At the last dealership I worked at we had a by the numbers
True, under 1000 mile 1991 Z28 1LE
Race tuned everything, no air, tuned port injuection 5 speed.
with the lighter car and race suspension, it was a pleasure to drive.
I would take it home some times on the W/E Talking about a fun car. I could never afford to buy it, but it was a blast to drive. We picked it up from a collector when it had 285 miles on it.
It was a shame they were so limited production.

I miss my Z28 at times, but never miss the mileage.

The 305 had been replaced by a bored-out 350 with an oversized cam; it had California headers, Holley 4-barrel with an Edelbrock breather, and a posi-traction rear end with a turbo transmission and a shift kit.

It got about 8 miles to the gallon, but it would SCREAM. :D

I bet you do
1 LE looked just like a 'regular' Z28 without the graphics and of course the power accessories. Factory with race suspension and raceing 'cell' tank. It was literally race ready. All needed to race was the addition of a roll bar.
This is not the car we had at the dealership but identical as best as I can tell

same body style as mine - third generation.

Mine was that fire engine red, had gold ground effects and gold-tinted windows and t-tops, louvers on the back window. It was pretty.

But! I sorta like my green one better now.

Wow! In my heart of hearts, I'm more of a Mustang guy, but I have to say that new Camaro leaves the new retro-Mustang looking like last week's leftovers!

At least they chose to use the '69 as inspiration, instead of those early 70's ones that looked like a Vega on steroids.

As to the chick-car vs. guy-car debate, I always thought the Camaro was more of a chick car (except the Z-28) while the Camaro-type guys sprung for the Trans-Am. That fire-bird hood painting said "I've got a hairy chest, and I'm not afraid to show it!"

maybe, but they don't have the chicken on the hood anymore....at least, mine doesn't.

It's something else, isn't it?

Well, the spare tampon slot in the Camaro glovebox, maybe... Honestly, I don't have any idea what gives cars genders. When I bought my Subaru Outback (<--Yui bait!), a gay friend said, "Oh! you got a lezmobile!" Apparently, Subaru was the first automaker to advertise in GLBT publications. That, and they're butch in feminist-friendly way... ;)

If, on the other hand, you meant "It's something else, isn't it?" referring to the styling of the new Camaro in a way that meant something like "Outasite! yeah?", I would definitely agree! :D (You live long enough, and pretty soon all your colloquialisms start to mean the opposite of what you thought. ;) )

yeah, that's what I meant. :D

I posted a pic a few posts up of what my car that I have now looks like, but if there's anyway at all possible, it'll be traded in for one of the new ones in 2007.

I have a burgundy 1990 Buick LeSabre, nothing quite says "I'm on the way to bingo!" quite like it.

LOL...I can relate to the truck...My 95 Cummins is chipped...she's a rough ridin', noisy, stinkin bitch...and I love her....

...but if Mopar ever brings back the Cuda's or Challengers...I would be sorely tempted...
