in his delusional thinking to ever learn anything, I highly doubt he gives a shit about what you say any more than I would if you made anti-semitic statements.

Again, it's more about you coming up with excuses for your poor behavior.

Let's review here. You popped in here, declared some folks to be "fans of abortion" without anything to back up your claim, and when challenged you unilaterally declared any dissent to be "wrong".

...and now you shake your head in amazement that people are insulting you?

To address your specious and condescending claim directly, without insult: People who avail themselves of a medical procedure are not necessarily "fans" of it. I've had two cysts removed in the past two years in a doctor's office, this doesn't make me a "fan" of the procedure...in fact, I rather dislike it. Having said that, I do appreciate that the procedure is available to me.

Your smug commentary insinuated that women look forward to an abortion. It's my belief that the exact opposite is true, but I don't have firm data to back my claim so unlike you I won't state my opinion as some sort of fact.

Opinions are like assholes. You're entitled to yours and I'm not here to change what anyone thinks. I stand by what I said.

Name caller! Thanks for playing. No one besides you believes what you think. In fact, I'd say most any logical person thinks you're lying.

For some reason women don't feel it's a trivial issue.

Particularly those that vote their uterus.

The fate of nations does not revolve around this particular issue. It's been a bone of contention for millennia and different cultures have dealt with it in different ways. I prefer the Roman paradigm.

Now, I've already stated that I'm, pro-choice. Not because I believe that there is any sound moral argument to be made, merely because the legal alternative is pointless and counter-productive.

So you can be a little pussy-boy, sucking up, and offering no more sound moral arguments over the issue than the 'vote your uterus' crowd. Further, pussy-boy, you use the term 'women' in an all encompassing way as if ALL women are on that side of the fence and nothing could be further from the truth. And you expect us to swallow your all encompassing, and untruthful, assertion as a basis for changing our mind?

Murder IS the premeditated taking of another human life. The state gets to decide whether that act is 'lawful' or not. And states, as history has proven, act in the defense of their own perpetuation, not in the interests of the citizenry. One look at the demographic statistics only shows how effective it's been as planned by the original proponents of the notion.

LOL. This post is the intellectual equivalent of a bald guy buying a cheap, bad toupee and trying to convince himself it looks natural.

It's true, teh fate of teh nation does not revolve around this particular issue, and yet, here you are, making one of your increasingly infrequent trips down from Mount Olympus (before your EEG totally flatlines) to bless us with your curmudegeonly expertise on this self-same subject.

Why, we must ask, does this issue consume so much of your dwindling time left on Earth?

I've got to believe that in teh big picture view of teh world, this is a small but important cog: Abortion does not affect men, so it's a low-hanging fruit in your never ending war between "us" and "them" ("them" loosely defined as "sluts", "coloreds", "faggots", etc), not to mention it permits you to smugly claim teh moral high ground with virtually no effort, after all, YOU will never have an abortion.

And let's not forget, those social conservatives who took office in 2010 after bellowing JOBS JOBS JOBS and ECONOMY ECONOMY ECONOMY....funny thing about that, Ish. As soon as they were elected it became ABORTION ABORTION ABORTION. Zero jobs bills from the frosh teahadists, 400+ bills to restrict abortion.

It's an expression. I will educate you: Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. You see, I do not sink to your lows. :)

That's nice, unlike you I do not care what you think about what I've said. I still stand by my words, having met (and taken care of) women who are fans of abortion.

Thanks for playing. Have a nice day. :)

I have met women (my patients) who have had >10 pregnancies with maybe 4 live births and they "thank God" for the option of abortion. Do I agree? No. But these people do exist.

Personal insults = you have nothing worthwhile to say. Thanks for playing!

Personal convictions aside, as a medical professional, do you acknowledge what kind of health crisis would ensue for women if abortion was outlawed? Does that concern you, strictly speaking as someone who serves the medical needs of women?

Of course, we'd be right back to the days when women died of sepsis/tetanus/hemorrhage after attempting home abortions with coat hangers/other household random dirty objects. I'm 100% pro-choice, not because of my personal opinions but because it needs to be an option. I work in emergency medicine and I've already seen one consequence of an attempted home abortion - young girl, late teens, ended up needing a total hysterectomy and she almost died. So unnecessary.
