The wheel of life,
7 Virtues 7 flaws One Whole.
As with all things in life there is a balance, here is what I have observed.
Virtues Flaws
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Love Misery
Loyalty Betrayal
Duty Suffering
Mercy Destruction
Bravery Fear
Compassion Hate
Wisdom Foolishness
Love is above all others, for it is love that is the basis of honor, and is the meaning of life. But out of the lack of love can only come misery.
Loyalty, One must be loyal for no other reason save for that which is duty. The path of honor follows that of loyalty, but those that are loyal are in danger of being betrayed.
Duty is the burden you must bear, the task you must accomplish at all cost, bound by the precepts of love and loyalty you must suffer your burden gladly
Mercy is for the strong, it your duty to save and defend that which is life. Destruction is for the weak and fearful.
Bravery is not foolhardiness, it is the will to get in and finish the job no matter the cost or odds, to turn and face your foe rather than to run. Cowardice is not but dishonor, fear is fine as long as you are able to put it aside and still accomplish your job, but to simply run and hide out of fear is the mark of cowardice and dishonor.
Compassion is the ability to feel for others, to comprehend their sorrow and their pain. But with the ability to understand comes the ability to hate, if one does not remember temperance.
Wisdom is Knowing what is and what is not, it is making informed choices by carefully weighing each consequence of each action, foolishness is to act without thought.
