Had to stick my two cents in. I just turned the big five-o myself. I certainly don't feel old and I'm told I don't look it either. I'd have to take a political approach to the age thing though. I've dated women as young as 24 and as old as 55 and I've really had a great time with all of them. Yeah, okay, the sex with the 24 year old was awesome, but guess what...there was a considerable lack of experience and not much to talk about in between orgasms.
