I haven't masturbated in over a week. I was told that it takes 72-74 days for sperm to completely die. Now, from what I was told, blue balls are caused by too many dead sperm/too much semen being trapped in the testicles. My question is, how long would it take to get blue balls? I don't care for masturbation and the last thing I want to do is get blue balls from not doing the one thing I dislike. I've heard blue balls were terribly painful and I don't want to go through that...Thanks.

You shouldn't get blue balls if you're not being stimulated. If you just leave yourself alone, you'll probably have a nocturnal emission (a.k.a. "wet dream") at some point. Guys get blue balls when they're stimulated (usually repeatedly) to almost the point of ejaculation with no result. Otherwise, the body cleans itself out periodically (it depends on the guy, but within a month is a safe bet) with a wet dream.

I can't believe a guy is actually asking this. This sounds more like those questions from young girls who have been told by their boyfriends that they have to have an orgasm, otherwise some very dastardly bad health condition will happen to them.

But yeah, what everybody else said. "Blue balls" is not about excessive, err, inventory. Yes, a man can have excessive inventory, but if so his body will automatically have a clearance sale (IE nocturnal emission) and empty out the shelves so that more stock can flow in. This is something nature built in--and, frankly, men are so sexualized in modern culture, and masturbating so much, that they never need to have one. (I haven't.)
"Blue Balls" is about being aroused for a prolonged period of time without release. Remember, sexual arousal is controlled by lots of blood flow to the genital region (in both men and women, so theoretically it's possible for women to get this condition too). Usually, you have an orgasm and all that blood is deliberately redirected elsewhere. But if you don't, well, it isn't, and so you get a lot of blood just hanging around there for no reason. Think of it like a rock concert. A gazillion people show up, and then they leave after the main event, right? Well, what if the main event never happens?
