while practising for the airshow here in southwestern ontario one of the snowbirds crashed over lake erie.......yipesssssssss early reports were sketchy at best anyone heard anything else?????

they a private or military team? i've heard of them, just can't remember which it was...

so it's either like having one of... umm.. are there currently any US pirvate/corporate aerobatic teams out there? i should know this, since my pap and i volunteer for the photo team at the big airshow in Oshkosh, WI... damn..

they must be military...
that'd be like one of the Thunderbirds or the Blue Angels crashing, am i correct?
damn, that's a terrible shame!
:(

(waits to be told it was actually something entirely different and to be made to look like an ass, as usual)

oh, does anybody else go to the big airshow in Oshkosh?

Snowbirds are the Canadian equivalent of the Thunderbirds.

It's sad to hear one crashed. They were just here in Northern Cal. last weekend for an airshow.

Google.com doesn't turn up anthing recent about the snowbirds crashing, and I've been watching HNN for two hours and there's nothing there either. (0120 hrs PDT)

Since it's been over eight hours since sunset over Lake Erie, I'd expect something to be on the net by now.

Two of them "touched" their wingtips, one went down with two aboard. They got to have a swim in Lake Erie for an hour until a Labrador SAR helo fished them out. Best news.... No injuries.

Why the hell they don't retire those freakin "Tudor" jets and use some of our surplus CF-18's i'll never know.
